  1. Can I just say, that I LOVE him, he does the audiobooks for the Shardlake novels and he seems so kind. I honestly think that’s why I love Qyburn so much, totally nonsensical but its true. He did at least remain loyal to the end.

  2. Great news. I would like to se Cogman or Hill there as well. Since I don’t think it’s realistic that Benioff and Weiss would appear.

  3. Mr Derp:
Hopefully the pox will not take him within the year.

Well, he apparently survived being yeeted by the Mountain for trying to stop Cleganebowl (GET HYPE), so his chances are good.

  4. Lol, always have to love Qyburn!
The way he picked up and examined that dead hand in season 7, iconic! Talk bout scientific curiosity.
And we had one of the best scenes of the show with him.

Qyburn: and how many people did you save my lord?
    Jamie: half a million.

    lol lol lol.

Of course it was fitting that he died by the hand of his own creation.

  5. Life Goals:

    • Find someone who looks at you the way Qyburn looked at the wight’s wiggling severed arm.

I just saw you commented on that scene (Q picking up wight’s arm) before I did.

Incidentally, what you aptly described as “one of the best scenes in the show” (S3 Qyburn & Jaime discussion) happened to be the very first time I ever saw GoT – though my first encounter only lasted two seconds before I clicked the remote. (I was channel surfing; stopped briefly on HBO; saw two guys dressed in rags sitting next to some rocks in the middle of a field; thought to myself, “that looks dumb” – click! )

“We shall never see their like again. … now their watch is ended.”

Seriously, I doubt we’ll see those two fellows in public very much ever again, and certainly not in a setting – like on a Con panel – where they’d be exposed to virulent attacks from certain factions of the fandom.

  8. I’m planning on going. Hope they can snag Mr. Benioff and Mr. Weiss. Kit, Emilia, Maisie, Sophie, Issac, Dinklage and/or Lena would be great too. Kristofer Hivju would be a lot of fun.

  9. Jack Bauer 24,

Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey typically avoid these kinds of events and Lena H. is a private person. I wouldn’t expect either to show up.

Though I’d love it if Rory McCann appeared, I have no doubt he’ll be off by himself on his boat in the middle of the ocean somewhere. (If there’s anyone who could monetize his popularity on GoT into some fat paychecks and plum movie roles, it’s the Hound. Yet, he seems content to shun the limelight.)

Hey, didn’t Carice VH cancel a planned appearance at last year’s Con? Perhaps she’ll make up for it this year…
Give the Con a bit of Lord of Light favor – and get Richard Dormer to join her.
Melisandre + Beric Dondarrion would work for me.

  10. Ten Bears,

I felt so bad about Jamie in that scene! Being condemned for murdering a king who intended to become a mass murderer while all along all the “righteous” accusers had their own crimes to account for and none that saved the lives of innocents. They stuck to that hypocrisy -it’s a human mechanism for avoiding introspection and selfcriticism, to accuse somebody else for sth, actually anything.
(like that Jamie-Ned scene, where Jamie describes to Ned the deaths of his father and brother. Ned says sth along the lines “so what, do you feel justified now?” Jamie should have replied “Well, yeah, Ned, I do! I killed the bastard”, lol. I always thought Ned was an idiot).

But I saw GoT since the first ep., and while it was going to its end, I thought, ok, there’s sth going on here, perhaps it’ll get better -and then the Jamie-Cersei-Bran tower scene. Wtf! I said ohhhhh, now I get it, it’s better than I thought. I got stuck.

I think John Bradley canceled last year. Carice and Dormer would be fun. I’d just like them to snag a couple more of the “Core 7” characters. They had Nikolaj last year, but that’s it. Lena was actually at the Tampa Comic Con a few years ago with Jessica Henwick (Nymeria Sand). Rory, Maisie and Richard Madden attended in 2013. It’s possible they can snag any of them. Except for Dinklage like you said.

  12. AL has sometimes played Marcus Didius Falco on BBC Radio 4 Extra’s “Falco” – thrillers set in ancient Roman times (book adaptations).

  13. Is the plan for this to be the final Con of Thrones or will it continue whilst there is interest? I would love the chance to join one of these and talk to you all in real life about the show and books but being based in the UK it’s not an easy achievement.
