  1. Fav character has to be Arya. Her development and growth is amazing!! I can’t wait for her to go full badass mode in season 6!!

  2. Arya Stark for sure. As the Starks are the honorable family Arya is the only one who gives zero fudges about honor.

  3. I’ll have to be with a bigger crowd this time. If I have to name a “favorite” it’d be Tyrion.

“My mind is my weapon. My brother has his sword, King Robert has his warhammer, and I have my mind… and a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge. That’s why I read so much, Jon Snow.”

  4. My favorite character would have to be Varys and not just because the dialogue that he is given is absolutely superlative and definitely the best effort from the writers.

There’s an absolute mystery to him despite all of the layers he uncovers that it remains a treat to try and really figure out whom he is. On one hand, he argues that he serves the realm but certain actions of his speak otherwise. He’s endlessly fascinating.

    Would love to win!

  5. Yeah!! That’s mine Blu-Ray, 4 sure!

My favorite character from both TV and books is Bronn, the best merc with a mouth!

  6. In the books, my favorite character is Jon Snow. But in the show, my favorite character is Jon Snow.

  7. Wow, so hard to choose just one favorite, I have so many!

I gotta go with Bran Stark though. I think thus far he has been very underrated but I think by the end of the story, he will have played one of if not the most important part of the entire story.

  8. Tyrion by far. Despite having his own persona mishaps, he seems to be the only voice of reason in this chaotic world. It’s great to witness his rebirth in the world of power in this season after his reputation in Westeros has been destroyed.

  9. Daenerys Targaryen of House Targaryen the first of her name. Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the first men. Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea. Breaker of chains and mother of dragons.

  10. Favorite character has to be, hands down Varys. He’s the only person that, we believe, truly wants what’s best for the Realm. his decisiveness and cleverness makes him a great character!

  11. How is everyone’s favorite character not Tyrion Lannister? He’s on everyone’s side and no one’s side. The subtlety in which Peter Dinklage delivers his lines is simply superb. He’s the smartest character in the books and the show. He had BETTER survive until the end!

  12. Is it even possible for Tyrion to not be your favorite character? Just kidding..

    PLEEEEEAAAAASSEE!!

  13. Sansa…simply because she’s been through Seven Hells the last five years and she’s managed to stay alive (despite Joffrey and Cersei). In the beginning, I thought she was going to be a meek little kitchen mouse. She’s proven me wrong a lot the last year.

  14. Jon Snow of course. Yes, mostly for shallow and superficial reasons. Second is our favorite imp. And I wish we saw more of Doran. I like what I’ve seen of him so far.

  15. Tyrion and Jon are my favorites, but Ned was my favorite in the first book/season =(
    I can’t wait for Season 6!

  16. I feel spoiled with contests! At the moment, Varys is my favorite character in the show. I wish we saw more of him.

  17. My favorite book character would be Jon Snow.
As for the Show my favorite character would be Tyrion. He seems like one of the only character with a good head on his shoulders and wants what is best but also is very witty smart and funny.

  18. Ser Jorah Mormont. He is one if not The wisest man on game of thrones. He fights for the right thing and is more loyal then any dog alive. (not Sandor Clegane).
That is why i got a Ser Jorah Mormont figure for Christmas 🙂
And i mean Show Jorah ofc.

  19. Chenkui. My name Borat. I from great nation of Kazakhstan. Pls give me dvd so that I can make sexy explosion by looking at Premiere Queen Khaleesi’s vagine.

  20. So many good characters to choose from, but I think Brienne is my favorite overall, especially in the books.

  21. Lord Roose Bolton, Lord of the Dreadfort, and Warden of the North is my favorite character. A close second would be Ned Stark.

  22. Jaime Lannister. Not because he is necessarily a good person (yet), but because he has arguably the most dramatic and richest character arc in the series. Anytime you can take a character who is introduced to the audience by screwing his sister and attempting to murder a child and have the audience actively rooting for him by season 6, you’ve created an interesting character.

  23. I have a lot of favorite characters on the show, to hard to pick just one.
Jon snow, tyrion lannister, bronn, Jaimie Lannister, arya stark, The on greyjoy, tywin, Brienne of tarth, podrick, Dany and Jorah, sam.

I have to many favorite characters in this story to be honest XD

  24. Favorite character is: Tyrion Lannister!! Thanks for the chance to win. I am headed over to Twitter.

  25. My favorite character is Daenerys Targaryen. Khaleesi! Thanks for the giveaway! Good luck everyone!

  26. My favorite character would have to be Jaime Lannister. I tend to prefer anti-heroes, and I get that vibe form Jaime. The gradual transformation from his arrogant and relentless self to becoming a more self-aware knight and caring father, has been my favorite arch.

  27. Since we’re picking favorite characters, I’d say Raegar is my favorite. With that, thanks for yet another giveaway and please enter me.

  28. Favorite character? Probably has to be Lyanna Stark even though she isn’t in the show (yet) or alive during the books. Just from how Ned describes her in the books made me love her. “Beautiful, and willful, and dead before her time.” <3

  29. My favorite character has always been Arya Stark, ever since the beginning. Her journey is the most interesting and I feel she is the best character ASOIAF/GoT has to offer.

  30. Ygritte, and my unconditioned love for Rose Leslie has in no way influenced my decision.

  31. In the absence of Euron (for now), I have to go with… Jaime fookin’ Lannister! He’s one of the best characters in the entire series, somehow going from a detestable, regicidal, (attempted) child-murdering slime to a surprisingly sympathetic, badass antihero. Massive props to George and D&D for pulling that off, and to Nikolaj for his masterful performance!

  32. Daenerys Targaryen, called The Stormborn, Mother of Dragons & Breaker of Chains. True Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, and Queen of Meereen.

  33. My favorite character is for sure Arya Stark. She’s one of the toughest survivors and is true to herself to a fault. She oddly reminds me of my gray/liver/stark colored shih tzu, who I am considering renaming Nymeria. They both are stubborn and fearless and get mistaken for boys. I talk about my dog a lot. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  34. Clarence dick crab is by far my favorite character. His stories of the squishers will be one I hope to tell my children and my children’s children.

  35. Wow. It’s so difficult to pick just one favorite character. So I guess I’ll just give a top five.
    Jon Snow
    Daenerys Targaryen
    Tyrion Lannister
    Bran Stark
    Sansa Stark
I would forever be grateful if I won!
Honestly, I’m already forever grateful to Sue and the WotW team for helping me to survive the off-season with their exclusive and very entertaining scoops and set spoilers. This year has been fun, knowing there’s so much to look forward to in Season 6! The wait is almost over, kids… GET HYPE!!

  36. Jon Snow has been my favorite character since the beginning, because I think he holds the key to bringing the storylines together, the mystery surrounding his origin is one the most intriguing plotpoint. And its always been clear that he would have some role in the final payoff, but how its gonna play out is far from obvious.

  37. Sansarya is hoping for the DVDS, but would never be so impolite as to turn down the prize if I win….

  38. My favourite character has to be Old Nan. The most under played character of them all. Yes, I love Jon, and Tyrion and Verys but Old Nan knows it all. Which Bran was she to serve? Where did she come from? How does she know as much as she does? Where is she? Interesting character, all the kids remember her and her stories at important times. All her stories sound like folk but are darn true. I love her and cannot wait to hear about her and Hodor and their part in the north.

  39. i think jon snow is one of my favorite base on his hidden history there is so much detail behind him , untold story fill with a story that many have no clue except ned stark who died with that untold story

  40. Blu-Ray! Blu-Ray! Blu-Ray!
Amazing characters, tough to pick just one… Margaery Tyrell
    Oh and Ghost

  41. Gimmie that

My fave would be that bastard Jon Snow, with Ghost on the side

They better give us mucho Ghost in season 6.

  42. There is no word for thank you in Dothraki… 🙂 but thanks for this chance to win!

Brienne would be my favorite female from the books and show despite my screen name. The Hound is my favorite male character… Davos and Theon after that. So many good characters to pick from!

  43. Drogon and Ghost are kinda tied for my favorite non-speaking characters. My favorite speaking character would have to be Varys. I just want to know how his story ends up!!! Also, Blu-Ray, yay!

  44. Cersei… Like I know she’s slightly evil and all but she’s such a detailed interesting character, ultimately out to protect her children (in a slightly psychopathic way)

  45. My favorite is definently Tyrion.
“I will hurt you for this. A day will come when you think you’re safe and happy, and your joy will turn to ashes in your mouth. Then you will know the debt is paid.” I love when he says this to Cersei!

  46. It’s a tie between Arya and Tyrion, although there are so many fantastic characters to choose from.

And of course I’m on Jon Snow’s side in all of this….and I’m also sort of on Dany’s, so my head will explode if they end up fighting each other.

  47. Favorite Character in the show has to be Davos. I want to be friends with Liam Cunningham.

From the book, Wyman Manderly is a BOSS. One of the best speeches in the series with the North Remembers speech, not to mention this little gem:

“Though mayhaps this was a blessing. Had he lived he would grown up to be a Frey.”

  48. Tyrian is by far my favorite character on the show. One of my favorite lines of his is just two simple words … “Guess again!” He killed that scene.

  49. Thank you for this generous give-away.

My favourite misunderstood character from the books would be Jaime Lannister. My all time favourite characters would be the trio Jon, Daenerys and Tyrion.

  50. I love Daenerys but my favorite is probably Jorah… Or the two of them together…. Ok maybe I’m just being a Jorah-Dany shipping fangirl again ?

  51. Cersei Lannister hands down. Margaery is a close second. Love people who use their words over their swords

  52. Once Ned lost his head, I swore my complete and everlasting fealty to one Jon Snow. Some may say he’s bland and not grey enough, I say it is a lot more difficult to choose to do the right thing rather than the easiest. My favorite minor character is Tormund.

  53. I can’t believe how hard it is to come up with a favorite character. I’m fully engrossed in every storyline.

  54. Sansa Stark is my favorite character. Her arc has been a slow burn but has shown her resilience and strength. A true underrated underdog.

Can’t wait to see her finally kick some ass this season! #QueenintheNorth

  55. It’s probably something like a 5-way tie between Arya, Sansa, Brienne, Tyrion, and Jaime, but I feel like it all depends on the season (and my mood!) Love so many characters.

  56. Tormund Giantsbane – Tall-talker, Horn-blower and Breaker of Ice, Husband to Bears, the Mead-king of Ruddy Hall, Speaker to Gods and Father of Hosts

  57. I believe that I should win this time.

    Pleeeeeeeeeeez

And I don’t have a favourite character, I love ’em all (now that Meryn Fucking Trant is dead).

  58. PoV character: Arya
    Secondary character: Varys
    Tertiary character: BR

“GoT” it already but I will give it to a friend if I win!

  59. Daenerys “Stormborn” Targaryen

Current World Featherweight Champion of frustrating her fans.

  60. In the books, my favorite character is Cersei. She is completely insane, I love to hate her!

In the show, Daenerys. I’m waiting for her to bring Fire and Blood to Westeros 🙂

  61. My favorite character is Melisandre because not only does she look awesome with her red hair but she’s also ambiguous. Neither good nor bad.

  62. My favorite is Tyrion, but I’m most looking forward to Jon’s storyline this season (even though he’s died and won’t be back, blah, blah, blah). 😉

  63. My favorite character is Catelyn Stark. She is the fierce momma bear of the family and I was so upset when she died (for a little bit 😉

  64. My favorite character from the books was Arya, and Maisie has done an outstanding job of bringing her to life.

  65. Jon has been my favorite character since the moment he gave Needle to Arya. Yes, he’s not the most entertaining character or the most complex, but there’s something to be said for a character who is just a damn decent human being in this series.

    Favorite characters:

    Books:

    1. Jon
    2. Jaime
    3. Tyrion
    4. Ned
    5. Arya

    Show:

    1. Jon
    2. The Hound
    3. Arya
    4. Ned
    5. Davos

  66. this is really hard. I would say it has become Jon Snow. The character has become more and more interesting as the show progressed.

I sympathised a lot with Dany in the first season, but she has become a little bit bland.

  67. Tyrion

book stuff: where do whores go?

Show: ” I am a person who drinks. People who drink need to keep drinking.” That was awesome in season 5.

  68. My favorite is probably Ser Davos. He’s such a likable guy, deals with a ton of shit, takes his licks when he deserves them, and speaks his mind.

  69. My favorite character is the badass with a heart of gold, the Hound. A man’s got to have a code.

  70. Oh my…the choices! Okay, I think for the show, I’ll have to go with Tyrion.

  71. This is an impossible question! There are so many great characters, all beautifully portrayed. Davos and Varys always make me smile.

  72. I’m going to say Littlefinger/Petyr Baelish is my favorite character. He seems to be involved in everything one way or another and it’s very intriguing to watch his schemes unfold!

  73. Jon Snow and Arya are a tie for me. In the books, those two have always been great, and Kit and Maisie have done a marvelous job with their characters on screen. It’s ridiculous just how many GREAT characters the show and books have. It’s also nice to see some smaller characters from the books have more depth and space on the show. Margaery, Ygritte, Bronn, Lady Olenna, Shireen, Selyse, Gilly, Jaqen, Pycelle, Varys, Osha, Robb and Podrick are just some examples that come to mind.

  74. Favourite? Hell, I’ll tell you my top five!

    1. Arya
    2. The Hound
    3. Tyrion
    4. Varys
    5. Jaime

  75. This is a near impossible thing you ask! I’m going to go with The Hound, Sandor Clegane a rough but endearing rogue.

  76. So excited for the new season and for the Blu Ray!!! So wouldn’t resurrected Jon Snow still technically be a bastard even if R + L = J?

  77. My favourite character out of all of them is probably Stannis as he’s honest, fierce and unwilling to give up. Out of the ones who are alive, probably Varys on the TV show. His scenes are always fun to watch as they can be quite amusing with his dialogue and how he interacts with others.

  78. Podrick Payne… Very curious to see what he is hiding in those breeches 😉

  79. My favorite characters in the TV show are Jon and Sansa. I love their respective story-lines. In the books, I love the Theon chapters as well, they have a talent for making me cry.

  80. Tyrion Lannister, not because I like the Lannisters, but because Tyrion is a great character and is even better on the show. No one else could play him like Peter Dinklage and I can’t wait to see Peter on SNL.

  81. My favorite is Arya. I imagine I would have been very similar to her character if I lived in an age with magic, dragons, and ice zombies.

Second on the list is Meera. Natch. 😉

  82. My favorite character is probably Jorah. You have to respect a character who’s so single-mindedly devoted to his queen that he would return after being banished twice. He has a good heart.

  83. My personal favorite has got to be the Hound. I not only love how colorful his dialogue is. But how brutally honest he is. He may be more honest than Ned Stark. I really hope he returns.

  84. Sir Davos “The Onion Knight” . Came from nothing, achieved, and proudly carries the name the people gave him.

  85. My favorite character in the books and show is Ser Davos Seaworth

    Nick Hartley does not sow!

  86. Some times in our lives, we all need game of thrones, oh wait nevermind, it’s all the time.

  87. My favorite character is Davos Seaworth. A truly honorable, decent man, better than most of the so called heroes and knights.

  88. Hodor! Would love to win the Blu-Ray set. My fiance hasn’t seen all of season 5 so this would be an amazing way to get caught up before season 6 starts. Can’t wait!

  89. Gotta go with the Onion Knight.

Steadfast and true, a real friend of the smallfolk, Davos is the hero Westeros needs.

  90. Tyrion is the best and my favorite character. He represents EVERYTHING, he has power because of his mind, the strongest way of power, the esence of the game. “the true son of Tywin” . Judged twice, tried to kill half dozen times, talent to turn enemys to friends, “good at convincing others to do violence for me”, saved a city, killed the strongest player (his dad), Im sure he´ll command a dragon =-)

  91. Petyr Baelish, for sure. He is dangerous in a way that the other characters can’t even contend with. He scares me, lol

  92. Am I allowed Rhaegar as a favourite? Never appeared, but discussed with much intensity, could be the lynchpin to understanding the SOIAF and TPTWP!

  93. Jon snow from the beginning. And his other half, Ghost.
    So many in tier 2.
And at the bottom, Cersei. I know Lena’s great but I grew bored of the character.

  94. Stannis baratheon
Though its seems that I’m the only who didn’t go nuts after what happened to him in the finale

  95. Ok, I’m entering the contest and my favorite character is/was Stannis Baratheon. Yes, I know he was a flawed man and a religious zealot, but seriously as a character he was committed to his goals.

  96. Brynden Rivers, aka Bloodraven, aka the Three-Eyed Crow, aka the Last Greenseer. For having the best nicknames, obviously.

  97. Henry,

Stannis, yes. I was afraid I was the only person who would choose him. His plot line was a train wreck but you got the feeling that if a few things hadn’t totally gone off the rails he would have been a good king.

  98. I would be ever grateful if you pick me 🙂

In the books, I’d say Jaime Lannister, followed by Arya; in the show it’s gotta be The Hound, followed by Arya.

    Cheers!

  99. My favorite character is Davos. Out of all the characters he’s the only one who sticks with his morals.

  100. My favorite character is Tyrion. 🙂 I met GRRM at a party on Labor Day weekend in Boston in 2004, and he told me that Tyrion is also his favorite character.

  101. It’s impossible to pick one favorite character!! But if I must choose, I’ll choose an incredibly interesting one: Arya Stark.

  102. Go Team Sansa! She’s been underestimated the entire series. That could prove dangerous to enemies of House Stark.

  103. Sansa. Show more than books. She’s gonna be a force to be reckoned with, I can feel it!

  104. My favorite character is Jon Snow
Does that make me the riddle and not the riddler???

  105. On the show?
Cersei! Hey, you don’t always have to love the cliche “good”/”likeable” characters.
I think Cersei is amazing. Lena Headey has given her so many layers and depth.
    Have a good day!

  106. Here is my attempt at got season 6 poetry:
sheep , a kid and some evil dude
I know the dragons aren’t rude
but burn burn burn burn and burn
and dothrakis now it’s your turn
for a long time hbo fed
the nonsense that Jon is dead
but we know he shall rise
a little stiff but far more wise
    sansa baby it’s your game
and the north remembers your name
    you don’t need that littlefinger
and bronn is a superb singer

  107. continue
    ……

arya ditch that house of black and white
we can’t wait to see you fight
your eyes may not have the light
but we all know your might
but your situation is a little tight
    you will eventually be alright
    tyrion make those harpys pay
    make those evil basterds say
    “half man is our daddy
we will give up now and start growing paddy ”
olly we hope Jon chops your head
and Mr, throne you so so dead
cersi will you go so mad
but you are the best Jamie ever had
he is his own nephews dad
tommen you will die soon, so don’t be sad
act like king , be a good lad
    …………….The end……….,

    my fav is tyrion

  108. Jon Snow. He sees the big picture when it comes to the White Walker threat. Despite the great divisions between the relm and the Wildlings, he hasade progress towards uniting the two. It’s unfortunate(if understand able) that many of his fellow Watch members don’t share this view. All that being said, he is very human, and does have his flaws.

Honorable mentions: Sir Davos Seaworth, Robb Stark, Eddard Stark, Aryia, Tyrion Lannister,Yoren

  109. game of thrones or a bag of scones? my son goes for the latter, but I’d prefer the blu ray. thanks!

  110. It has to be Dwarf Coc…. I mean Tyrion, for a show that has so much savagery, drama, shock and awe, his humour and one liners balance out the show, that show being the best on TV

  111. So, my favorite character was Stannis, I guess he doesn’t count. My 2nd favorite was Jon Snow… he doesn’t count :)). Maybe Jaime, even if his material for S5 was laughable 🙂

  112. My favorite character is undoubtably Gylbert Farwynd. He’s the only character in the series that actually makes any logical sense.

  113. I know it’s just too easy to say Tyrion, but he really is my favorite character. With the Hound and Tormund Giantsbane tied for a close second.

  114. As far as the TV show is concerned and portrayals, Bronn of the Blackwater. With Lord Varys as a close second.

Book wise, Jon Snow or Arya have me most interested.

  115. I apologize, before I thought I posted my edited reply…but my favorite character is Lord Snow/The Bastard of the North/my main man Jon Snow..er, Stark..um..Targaryen?!?!

  116. Ah it’s so hard to pick one above the others. I guess I’d probably go with Jamie Lannister. I’ve always been a bit of a Lannister fan boy and I love the depth we’ve seen with Jamie’s character. He starts off as this seemingly awful guy but through the series we really get to understand why he’s been the way he has and done the things he’s done. I think it all combines to create a complex character with so many shades of grey and those are always my favourite types to read.

    Thanks for the contest 🙂

  117. My favorite character is Tyrion Lannister; I love his storyline and his perspective, humor and pathos, can’t beat it!

  118. My favorite character has always been Ned Stark, I related to him the most and his code of honor spoke to me.

  119. Book Arya is my favorite! 2nd to her is Show Arya then 3rd favorite is Show Jon Snow.

    I’m B from NYC(FKA just “B”)

  120. Even though I find Tyrion, Varys and Petyr the most intriguing and interesting characters, I gotta go with Arya. What’s not to like of a fierce untameable tomboy girl?

  121. My favourite character would have to be Littlefinger (in the show). Aiden Gillen does such a great job. His character is so devious and I’m always trying to guess at was his game plan and overall goals are!

  122. Okay, I missed this yesterday, but I must say…pick ONE?????

The obvious choices are all the main characters and I couldn’t pick just one, often we overlook the ones that come and go…who we may not identify at once, but do appreciate.

I’d have to say, for that reason, Natalia Tena as Osha. Although she doesn’t have a ton of screen time she does a great job playing Osha.

  123. My favorite character on the show is Ser Allister Thorne because he’s about 75% villain but has some redeeming qualities as well.

  124. Patch face!, with the honorable mention going to quaithe! Sweet that there’s a 2nd shot at this

  125. My favorite character is Jon Snow. But 7 hells if Tyrion Lannister isn’t a close second!

  126. Arya Stark. She’s just about as lost and alone as I am…I’m rooting for her happiness and survival (:

  127. The best parts were as follows:

1.) Jon’s speech to the wildlings.
2.) The duel with the White Walker where it was unveiled that Valaryian steel can defend against the white walker’s weapons (and the realization from the white Walker that he was toast)
3.)The staredown during the departure at Hardhome and the raising of the dead.

  128. It’s hard to choose, but if I have to only pick one, I choose Daenerys.
    Fire and blood, haters.

  129. My favorite character has to be Jamie Lannister. He is an great study of how you can change your evil ways, for the most part…

  130. Davos is my favorite. I want him to come to all my dinner parties and be my best friend.
But Jon breaks my heart. Even though I new it was coming, I could barely sleep for at least a week after FTW. Hopefully he has a righteous path in season 6.
Sansa! May she soon find her power.
Arya, I’m hopping she finds a place with Nymeria.
Tyrion, I’m looking to him for a few pointers to include in my development plan :-).

  131. My third allowance to get something (please keep in mind I have never won anything, minus the good looks lottery at birth ;)).

  132. The best moment of season 5 would have to be Cersei’s imprisonment and her walk of shame. I see it as literary symmetry between her and the Mad King – he was engulfed by paranoia after he was held prisoner at Duskendale. If George is a fan of history repeating itself, then could Cersei potentially become the Mad Queen?

  133. Arya. She is the best character in the books AND in the show. Maisie portrays her beautifully. I always wish I had at least a little bit of Arya in me because she is that amazing.

  134. Sansa Stark is my favorite in the show, she has grown from a self-centered girl into a strong woman who I believe will have a more central role in the North in the future. Season 5 showed us small glimpses of the independent woman she can be and I look forward to season 6 where we will continue to see her fight for her survival.

  135. Melissa Blackwood:
Drogon and Ghost are kinda tied for my favorite non-speaking characters. My favorite speaking character would have to be Varys. I just want to know how his story ends up!!! Also, Blu-Ray, yay!

I have to second this. I love the Dragons and I love the wolves. Guess that makes me a cross between a Stark and a Targaryen?

For speaking characters, I would have to go with both Arya and Tyrion. I simply love both of them and enjoy watching their progressions.

  136. It’s a hard question, but my favorite character is Cersei Lannister.
The Queen mother, always drinking her fancy wine, dressed in fancy clothes. Arrogant, sometimes powerful and dangerous with her actions, sometimes fragile and sensible, a human being who fights to keep her place in this insane and wonderful game.
A huge brazilian fan here, the lord of light saw in the flames that this blu ray will be mine.
