French actor joins Game of Thrones as Dothraki filming continues

Haddad headshotAlong with a Game of Thrones casting update, we have a little peek at a season 6 script for you today!

It looks like French actor Elie Haddad will be playing a role in season 6. The actor has been sharing photos of the sights of Belfast over the last few days, on Instagram. Two days ago, he posted a photo of a script. Though the print is small, a closer look does reveal some of the text on the page, including the all-revealing word “khaleesi.”

Given the dialogue of the scene that Haddad was reading, his character is another new Dothraki addition.

We’ll tuck that photo and the text under the cut to avoid spoilers!

Updated photos from Magheramorne Quarry, and potential casting news!

Screen Shot 2015-11-03 at 23.10.46

Game of Thrones activity continues at Magheramorne Quarry in Northern Ireland this week.  The old quarry and buildings there serve primarily as the backdrop for Castle Black and the Wall, and recently new sets have sprung up on the grounds surrounding it.

Once again, WotW reader John has provided images of the sights around Magheramorne. These pics were taken yesterday, showing the progress made in the area.

More painting and construction has been done, and green screens are now in place. It appears in the photo above that some sort of walkway or bridge has been made between two entryways, in the new set.

We’ve tucked the rest of the photos and more casting and filming news after the cut!

But first up- we’ve been able to confirm, thanks to the Dubrovnik News, that the photos posted yesterday online from Dubrovnik are not from Game of Thrones filming. NBC is shooting their new series Emerald City in Dubrovnik, causing the confusion. Sorry about the mixup!

Game of Thrones’ leading ladies arrive in Belfast; plus a casting update!

We have a couple quick Game of Thrones casting updates and a few Belfast sightings for you all today.

margaret jackmanFirst up, British actress Margaret Jackman will be playing an Old Lady in season 6. Her Spotlight CV cites Mark Mylod as her director. He’s directing episodes 7 and 8.

The specifics of the role aren’t known, but given her listed role name, that she’s not an extra, and not a local to the shooting area but was brought in to film, it’s safe to guess that it’s a small speaking part.

Diogo Sales photoThere’s a name to add to the growing Dothraki lineup for this year: Brazilian actor Diogo Sales. According to his Spotlight CV, the actor has a recurring role as a “Blood Rider” in next season of Game of Thrones.

Bloodriders are the respected bodyguards of a khal. Which khalasar this new bloodrider is a member of remains to be seen as there may be multiple Dothraki groups in play in season 6.

His CV cites Jeremy Podeswa as director, but with Sales’ recurring gig, there may be other directors.

As if there was any doubt, another new cast member (who headed to Belfast yesterday) Staz Nair shared this video today via Instagram. The clip features Nair playing piano and singing, with Sales popping in toward the end with his moves.

New Game of Thrones set photos, and the Dothraki head to Belfast!

We have a special new batch of photos from a Game of Thrones set in Northern Ireland, but first let’s check in with the latest sightings.

First up this week: Faceless Man Tom Wlaschiha was spotted in Belfast two days ago, posing with a fan. Wlaschiha has, much like last year, been very low-key during filming and hasn’t been photographed filming on location in the way that his co-stars Maisie Williams (Arya) and Faye Marsay (the Waif) have been.

In other sightings: Belfast seems to be filling up with Dothraki, getting ready for the huge setpiece that will be filmed in the first two weeks of November in Northern Ireland.
