db-weiss-and-david-benioff-game-of-thrones-producers

From the masterminds who brought you eight seasons of Game of Thrones come, well we’re not sure just yet! News recently broke that David Benioff and D. B. Weiss (known mostly as David and Dan round these parts) have officially signed their next global deal. After a lengthy courting process which included bidders from Comcast, Disney, Amazon, and Apple, they ultimately set their sights and signed their pens with the hottest ticket in global TV. No, it wasn’t with HBO, though you’d certainly not be wrong for guessing that, given their decade-long recently concluded residence at the WarnerMedia-owned hub. It would appear that they have ultimately decided to take up residency at Netflix. So what’s cooking for them over at the ‘ol streaming site? Let’s see if we can figure that out…

Gwendoline Christie on the Road to her Emmy Nomination, Naomi Watts Isn’t Allowed to Say Anything About Game of Thrones Spinoff

Gwendoline-Christie-In-Game-of-Thrones-Season-5

We’re in that ‘between’ phase, Game of Thrones fans. We’re currently between the Emmy nominations list, and the final Emmy awards in which GOT is eligible (and has beaten its own nomination record.) We’re between the end of GOT, and the start date of whenever the spinoff decides to debut. We’re between the debut of the final list of our eligible season 8 WOTW nominees, and the reveal of which of those nominees will be announced on nomination night. Amidst all this, news of the spinoff, or lack thereof, whose pilot recently concluded filming, has been rather sparse, so we’re always on the look for news to report about the spinoff or our dearly departed GOT itself. And right now, it looks to be an interview with the always exciting Gwendoline Christie on her road through Brienne’s arc, and some words of wisdom from a very tight-lipped Naomi Watts, on spoilers from the upcoming spinoff. Read on to check them out!

Nathalie Emmanuel Rejects Toxic Fan Backlash to Game of Thrones Season 8

Missandei Laugh Grey Worm Season 6 608

Game of Thrones has been resting peacefully for about 2 months now, or at least it would, if only anyone would let it. In the wake of the finale, fan fervor, enthusiastically by all accounts positive or negative, has truly reached heights the likes of which haven’t been seen since LOST ended in 2010. While the Internet was certainly ablaze back then – “I wasted all these years of my life all for this crappy ending!” was a common phrase even back in those simpler times – now, in the age of thinkpieces and online watercooler-ing, it seems as though the negative voices have emerged ever victorious amidst the discourse. And such, we have found ourselves with an echo-chamber of over a million signatures, smugly adorning the fan-led petition to remake season 8 with “competent writers.” Thankfully, our very own Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei) is firmly not on board.

Case in point: Naomi Watts, one of the prequel’s leads, deflecting like a boss on a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
