Maisie Williams takes part in her first Ask Me Anything

Maisie Williams as Arya Stark _ photo Macall B. Polay_HBO

Maisie Willams participated in an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Reddit for an hour for the first time yesterday. There were of course a lot of questions concerning Game of Thrones, and we have here collected some of her most interesting answers. Follow the link for even more Maisie.

What are your biggest struggles while on the set of the show Game of Thrones?
Very long hours. Because I love to sleep. I like sleeping more than most of my siblings. So staying awake and working long, long hours is very difficult.

Have you had one of those “I can’t stop laughing” moments on the GOT set? If so, what was so funny?
The one time was in series 3, episode 8, when I was supposed to laugh anyway – when Arya cracked up laughing at the news of her dead aunt – and I was watching funny videos on my phone, so I giggled endlessly, and they liked it, and so did the audience.

At what point did you realize that Game of Thrones was becoming a huge deal?
Season 3. At the season 3 premiere, we went to the Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, and stepping out of the car, with hundreds of people screaming my name, is when I realized that this show completely changed my life. It was very, very daunting – I found it quite scary – but it happened gradually, so I had time to get used to it.

The North Remembers: January 2012

Raven LogoWe have turned a new leaf, entered a new year, and so – of course – has our series of posts visiting the past. Today we remember the events from January 2012.

  • First of all, please give a round of applause to Sue! She has been with us for three full years, and is now the driving force behind Watchers on the Wall.
  • After the Emmy, Peter Dinklage won a Golden Globe as well.
  • Speaking of awards, the stunt team won their first SAG award, starting their uninterrupted run.
  • HBO released this In Production video featuring Croatia, while this report gave us a low-down on the Icelandic shoot.
  • We were treated to this art direction video, and a look at how Renly’s armour was made as well.
  • The biggest video of the all, however, was the S2 trailer in line with the now customary January release.
  • We learned that S2 was going to premiere on April 1st. No joke.
  • In an interview (last third of it), Nonso Anozie (Daxos) commented on his appearance on the show and the expanded Qarth storyline.
  • The first two episode titles leaked: “The North Remembers” (hell yeah), and “Nightlands”.
  • Game of Thrones has become the 3rd most watched show in HBO history already before S2. By now, of course, it has taken first place and firmly established the lead.
