My page a day calendar quote for 13-AUGUST:
He may not look as tall or strong as some, but he is worth more than all of them.

As to 8 seasons – I believe that season 6 will be about half catching up with the first 5 books (ie, flashbacks, story lines that have not been covered or caught up) and about half from Winds of Winter. The catchup scenes will be scattered intermittently throughout 10 episodes. Should be interesting!
@Cersei’s Brain
I agree. If they had stuck with 7 seasons, it would have been a very different series. I for one am rather grateful that they get the chance to incorporate more of GRRM’s vast world.
Entertaining breakfast radio, as usual. Thanks guys. 🙂
One second they are talking about season 8 and the next they are discussing one particular chapter out of the hundreds of chapters…WHAT!
Nothing in the post about a chapter discussion, nothing about a read-a-long! No clear demarcation from the general discussion going into the chapter discussion, no recap of the chapter just in case I would like to listen along……phuutttt….you guys really don’t want any new listeners….
Shadrich,
Agree. I thought I was the only one who felt that way. I like the general discussion in the podcast. But it is incredibly difficult to follow because I never know where they’re starting or where they’re going to end up. It would be much more helpful if at a minimum, they would start the podcast by saying “this episode will cover the following chapters and following subject matter” And then end the podcast by saying “next episode we will cover….”
Instead they just start talking about “stuff”. And lucky for me I have good enough overall understanding of the books and tv show to kind of follow what they’re saying. But they really need to understand that new listeners are mostly in the dark about what they’re saying and need to figure out a way to be more considerate to their listeners and understand that we cannot read their minds.
You know, you might as well stop trying to use the show to inform you where the books are going in regards to plot, characterization, logic, and overall commentary on life. The show does so much of its own bullshit that it tells you almost nothing about the books at this point. For example how this thing with barristan and jorah plays out. And the idiocy of sansa ever warming up to any member of the lannisters, no matter how much wemay like him ourselves. Using the show as basis for speculation is a pointless endeavour
Always enjoy, these, thanks. They help me fall asleep.
The time has come to find a well-made hat to place upon what has become an excellent stop in our journey through this story — HBO s Game of Thrones Season 3 has come to an end, but Game of Owns and the memory of this season will live on!
