Game of Thrones Season 6 New Casting Roundup!

Game of Thrones season 6 casting info has been hard to come by this year, with the show being especially tight with their announcements. We know you’re dying to know who is playing Euron or Randyll, but until we find out, here are a few season 6 casting tidbits to tide you over!

johannesAccording to an Icelandic news report, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson has won a small role on season 6 of Game of Thrones. The Icelandic actor will reportedly play a part in two episodes this season. The actor is probably best known to English-speaking audiences from his role as Thomas in A.D.: The Bible Continues.

His specific role in Game of Thrones has not been confirmed, but given that he’s been chatting with Ricky Champ on Twitter who is playing an outlaw, and that the outlaw characters listed for season 6 are all two-episodes ones, I think most likely Jóhannes is playing another of the outlaw brethren.

Emilia Clarke back in action; Spanish casting calls offer more season 6 hints

Emilia Clarke is back to work this week, on the set of Game of Thrones. The actress shared this bewigged photo of herself, with Daenerys’ hair. It’s not clear where she is in the hairstyling process, whether she’ll wind up with a more ornate style or if Dany is having a rough time with the Dothraki she encountered at the end of season 5. But according to Clarke’s hashtag, “Good hair days are here again.”

Well well well…. It sure looks like, #goodhairdaysarehereagain #cantwashthis… ????????

We have confirmation this week that Game of Thrones has returned to Shane’s Castle in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, for season 6 filming. The Shane’s Castle property has hosted GoT in previous seasons, with its ruined stones and grassy fields proving a perfect backdrop for the show. No actors have been sighted yet but we do have a few ideas as to what the set could be- and has been- used for, on Game of Thrones.

Luckily, WotW reader Kieran happened to be visiting the area recently, happened upon this spot when security wasn’t around, and ducked inside to snap a few photos to share with WatchersOnTheWall.

We have some very specific new information about the Game of Thrones filming sites in Girona, Spain, thanks to Aragirona.cat. The city is expected to serve as multiple locations for Westeros and beyond in season 6. We had gotten an overview of the Girona sites a few days ago when a pamphlet was released by the city of Girona, but the city has now shared a great deal more info, in an effort to make the process painless for their resident and merchants.

The mayor of Girona, Carles Puigdemont, met with Girona City Council representatives and Old Town merchants this week. The local government and representatives from Game of Thrones are keeping business owners aware of which streets in the area will be affected by Game of Thrones shooting. More meetings are planned, in order to keep the merchants aware of the filming activity and how it may interrupt the flow of traffic.

In the meeting, people were informed which public areas, streets and plazas would be affected on which dates. These days may include preparation time, testing, shooting and breaking down of the sets.

The areas and when Game of Thrones production will be visiting them:
