House of the Dragon will begin filming season two as early as Spring of 2023, returning to the Spanish city of Cáceres!
Families grieve and conflict brews in new stills from episode 7
The new promotional stills from episode 7, taken by Ollie Upton, show us Targaryens and Velaryons attending Laena’s funeral together and hint at yet further family dysfunction.
The Night’s Cast: House of the Dragon Ep 6, “The Princess and the Queen”
After last week’s hard-hitting (heh) wedding episode we’ve jumped ahead in time by 10 years this week on House of the Dragon, to see that Princess Rhaenyra has just given birth to her third child, albeit of questionable parentage — and that tensions are high surrounding the line of succession.
The Princess and The Tweeter: A House of the Dragon Twitter Recap
They weren’t kidding around about those Targaryen house words, were they? Fire and Blood reigned (and rained) on this week’s episode, “The Princess and the Queen.” What’s House of the Dragon without a little heartbreak, or a lot, as it were. This week, Twitter lost it over the fiery ends and the betrayals. There was a shit ton of “NOOOOOOOOOO”s for the Strongs and Laena, and a lot of loathing for Larys, Alicent and Criston.
As always with our recap, please be patient with the loading time on the app. Thank you and enjoy it as much as Aegon loves a nice window!
House of the Dragon Post-Mortem of “The Princess and the Queen”
The tension (and the heartbreak) is ramping up as we head into the second half of House of the Dragon’s first season. “The Princess and the Queen” introduced new characters, killed off existing ones, and had us questioning where our loyalties should lie. The drama will only get more intense as we hurtle toward the finale, so let’s shout “dracarys” and bathe ourselves in the fire of today’s interviews and videos!
Unsullied Recap House of the Dragon Season 1 Episode 6 “The Princess and the Queen”
Guns do not exist in Westeros. But by God, there are plenty of men shooting bullets.
Holy shit. Where did all these kids come from? Who the hell are they? Where the hell are your parents? And who are these little dark-headed shits? The show skipped ahead ten years because they knew we had no interest in watching a full season of Romper Room. Good move, showrunners.
House of the Dragon Review/Recap Roundup Season 1 Episode 6 – the Princess and the Queen
Happy House of the Dragon Week episode 6 week, everyone! Remember me? It’s me from just last week! Honestly, though, I would forgive you this time. I’m 10 years older. I’m 10 years more balding. I might even be played by a different writer on WOTW this week, who knows? As you remember (or in case you’ve forgotten), every week, for each new episode of HOTD, I’ll be deconstructing the multitude of reviews out there, boiling them down to one short summary sentence that will perfectly encapsulate what the original author was saying, no questions asked…and by that I mean that I will deconstruct whole essays down to one sentence apiece, often quoting them verbatim.
What I will do is attempt to summarize the original review as best I can, and if my tease whets your appetite for their style of review, you are encouraged to head over to their site and let them know…after of course letting us know your thoughts in the comments below. At the bottom, I will summarize my review of the reviewers’ reviews.
All squared? Jolly good, let’s dive in.
House of the Dragon Season 1 Episode 6 “The Princess and the Queen” Recap
This week I sit the Recap Throne as we leap forward a decade in time to reconnect with our cast of maladjusted, well-dressed royals, some of whom have been aged up via recasting, some via prosthetics, and some of whom haven’t aged at all.
Spoiler note: This recap and the comments section may contain mild spoilers from George R.R. Martin’s novels and Westeros histories, whether or not that material has appeared on the show yet. If you have not read the books and wish to remain completely Unsullied, we encourage you to check out our non-book-reader recap by Oz of Thrones!

Tonight’s House of the Dragon episode should be quite special: by jumping ten years forward and swapping the younger cast, “The Princess and the Queen” will serve as a new premiere of sorts. It has the runtime to justify that, too, as the second longest of the season. We’ll see if it excels in quality as well as quantity!
