Greetings, Throners, or whatever cutesey identifying subculture nomenclature you’ve claimed for this week! Axey here, summoning up some actual work ethic for the second week in a row to bring you your weekly Twitter fix. This week’s offering (weirdly!) is a direct result of the latest Game of Thrones episode, known colloquially and in some distant circles as Stormborn.
As ever, I trolled the whole of Twitter, scouring through the #GameOfThrones hashtag, as well as the #GoTs7, #DemThrones, #ThronesYall, and #Stormborn tags. In some cases I found brand new Tweeters, ready and willing to poignantly opine as to the “hotness” level of various Westerosi characters; in most cases I just went back to the ol’ bucket, ripping tweets from known entities and regular ne’er-do-wells.

Random Thought: The close the door thing is a bit of a callback to Winter is Coming; Jaime wanted Tyrion to hurry up, so he sent the rest of the Northern prostitutes in to join him and Ros. When Jaime leaves, Tyrion shouts……….close the door.
Thanks Axey – Fine job. This is so needed in the middle of the week, when we think we’ve already picked apart the episode right to the nubs, you remind us that there’s humor and humanity yet to be found. It has to be a bitch of a job to plow through all the tweets, pick out the best and compile them into this.
But yeah, why did you leave out the tweets about the teats? All I can say is that Missy is a very very pretty girl, and GW has a fine behind. And to all who may have groaned about showing characters who have genuine love and respect for each other in the middle of all the nastiness that’s shown, a pox on you. We need to be reminded that love and respect still exists, a little bit, somewhere in the world. As for the tweets about the door, it makes me happy to know that I am not the only fan who screams advice to the TV while this show is on.
Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea for Tyrion to be so straightforward about his plans for the Unsullied to invade Casterly Rock. Anyone taking bets on how long before Ellaria blurts out to Cersei and Jaime that their precious home is about to be rent asunder by a foreign invasion? Trying to defend CR is going to divide up their army. Does Jaime have enough troops to both guard KL and defend CR?
There’d better be some real strong meds in that ointment Sam has to put on Jorah’s raw skin. Poor Jorah, I apologise, I laughed out loud at that tweet about the burnt marshmallow. That’s exactly what you look like. I hope they don’t show too much of him after skinning, he’ll look like one of Meera’s rabbits. How many episodes is Broadbent scheduled for? I think I read three – which means next episode is probably his last, and for sure he’s going to boot Sam and Jorah out the door next week.
If wolf Nymeria was art, it was some amazing art, because she looked real.

Ooops, I just read an old article about Jim Broadbent/Archmaester Ebrose, where he said he did 5 episodes, so maybe Jorah and Sam won’t be booted from the Citadel next week, maybe they’ll actually get some help from him. Can’t wait until Sunday.
I think that his obsession with her is just about over, tbh. It’s looking like, now that she is Queen and doesn’t have to bow to anybody, that she’s somewhat over him, too. Remember her face when Euron suggested that killing a brother might be fun? We assumed he was referring to Tyrion, but a look at Jaime looking at her suggested that possibly, possibly she might kill Jaime … If he’s having any doubts at all, one wrong move from her will tip the scale, and he will be on his way. Not sure where, but he will take off. That’s my humble take on things.
Don’t know what happened there …
Anyway, Dee, you were so good about staying off here for most of the year, avoiding spoilers. I couldn’t do it. I read everything there was about the filming, and all the theories that ebbed and flowed on here during the year. TBH, even knowing a lot of the stuff, didn’t lessen the enjoyment of watching. I’m just dreading the time between season 7 and 8.

I love the Twitter recap. I remember back in the beginning, long long ago, at WiC, when Twitter was so new, and only a few of the fans got on Twitter and live-tweeted. It was a ‘weird’ thing to do back then. And there were so few ppl doing it, we could just look at each other’s tweets in real time as the show went on. Then Axey started to live re-tweet the good ones, cause he was on Pacific time, and three hours behind. He would be retweeting without knowing the context and would still do fabulous! I would be scrolling and reading re-tweets and laughing out loud. And my hubby would get annoyed and say “Are you playing with your laptop, or watching the show??” And the answer was of course, both! And back then, I don’t think we posted any images – everything was all text. Now there are too many people, and too many tweets, but the recap makes it feel like the old days, when we could enjoy everyone’s different reactions at once in real-time. thanks again, Axey, I know this is a lot of hard work, and you do a great job!!
