Game of Thrones Battlefield spoilers out of Northern Ireland and more!

Magheramorne

We have a fresh batch of major- and we do mean giant-sized – spoilers out of Saintfield for you today, but first, let’s check in with a few other Game of Thrones news updates!

Larne Times has new photos today of the Game of Thrones set in progress at Magheramorne Quarry. We first heard of the new set being built in Northern Ireland last week, when we received a set of pics from a WotW reader.

The new images show they’ve done a bit of work on the set standing in the lot, and there are vehicles around the buildings used as the Castle Black set. No actor sightings have been reported yet in the area. (As of Sunday night, Kit Harington was in London performing at The Children’s Monologues with Alfie Allen and Rose Leslie. For those still invested in HairWatch- yes, Kit looks the same, unshorn and unshaven.)

Larne Times reports that the location is “currently a hive of activity, with large white tents and vans travelling back and forth to prepare the location among the old quarry buildings for filming.” They note that “workers in cherry pickers” were seen “painting the quarryside white to emulate the icy backdrop of The Wall.”

Dornish filming at the Alcazaba of Almería

Alcazaba

Game of Thrones has departed Spain but we still have season 6 updates rolling in!

Game of Thrones was reported to be filming in the first enclosure of the Alcazaba of Almería, which includes extensive landscaped gardens.

Last week, a few of the show’ stars were spotted doing a photoshoot at the Alcazaba, but we’ve learned today that the location was used for other filming purposes as suspected. These new images, provided to us to by WotW reader AliKat, confirm that scenes for Dorne were filmed inside the fortress.

Game of Thrones returns to the Alcázar and the Roman bridge of Córdoba

Shooting in Spain with the stars of Game of Thrones wrapped last week, but over the weekend, a little extra filming happened in the country. We also have some Northern Ireland updates today.

Europa Press reports that filming around the Alcázar of Seville occurred October 23-24th, for more footage to be used in creating Dorne in season 6. However, no actors were present for the shooting. EP‘s sources say Dorne will have an at least equal presence in next season, compared to last year’s Dornish time.

We’ll be seeing the Long Bridge of Volantis in season 6 as well, based on other reports. According to Cordopolis.es, additional shooting without actors was done at the Roman Bridge in Córdoba yesterday. The same site was used to create the Long Bridge for season 5. Drones were used this weekend to take aerial footage of the bridge.

Thanks to Los Siete Reinos for the heads up on the weekend filming!

And in Northern Ireland filming news:
