Tim Plester on the Red Wedding and the possibility of returning to Game of Thrones

Black Walder

People will certainly be curious about your Game of Thrones character’s fate when he was last seen slashing the throat of Catelyn Stark. A new interview from a British magazine provides the opportunity to learn more about the Frey who wielded the knife. We also have a character return confirmation to share today.

British actor Tim Plester, who played Black Walder in season 3, discusses his experience on Game of Thrones and whether we might see him again in the November edition of UK’s Your Letterbox magazine.

Plester has appeared in a wide variety of productions including historical series Wolf Hall, crime drama WPC 56, and the musically comedic Galavant, plus films such as Kick-Ass, Bone in the Throat and Cuban Fury. He’s also co-starring in the 2016 HBO mini-series Lewis and Clark. Despite the lengthy résumé, the actor acknowledges that though he only appear in two episodes of season three, “Game of Thrones is probably the thing I get asked about the most – due in no small part to the now infamous nature of one of the scenes I was involved in.”

A Murder of Crows: Murder!

Yes, it’s time. No, not for doing Black Friday shopping or drinking from red Starbucks cups or counting down the days ‘til the Super Bowl – it’s time for murder.

That’s a major element of Game of Thrones’s unceasing popularity, after all, and for the dramatic tension inherent in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire before that. Who will live? Who will die? How will the deed be done, and what effect – if any, at this point – will it have on the overarching narrative?

Deaths!

It’s a simple question, aye, but it’s one that, once you start to get down into the weeds, has a lot of intriguing components and dramatic ramifications – and is, as it turns out, endlessly fascinating to speculate on.

So… who will it be? We’ll tell you our picks – and our rationale for them – if you join the fray with your own bloody candidates in the comments below.

Game of Thrones has once again returned to filming at Shane’s Castle for season six. The show filmed on the estate in late August, and our exclusive photos at the time confirmed that the location’s cellars were standing in for the High Sparrow’s sparse sept. Now Game of Thrones has resumed filming at the castle in County Antrim, and details are emerging.

We can tell you that our sources have revealed that the scene being filmed this week at Shane’s Castle involves Qyburn (Anton Lesser) and Grand Maester Pycelle (Julian Glover) along with some others in minor parts.

In addition to the source info, a fan on Twitter has offered up this tidbit as well:
