We still don’t know what his character’s name will be, but thanks to a new interview, we do know at least something now about McShane’s part.

The actor was in Mexico to promote his film The Hollow Point at the Los Cabos International Film Festival and spoke with Pop Goes The News on Thursday.

Sightings roundup: Game of Thrones cast members pig out, hang out, and carry on filming this week!

Several Game of Thrones cast members met up today at the Mindshare Huddle event with Thronecast host Jamie East: with him are Finn Jones, Gemma Whelan, Natalia Tena, Miltos Yerolemou, and Jessica Henwick. More photos below show the cast enjoying some adorable micro pigs.

Jones’s new ultra-short do caused some speculation from fans. There’s no indication whether or not it has anything to do with Game of Thrones at the moment, however. It could simply mean that Finn is done filming for season 6 and decided it was time for a new look. Fans will undoubtedly wonder if there’s more to it- if this is connected to Loras’s situation on the show. When we last saw him, his character was still under arrest by the Sparrows and in danger.

Ah, just what we needed: #HairWatchRedux

Director Miguel Sapochnik shared this photo today of the clapperboard for the Game of Thrones season finale, with the filming dated November 3rd. The director of photography will be Fabian Wagner, who also handled those duties last year for “Hardhome” and “The Gift.” It’s great to see this pair re-teaming for the season 6 finale.

Interestingly, the filming unit is labeled “White Walker Unit,” instead of the usual Wolf or Dragon Unit. During season 3’s filming, there was also a “Raven Unit” but the show resumed having two main units after that season. Now we’re back to three, it seems:

[Updated!] Joe Naufahu’s Game of Thrones role revealed!

Joe NaufahuWhen the casting of Joe Naufahu was announced a month ago, Deadline confirmed the actor had a “multi-episode arc” on Game of Thrones but his character name remained a mystery. It was commonly speculated he would be playing a Dothraki khal.

We’ve done a little digging, and have discovered that according to his RedEleven agency CV, the actor will be playing the role of Khal Moro.

In the ASOIAF novels, Moro is a briefly mentioned khal who is allied to Drogo and attends the presenting of Daenerys to Drogo. It’s unclear at this point whether the character Naufahu is playing is a further developed version of that Moro (perhaps based on something from The Winds of Winter) or if Game of Thrones has borrowed the name for a Dothraki character of their own.

It’s also possible the show is just using Moro’s name for another book character like Jhaqo or Pono. They were Drogo’s riders who broke off to form their own khalasars after the khal could no longer ride, in the book A Game of Thrones.

Update: cut to a few hours later…and now Naufahu’s CV says he’s playing Khal Jhaqo. Strange that is said another ASOIAF character first, but anyway, Jhaqo makes more sense. Thanks, Greenjones, for letting us know it’s been updated!

More Dothraki news and light spoilers after the cut!
