With only four trips down Memory Lane left, today we bring you Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 7, “The Gift.” Airing on May 24th, 2015, the episode was written by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and directed by Miguel Sapochnik. Most famous for uniting Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister, the episode features several key moments in the series including Jon’s preparations for Hardhome, Stannis’ struggle with sacrifice, and Cersei’s imprisonment.

Four days! There’s only four days left until the premiere of Game of Thrones season 6, until we’re drawn back into the magical, terrifying and occasionally wonderful world of Westeros. To celebrate, we’re having a giveaway day here at Watchers on the Wall.

First up today, we’re proud to present this gorgeous copy of Game of Thrones: A Pop-Up Guide to Westeros. The book takes us inside several major locations of Westeros and beyond, using the series’ famous opening credits as inspiration. Together, the spreads fold out to form a map that can be displayed. Throughout the locations are smaller pop-ups, including dragons, direwolves and more, along with insightful information that turns the Pop-Up Guide into a reference book as well.

Game of Thrones Memory Lane 506: Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken

What is there left to say about a Game of Thrones episode that had everyone, from your neighbors to friends you never realized watch the show to a U.S. Senator, throwing in their two cents? There’s no need to rehash all the gory details of the controversy that followed “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken” when the debates still rage to this day, and no point in reminiscing about the shocked reactions on social media when we still have Axechucker’s Twitter recap of the episode handy for review.

Last May, the sixth episode of season five, “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken,” aired for the first time. Since then discussions of the episode have fixated on the closing scene, but it’s worth looking back today, for our Memory Lane, at all the scenes that structured this polarizing chapter of Game of Thrones.
