Game of Thrones San Diego Comic Con Panel open chat

SDCC logoThe one-hour Game of Thrones SDCC panel is kicking off today at 2.30 PM PDT (5.30 PM EDT; or 11.30 PM CEST for those in Europe).

As announced before, the panel will take place in Hall H and will be moderated by Seth Meyers this year. It will be followed by autograph signings at 4.15 PM. The confirmed list of panelists is as follows:

New Game of Thrones Merchandise Headed to SDCC; First Look at Mother of Dragons Building Set

San Diego Comic Con kicks off this week and with it, Game of Thrones has launched several new items of merchandise, with sneak peeks in person only available at convention booths!

CJbu0ZSUcAATLbCFirst up is an mini-replica of Robert Baratheon’s stag crown.

Lucky for Baratheon fans (I’m looking at you, Sue the Fury!), the crown is also available for pre-order at the HBO shop.

Next up are some Dark Horse figures including Oberyn Martell, Ygritte, Grey Worm, Sansa Stark, Jorah Mormont, Margaery Tyrell, The Hound, Brienne of Tarth, Bran Stark & HODOR! and even the Titan of Braavos statue!

2 new castles added for Game of Thrones season 6!

HBO has confirmed several locations in Spain today for Game of Thrones season 6, including two castles!

In addition to HBO confirming the show’s use of the Bardenas badlands and the Alcazaba in Almeria, HBO has announced that this year, Game of Thrones will be shooting in the Castillo de Zafra, in the Guadalajara province, and in the Castell de Santa Florentina in the Catalonian city of Canet del Mar.

Maisie Williams weighs in on Game of Thrones Deaths and More

maisieMaisie Williams has been a busy little bee doing other work and making the rounds to promote it as well as to talk about her work in the Always #LikeAGirl campaign.  One thing she is certain of is that she’s really tired of being told she’s cute.

I’ve always been bossy. I’ve always wanted to take control. Every girl should feel like that – that they can take control of their future. I want to inspire people to make those decisions based on what they want to do – not what they think they should do.

As we well know, there’s no way around getting pelted with Game of Thrones related questions, which you can see at  E! Online and People Now and she’s been asked to weigh in on the “saddest death” in Game of Thrones and Jon’s death.

I think Robb [Richard Madden], because although we’d seen, like, those horrific [deaths], our favorite characters being ripped away from us, I feel like the audience—and myself—were led into such a false sense of security, we couldn’t see it coming…

Mesa Roldán confirmed as a Game of Thrones season 6 location

Filming for Game of Thrones season 6 at the Mesa Roldán in Almería has been confirmed, bringing another exciting new location into the mix of shooting in Spain.

According to La Voz de Almería, the news was announced by the local council through an official statement, detailing the filming decided by show producters and Carboneras mayor Salvador Hernández. La Voz reports that Mesa Roldán, its tower and its surroundings will hosting shooting this October. Mesa Roldán is a coastal mesa holding a lighthouse and the remains of a watchtower.

Almería extras casting announced, Game of Thrones Spain filming schedule set

Though reports initially stated it would begin a day later, it has been confirmed that Game of Thrones will be casting extras for season 6 in Almería July 8th and 9th.

ModExpor International, who handles the show’s extras throughout Spain, posted an announcement today with the casting dates, GoT’s shooting dates this fall, and the very specific requirements for the people hoping to appear on Game of Thrones.

Peñíscola extras casting confirms Game of Thrones shooting dates this October

Game of Thrones preparations in Spain roll along this week, with the next stop in the Valencian town of Peñíscola planned for tomorrow.

According to ModExpor International, who handles extras casting in Spain, Game of Thrones will be hunting for locals in Peñíscola on July 6th to take part in filming the show this fall. The announcement provides hints as to what locale the town might stand in for, and also provides the shooting dates this October. The casting notice:
