House of the Dragon finds a new filming location home base in the UK!

The fall has been quiet as production on the Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon moves along in the time of COVID. News popped up recently though, thanks to Redanian Intelligence, uncovering the new home base studios for HOTD.

According to an update posted on UKProductionNews, House of the Dragon will be filming at Leavesden Studios in Watford. HBO confirmed the news after it broke. Watford is found northwest of London. The studios were used most notably for several films in the Harry Potter series.

George R.R. Martin discusses his least favorite scene from Game of Thrones; it’s probably not what you think

George R.R. Martin has been quite open with his opinions regarding Game of Thrones, both positive and critical. Recently, James Hibberd released a snippet from his upcoming book, Fire Cannot Kill a Dragon, in which Martin expresses disappointment at Lady Stoneheart’s omission, for example. Now Hibberd has published another interview excerpt for Entertainment Weekly, in which Martin discusses which scene from Game of Thrones he considers his least favorite.

2020 has long been considered the worst year in modern history, but now my fellow Game of Thrones fans and I have officially been kicked while down. Our utterly beloved Queen of Thorns – the Matriarchal Tyrell Rose of Highgarden, aka Olenna Tyrell – Dame Diana Rigg has died, leaving an unfillable hole in our hearts. It is with immense sorrow that I write this, as few actors on Game of Thrones have ever left such a mark in their time on screen as did she.
