Game of Thrones nominated at the Golden Globes!

GGsThe nominations for the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced this morning. Happily, Game of Thrones was included among the nominees!

This year, Game of Thrones is nominated for Best Drama Series.

It will be face strong competition in the form of Empire, Mr. Robot, Narcos and Outlander. As you can see, the Golden Globes carried on its habit of recognizing new blood.

It’s odd to have Game of Thrones be the veteran in the bunch! This will be an interesting battle in the best drama series category.

Game of Thrones nominated for 3 SAG Awards!

SAGNominations for the 22nd Annual SAG Awards were announced live today, and once again, Game of Thrones made the list in several categories!

The cast has been nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, the highest honor for a TV drama at the SAG Awards.*

GoT will face stiff competition from the stellar casts of Downton Abbey, Homeland, House of Cards and Mad Men.

One cast member received special recognition- Peter Dinklage has been nominated for the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series!

Gwendoline Christie dodges spoilers and dishes on the bear

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiering in just a couple weeks, Gwendoline Christie (who plays villainous Captain Phasma) is busy promoting the new film. The actress has been chatting with the press about her role and naturally the subject of her ‘day job,’ Game of Thrones, arises on occasion. In new interviews with The Late Late Show and E!Online, Christie touches upon her past in GoT and comments on her bosses.

Christie was a guest last night on The Late Late Show, hosted by James Corden, along with Empire‘s Bryshere “Yazz” Gray. She was joyful as usual, reminiscing about the time she fought a bear and sharing an awkward GoT-related encounter at the dentist’s office.

New details about a season 6 Melisandre scene!

Carice van Houten shared photos on Thursday, confirming the actress’s presence on the Game of Thrones set in Northern Ireland. What little we can see of the muddy location is reminiscent of the grounds of Magheramorne Quarry, where GoT films Castle Black, among other scenes.

This weekend, Los Siete Reinos provided more info about what’s happening on the set. Light spoilers and speculation ahead!
