George R.R. Martin took a break from writing The Winds of Winter earlier today (yes, guys, he really is hard at work on it) to share his thoughts on the reductive legacies of complicated historical figures and how to best reconcile their virtues with their shortcomings.

A casting call has surfaced for the role of Daemon Targaryen, who is slated to be one of the leads in the series. In other news, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau recently said he “almost wanted” to donate to the petition to remake season 8 of Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones Super Summer Giveaway!
This has been a long year, with a lot of strange things happening in the world. Not a lot of fun, for obvious reasons, and unfortunately no Con of Thrones this summer. As it happens, the con is when we usually unload a good amount of the Game of Thrones merch that comes our way, as trivia prizes and rewards for “Find Sue in the dining area and win a mug!”-type games. Reorganizing for my recent move reminded me I needed to find something to do with some of this goodness, so as promised, here it is, your super summer Game of Thrones worldwide giveaway! It won’t make up for the murder hornets but hopefully it will put a smile on your face.
We have FIVE prize packages, loaded with fun. Leave a comment to enter and you will be entered to win all, with winners chosen randomly. (Complete rules listed below the prizes, with additional ways to enter!)
Spinoff show “House of the Dragon” rumored to be casting major roles and is moving forward on production!

It’s also technically still just a rumor, but we’ll take what we can get at this point: there could be some big news happening with regard to the Game of Thrones spinoff show The House of the Dragon (which will delve into some of the history of House Targaryen) and it has to do with casting.

However, it turned out the task was too mighty to undertake on my own, and so reinforcements needed to be called in. Enter fellow Watchers on the Wall writers Petra, Akash, and Samantha, who ably stepped in to help complete this vitally important work. So, what exactly has EVERY CHARACTER who has ever appeared on GOT think of quarantine? Dive in, and let’s find out.
