Game of Thrones fans can get a little antsy waiting for the new season. April 24th starts to seem like a long way off and sometimes fans get…creative in how we direct that energy, manufacturing fake images of the season to come.
Well, this year we decided to channel that enthusiasm in a more fun direction with our very first Photoshop challenge! We challenged our readers to show us their hopes, wishes, and suspicions about the new season, creating new images for everyone’s enjoyment. Skill was not necessarily required, only cleverness, humor, or an idea. We asked you all to show us what you’ve got, and Game of Thrones fans delivered.
Based on the submissions, it seems fans want to see in season 6 a whole lot of payback, the return of bastards and kings, ships coming true, dragons, hype and violence. Lots of violence, but then this is Game of Thrones.
As promised, we’ve chosen a grand winner of the contest, and a runner-up, based on deliberations among the Watchers on the Wall staff. We had a great selection to choose from and it wasn’t easy. Thank you to everyone for your submissions, and we hope you all enjoy their offerings!

First off, we’d like to announce the winners of the Photoshop Challenge!
He delighted us with many of his contributions but this one made the Watchers laugh the hardest. The Grand Prize Winner is Bryan Kremkau, with his “Weekend at Jon’s” entry.

Jon as everyone had me busting a gut as well 🙂 Arya/Jon and Bran/Jon combo makes me shudder…freaky lol. Cersei/Jon could be in a geico commercial. Varys/bald Jon looks surprisingly good. And gold is a nice color for him, I like it better than the dusky blue… The snowy one with Sansa is also visually appealing, and is that supposed to be their child in the middle lol? The CLeganebowl’s were well-done, professional looking. SLD your Ned/Lyanna one is witty! Aryamad I’m loving that expression on Cercei face. These were all very entertaining, good job watchers! Makes me want to learn how to do this, for next year.

Thank you I’m doing good, I have just been really busy also and when I do log on I rarely have anything interesting to say on the said topic. I just can’t wait until it starts, this has been a long year in anticipation much longer than previous year’s. I think because of the Jon snow cliffhanger I believe it’s made the wait seem longer as opposed to previous years that didn’t really have any big cliffhanger. I have never looked forward to anything as much as I have with this season in all my life.

I simply can’t stand the questions asked to Kit about his being dead or not and his continuous denying. Hilarios talkshow (link on one of the threads about the Rayns of Castamere) when Kit gets electric shocks for giving unsatisfactory answers. If I had had any doubts before I would have been certain afterwards that Jon will be resurrected. And the playfulness of the whole discussion showed pretty clear that it was pretending.
I’m afraid it’s the same with me as well: I have never looked forward to anything else as much in my life… which is rather sad in a way. I have had my fair share of disappointments and achievements in so far, so to say I’m the most breathlessly waiting for a new season of a TV show sounds nerdy… but that’s OK, I don’t mind. At least we can be sure that we’re not waiting in vain. We will have season 6. Whether we’ll be happy or not with the events it’s another story.
