Here are some of today’s highlights of interviews with Game of Thrones cast members, sharing funny moments and teasing season 5.
First up, we have Maisie Williams telling TV Line that she doesn’t know what’s up next for Arya Stark.
“I don’t know, honestly. We’re starting to catch up with what’s been written, so I’d love to do something completely new. Again, I’d love to keep making the book readers go, ‘Wait, is that what’s going to come in the next book? Did they make that up completely?’ I love it when we do something really dramatic and shock everyone. They should throw in more stuff that no one knows about,” Maisie tells TV Line.
Carice van Houten checked in again from the set, showing off parts of her red costume via her Instagram and Twitter. First the boots…. Continue reading →
George R.R. Martin chatted with The Daily Beast recently, post-San Diego Comic Con, and the conversation centered on the controversial and much-analyzed sept scene from “Breaker of Chains.”
Since the episode aired in April, the scene between Jaime and Cersei in the sept had been often debated, with some calling it a complicated but ultimately consensual sex scene, and some viewing it as rape. The episode director Alex Graves, writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, and the actors themselves have all weighed in on the subject, conveying their intentions for the scene. But the debates continue.
Though Game of Thrones season 5 filming began last week with the well-known pink GOT signs popping up across Northern Ireland, it’s revving up now with several cast members arriving in Belfast.
Reliable sources have informed us that the first costume fitting for the unsullied extras in Split will take place during next week, which means that shooting there is just around the corner. The juiciest bit of news from Croatia is connected to Dubrovnik, though.

Before the break I would like to extend you my personal welcome to WotW. A new name for us to get used to, but with all the familiar people and content, by the fans for the fans. It is a privilege to be part of it all. HmR signing off 😉
With filming beginning this week, the casting updates are rolling in, and we have news for you on two minor characters from season 4.
In the season finale, Arya Stark escaped Westeros with the help of a Braavosi sea captain played by Gary Oliver. According to the actor’s CV, he’ll be back in season 5 as the captain, Ternesio Terys. No doubt we’ll see him as Arya continues on her voyage and arrives at her destination.
And back in Westeros, there’s Frey news. Well, Bolton now.
The major additions for Game of Thrones season five were unveiled Friday at San Diego Comic Con, leaving some to wonder if that was it for new roles this year. But of course, there are several small parts in every season of the show, and fresh info has to come to us at WatchersOnTheWall.com, filling us in on more of what we can expect to see next year.
According to our sources, several roles are being cast currently, including an unnamed character that matches the description of someone familiar to readers of A Feast for Crows.
At San Diego Comic Con, Entertainment Weekly‘s James Hibberd rounded up George R.R. Martin and the cast of Game of Thrones to talk about the show and what’s in store for the future.
George R.R. Martin reveals that he actually won’t be writing an episode at all for season 5, because, “I have this book that I have to finish!” He adds that he “figured [he]’d better write the book rather than the episode.” Season 5 will be the first year to have no episode penned by the author.
FaB—ahh, sorry—Axey here, with our very first (of many, I hope) editorial/discussion posts!
I’d like to start off by saying Thank You to all of you for giving us a chance to try and give you your Game of Thrones info fix the way we want to present it. I won’t sling mud or go into any wild, wacky details as to why the move was necessary for us, but… still. We appreciate you being here.
Water under the proverbial bridge. This is the now. As my brethren have already stated, we want to make this site into something every Game of Thrones fan will want to come to, so don’t be shy about recommending things you’d like to see.
Onto topic: This post is going to be a book-to-screen adaptation discussion. As such, we will be talking about many things that may spoil the books (and probably the show). Unsullied viewers are strongly advised not to read this or take part in the discussion that follows. It is for this reason that spoiler text will not be required in this thread.
(My original thought was to post this on our BRAND NEW FORUMS, by the way, but not enough people even know we have forums yet, and sadly, forum topics are not auto-announced on Twitter.)
The Game of Thrones Q&A from San Diego Comic Con is finally online, courtesy of Flicks and the City!
The Q&A opens up with friendly banter between Rory McCann and Gwendoline Christie over their characters’ duel, before moving on to topics such as what book god would George R.R. Martin worship, whether ASOIAF fans should keep watching the show as it catches up with the books, and how do the actors prepare for their roles.
Around the 15:50 mark in the video, Kit Harington reveals that he starts filming on Monday for a “great scene.”
