This past week was fantastic and it feels like we’re back on track. Join me in reviewing last week’s Game of Thrones episode, Hardhome. There was so much to review and analyze it was a real struggle to keep it concise. So come join me, why dontcha?!
Join Watchers Geoffery (Sullied) and Nate (Partly-Unsullied) in a synchronised re-watch of episodes seven and eight, “The Gift” and “Hardhome.” This week, we decided to pare down our discussion and focus on some key themes of the season, namely Cersei’s downfall, Arya’s progression and the White Walkers.
I know what some of you must be thinking: One episode, Unca Axey? And it’s true, we’ve never bent the knee to any actor or actress who was ever one-and-done before, much less one-and-done in less than half an episode. There was hardly time to blink; there she was, and then there she wasn’t…

From the HBO Game of Thrones official synopsis: “Stannis confronts a troubling decision. Jon returns to the Wall. Mace visits the Iron Bank. Arya encounters someone from her past. Dany reluctantly oversees a traditional celebration of athleticism.”
Now that filming in Spain for Game of Thrones season 6 is official, production is under way, with extras casting announced and more locations popping up.
The cities of Girona and Peñíscola have been confirmed as locations, and extras will be drawn from the local population. According to ElPuntAvui, Fresco Film Services (the film production company working with GoT once again in Spain) is seeking 1500 extras. Casting will take place on July 1st and 2nd.
The publication also reports that filming is scheduled there from September 1st through the 21st.
Game of Thrones is looking to add to its trophy shelf (that thing must be buckling by now) once again. The Television Critics Associationannounced on June 4th the nominations for their annual awards and Thrones has picked up nominations in two big categories this year!
The TCA- a group that includes “more than 200 professional TV critics and journalists from the United States and Canada” – selected Game of Thrones to compete in these categories:
HBO has released 6 new photos from “The Dance of Dragons,” the ninth episode of Game of Thrones season 5.

This week’s episode is written by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and directed by David Nutter. Nutter has previously directed four episodes of Game of Thrones, including “The Rains of Castamere.”
We’ve all been wondering when there would be more details about this season’s Game of Thrones soundtrack. Well, the day’s come- a digital release date, a track listing AND audio clips are all available today!
The digital version of the Game of Thrones season 5 soundtrack will be released and available for download on June 9th, according to Amazon’s info.
As was previously noted, the audio CD is available on July 17th.
How ’bout them zombies? This week seems to be a universally praised episode, so let’s see how the reviewers in our videos dealt with the events of Hardhome.
