The cast chatted up the new season with the press, giving us some juicy soundbites to pore over today. We’re also hearing people’s first impressions of the new season, since critics’ advance screeners were not given out this year.

First up: a report from Reuters, along with presenting cast members’ opinions on whether or not Jon Snow is dead (groundbreaking question), contains brand new season 6 footage showing Daenerys among the Dothraki. We last saw her in season 5 being surrounded by the khalasar. The footage starts about the 1:04 mark of the video.

Curious to know more about the distorted mind of our Editor-in-Chief here at WotW? When it comes to the death of a loved one and an episode named after the jackass that killed her, she will choose you to write up a memory about it.

Sorry, but there is something undeniably wrong with that.

Peter Dinklage takes center stage this weekend in a new profile in the New York Times. The actor met up with the NYT‘s Maureen Dowd to talk dragons, the Iron Throne, selfies and a whole lot more.

Describing what it’s like to work with dragons, Dinklage says, “Ah, working with something that is not there. Sometimes I work with some actors who aren’t fully there. The guys in the visual effects department show you pre-visualizations, pre-vis. It used to be just storyboards, but now they’re really well done on computers, and you see the whole scene with you and the animated dragons before you do it, so you get that in your head. It’s neat. It’s cool. I like it.”

Discussing season 6 in new interviews, actress Sophie Turner says that’s all about to change.

tyrionstrial

“The Laws of Gods and Men” is best known for Tyrion’s trial and understandably so. It’s a trifecta of powerful writing, acting and wish fulfillment. However, that isn’t the only scene that thematically fits the title. Several characters grapple with tough decisions and the elusive concept of justice, making “The Laws of Gods and Men” among the more thought-provoking episodes.
