As House of the Dragon draws ever nearer, we have had quite the busy week for Game of Thrones fans, from news to interviews, and everything in between, with no signs of anything slowing down. Last week, Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth) provided her thoughts on the rumored (confirmed) Jon Snow spinoff. This weekend, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) offered some brief retrospective on GOT’s universally beloved ending. In case you missed it, a few weeks ago, Maisie Williams was surprised, herself, at a season 8 storytelling choice. And just today, it was just confirmed that almost the entire principal cast from HOTD, as well as the showrunners, plus George R. R. Martin will be attending San Diego’s upcoming Comic Con. So, let’s dive in…
GRRM spills on the Jon Snow spinoff – including the title and his involvement!
Let’s cut to the chase!
“Yes, there is a Jon Snow show in development.” So says George R.R. Martin in his new Not A Blog post! He states that The Hollywood Reporter story was “largely correct”, and then the author drops the real big news- that the working title for the show is Snow.
Emilia Clarke confirms the Jon Snow show – and whether she’d appear on a GoT spinoff
Emilia Clarke chatted with BBC News recently, ahead of her stage appearance in the Anton Chekhov classic “The Seagull.” In the interview, she discusses her new work, representation in acting, her previous stage outing (that notorious bomb Broadway revival of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”), and most interestingly, the Jon Snow sequel spinoff that has everyone wilding out this week. And she is surprisingly forthcoming!
HOTD official poster released and new Funko Pops revealed!
Ohhh, the hype for House of the Dragon is really heating up (if you find my puns insufferable now just wait until August)! HBO has released another poster for the show and we’ve also got our first look at some licensed House of the Dragon merch!
The Jon Snow Sequel Show: I Have Questions
HBO has been churning out Game of Thrones spinoffs left and right for development and yet I still did not see this one coming. A new show for our curly-haired angsty hero Jon Snow! So says the Hollywood Reporter.
…wait what?
It’s apparently a sequel series in development so we don’t know if it will even survive to the pilot stage, let alone make it to our screens in a couple years. But that’s never stopped us from speculating wildly in the name of having a good time!
Plus I’m having too many thoughts and questions brought on by this absolutely bonkers rumor-drop from THR and those thoughts need to be spilled before they become a migraine. Here we go!
Jon Snow Game of Thrones Sequel Show in Development at HBO
Well. I don’t think anyone saw this one coming. Alongside the upcoming House of the Dragon (August 21 is around the corner!) and a half dozen other prequels in early development at HBO, it’s now been reported that the first sequel series is now also in development. You read that right: a sequel. A Jon Snow spin-off, of all things!
The Night’s Cast Episode 33: The HoTD Trailer is Here!
Well, that was quick! Mere hours after releasing a series of character posters for House of the Dragon, the hotly anticipated Game of Thrones spin-off, HBO gave us what we’ve all been clamoring for: a full HoTD trailer, chock-full of all the twists, turns, conflicts, smoldering glances, and dragons we’ve come to love from the world of Westeros.
House of the Dragon trailer breakdown
The House of the Dragon’s official trailer was exactly the shot in the arm I needed to get through this week (and I don’t think I’m the only one who feels this way), so it is with great joy that I break this trailer down with you, shot for shot, to see what we can learn.
House of the Dragon Teaser Trailer is here!
As soon as we got the shiny new character posters, it was clear that a new trailer would be coming soon, hopefully the first proper trailer after the tease we got months ago. But who knew it’d be this soon! Here is the trailer in all its glory!
