Robert Aramayo joins the cast of Game of Thrones

Robert AramayoLet’s take a break from filming news, because Deadline has a casting confirmation for Game of Thrones season 6!

Deadline has announced that Robert Aramayo has joined the cast of the show, in an undisclosed role.

A recent Juilliard grad, Aramayo will be appearing in the upcoming HBO mini-series Lewis and Clark and in the film The Tourist.

We heard rumors a few weeks back about this casting but there was no confirmation, official or otherwise. At the same time, we also heard rumors of casting about two other actors which we can now put in a new light.

A second video of the Game of Thrones Tower of Joy filming has surfaced

Game of Thrones is shooting in Campillo de Dueñas, Guadalajara, Spain this week, at the impressive Castillo de Zafra. La Tribuna de Albacete notes the secrecy of the shoot, with the security guards patrolling a four-kilometer perimeter. But onlookers have still come, evidenced by the leaked photos and videos. Apparently this weekend, a man even broke his leg on nearby rocks trying to reach the castle.

The Tower of Joy filming has begun: here come the photos and spoilers!

Cameras were rolling today at the Castillo de Zafra, the castle in Spain serving as the location for a legendary scene from the A Song of Ice and Fire novels. Game of Thrones production has been prepping at the Tower of Joy site for several days and we have a report to share with fans direct from the shooting location, courtesy of Los Siete Reinos.

Watchers on the Wall Awards: Best Special Effects & Best Action Scene

There were no shortage of exhilarating episodes of Game of Thrones in season 5. The action-packed year reached a fever pitch at Hardhome and Daznak’s Pit. The show’s Emmy-winning visual effects were front and center in the climactic moments of the season, and were laced more subtly throughout the stories all season.  Today at the Watchers on the Wall Awards, we’re celebrating both the action scenes and the special effects of Game of Thrones that take our breath away.

Game of Thrones season 6 filming: Report from the Tower of Joy

The Tower of Joy is a key flashback in the story of A Song of Ice and Fire, and it’s no surprise fans are so excited about Game of Thrones finally tackling this sequence. As soon as the Castillo de Zafra in Campillo de Dueñas, Spain, was confirmed as a season 6 location, fans were eyeballing it as potentially the tower they’d been waiting for. With the unofficial confirmation that the castle would be the tower, along with a casting call for a Legendary Fighter that’s a dead ringer for Ser Arthur Dayne, we’re primed for this flashback…which, as it turns out might not strictly be a flashback.
