    1. Hodor!

Here’s to the Crow’s Eye and Randyll the Mandyll, and maybe some juicy hints about what’s happening next season (particularly regarding the fate of a certain Lord Commander).

    2. I’ll be watching anxiously for news of casting announcements… other than that, I’m not expecting much. I’m sure they’ll be using this panel to double down on the idea that our favorite long-locked hero is dead.

Will we get official casting announcements today ?

If we look at the past years? Yeah, guess so.

But nothing is guaranteed, this ofc is the first season without books to base it upon so they might go for a non-spoiler presentation. But I think they will announce some stuff.

    5. I hope for casting announcements.

I wonder if they’ll mention any of the controversy of condensing two novels into one season, i.e. Turner and Allen discussing that Sansa’s storyline was drastically condensed.

    6. For some reason I think the odds of getting a casting video or announcement are less than 50/ 50 this year…. No evidence for support, but it feels less likely this year to me.
      Anyone else?

      Here’s hoping though! XD

    7. So looking forward to today. I hope the discussion is mostly about what to expect in Season 6 (and I do hope that not every fan question is about Jon Snow).

Saturday’s “Women who Kick-Ass” panel is just star-studded and should be sooooo exciting!

As others have mentioned, ComicCon is earlier than normal this year, and it seems like D&D are behind schedule in comparison to previous years. I’m hoping to be wrong…but I’m not getting my hopes up either.

    13. I’m excited to see the panel, but I’m not expecting much to be honest. I don’t know what the executive producer or David Nutter can really add to the discussion. Nutter can discuss his two episodes, fine, but that can only take so long. And after that? Also I just saw two or three interviews in the last week with cast members who all stated they haven’t gotten the scripts for season 6 yet. So they have no idea what the story is for their or other characters. So I can’t see anyone other than maybe Van Houten who knows much about what season 6 has in store for them. So I guess they’ll talk about season 5 and field Jon Snow questions the whole time.

I agree. I seem to remember last year we heard rumblings about some castings leading up to Comic Con (Wasn’t Keisha Castle Hughes known before the official announcement?). This year, nothing. I think they haven’t locked people down yet (maybe still in negotiations with agents?), and this will be more just fan servicing, especially with D&D and GRRM absent.

    20. It’ll be a pretty uneventful panel without some kind of tease of what’s coming in Season 6, whether it be casting announcements or otherwise.

Then again, I’m not sure what the average time is between when casting begins and when they’ve actually locked someone in for a part. Sue posted about the casting for Euron, the Tarlys, etc. in late May, so that’s over a month now. I guess we’ll find out for sure later today.

    21. I’m not terribly optimistic, but hoping for some casting news. An announcement for Arthur Dayne is too much to hope for. But if it was announced that Wyman Manderly was cast it would tide me over for months. A Euron announcement would be nice too. But Manderly is what I really want.

Without having much more book material left, there’s not much to look for really.

I reckon they need to get some kind of audience participation going as well (those watching in the GoT universe itself as well as us show viewers). I’m thinking along the lines of call and response. Who’s the only person I’ve ever loved? Your sister! Edd fetch me a……Block! Who do we all hate? Olly! With guest appearances from everyone who’s been cut out/merged etc.

A whole day’s entertainment for all the family, with stalls, side shows etc like a full blown festival. House Ramsay give us a flaying demo; Mord reminisces on how he unexpectedly came into money; anyone who’s been in a plot hole/leap of logic type situation on what the hell happened etc. They have the budget for this sort of thing now, make it happen D&D! 😀

I thought we only seem to get them in alternating years, anyway: there were none for Season 2 and none for Season 4, as I remember.

There will be some sort of video extra, like a gag reel, but no cast video, in all likelihood. We don’t even have any casting confirmations yet, whereas we usually do by this time.

Not necessarily. People shouldn’t jump to that conclusion. Remember the major disappointment when we didn’t get any in season 4? And the leader of the free world had one question for him: Is Jon Snow really dead?
“Three weeks ago, I was the in the company of the President of the United States,” acclaimed director David Nutter told EW at Comic-Con on Friday. “He turned to me, put his hand on my shoulder, and said, ‘You didn’t kill Jon Snow did you?’”
It’s the question every fan wants to know, and apparently Obama is quite the fan, telling Nutter that season 3’s notorious Red Wedding episode is his favorite.
      So what did Nutter say?
“I said, ‘Jon Snow is deader than dead,’” the director recalls. “I thought I was going to be sent to Guantanamo or something, but fortunately I’m here — but he’s dead.”
Nutter added that Obama also complained, “You keep killing off my favorite characters.”

The very guarded comments about being close-mouthed regarding the upcoming season makes something that Kit Harington said in an interview just before Ep 10 aired really resonate. He was asked by tv host James Corden who was going to die. . His reply was:

KH: Oh, 90 per cent of the cast die… (groans) I can’t tell you… There’s HBO snipers everywhere. It’s a brutal finale. It’s dark, its gonna be eventful. It’s going to be shocking. I can’t tell you who dies. I can tell you there’s death. I can’t tell you who it is. … it’s brutal.”

I’m beginning to believe about the “HBO Snipers.” HBO must have been far more upset about the leaks than they showed, and now everyone is on lock-down, especially the cast.
