If you missed Emmy Award-Winning Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi’s Live Concerts in 2017 or 2018, or you merely want to relive it with final season additions, you’ll get the opportunity this Fall, on a 20-city amphitheater tour throughout Canada and the US. If you wish to know the dates for your nearest city, check the details below!
As we say goodbye to one of the biggest shows and scores in TV history, relive the greatest musical pieces and footage from all eight seasons in an immersive outdoor concert experience. Tickets will be available here starting this Monday, May 13!
Featuring special appearances by Ramin himself at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in New York City, FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine, California and Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, the tour will stop at notable outdoor venues across North America. Having first conceptualized the tour several years ago, Ramin will be reworking and redeveloping the musical and visual elements of the concert to create a brand new live experience that encompasses fan-favorite pieces from the entirety of Game of Thrones.
The tour will include new musical arrangements from the series’ eighth and final season such as the “The Night King” theme, Ramin’s epic 9-minute composition that went viral immediately after debuting on the show, garnering millions of streams across the internet, reaching the top 4 most downloaded songs on iTunes and the top 18 most watched videos on YouTube, and dropping the jaws of audiences and critics alike:
“When Game of Thrones Plays Sad Piano Music, It’s Time to Freak Out.” – Vulture
“In a series known for truly cinematic music, this was still a series highlight…Djawadi’s finest on the show.” – Nerdist
“[Ramin] really outdid himself here with the soaring, searching score that gave the episode its own unique flavor while also selling its most emotional beats. It’s a true symphony at times.” – Indiewire
The inaugural run of the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience Featuring Ramin Djawadi kicked off in North America in February of 2017 and was praised by audiences and critics alike as a must-see spectacle for fans of the television series. Following the success of the tour, Ramin embarked on a European run during the spring of 2018 before returning back for a second North American tour in the fall of 2018. To date, the show has amassed a total of 75 arena concerts across the globe. The Guardian described the show as “Westeros brought to dazzling life.” Mashable called it “an epic musical journey,” while the New York Times praised it as “a symphonic spectacular.”
The tour, produced by Live Nation in partnership with HBO, will continue to use innovative music tour production and video technology that will recreate the various realms found throughout Westeros and Essos as well as showcase footage from the series in addition to new imagery created exclusively for the concert.
Ramin has won two GRAMMY Awards and one Emmy Award (and it has been nominated for six of them.) Versatility has defined his career, from celebrated scores for television shows such as Game of Thrones and Westworld; films such as A Wrinkle in Time, Pacific Rim, and Iron Man; and video games including Medal of Honor, and Gears of War 4 and 5.
GAME OF THRONES LIVE CONCERT EXPERIENCE 2019 NORTH AMERICAN DATES:
Remember: tickets will be on sale this Monday, May 13 at 10AM PST, right here.
Can we PLEASE get some northwest dates?
Oh, I wish I lived close enough to go!
The music speaks as much as any of the characters.
See you on September 15
See you on September 11
I’m so excited!!! I work 5 minutes from the first tour date!! 😀 😀 😀
If you can go, go, it is absolutely fantastic, I can’t praise it enough. I am hoping he comes back to the UK. I would love to go again. So Ramin if you are reading this, please please please come back to Great Britain .
Hi all, I think this is my first time posting, but I’ve lurked for ages. I’m so excited that this concert is coming around again. I went in October and it was incredible!
I just wanted to chime in that the listing for Jones beach says New York, NY– that’s a little misleading. Jones Beach is on Long Island, about an hour by train (and then a cab ride if you’re taking public transportation) from the city (and a beautiful venue). Just wanted to say that in case folks unfamiliar with the NY area were planning to travel in.
I am hoping I can go again, especially since he’s adding the new music!!
So does it mean that, other than 3 dates, Ramin Djawadi isn’t even going to be there? Or do the “special appearances” refer to some extra content?
No New Orleans date again, weighing options of talking friends into a road trip to Houston, but it’s not one of these 3 special performances.
YES!!! San Francisco!!! Just 270 miles away, and an excuse for a city getaway…
PLEASE! Portland as my request. I’m really surprised there’s nothing in the PNW. 🙁 I’d love to see the show one more time!
Think I will wait to see how this season finishes before going again.
Aryamad,
I went to the Portland one with my daughter (she lives there), one of her bff’s, another Watcher, and her husband! I wish it was coming back to Portland, but I’ll settle for SF (lol).
Phoenix!!! I live 6 hours away in Mexico but I have to go, I’ve been waiting for this!! The music in GOT leaves me speechless, truly one of the best!
Hell yes, Hartford! The past two years I’ve journeyed down to Mohegan Sun to see Ramin’s concerts live, but Hartford is even closer to my neck of the woods! I’ll be there on September 11 for sure!
I can’t wait to hear “The Night King” played live – I expect it will be every bit as thrilling as it was the first time I heard Ramin play Light of the Seven live during his first concert tour.
I’m also eagerly anticipating the release of the official Season 8 soundtrack – one would imagine that we’ll be hearing news about that in the next few weeks, right? There are so many pieces from this season that I’m keen to listen to in full (to name one, the funeral music from the beginning of the most recent episode, which I thought was just beautiful).
Aryamad,
Exactly! In previous years, it came to Seattle AND Portland, so I’m absolutely bummed to not see a single Northwest venue in the lineup. If it needs an outdoor venue, The Gorge Amphitheatre would be incredible. Can we *please* get a PNW stop? I beg the Old Gods and the New.
I am upset they cut the Columbus, Ohio stop this go around. I couldn’t go last year, so I guess I will never see it again…
A West Palm date! It’s an outdoor venue though, hope it doesn’t rain
NO where near Kansas City, Missouri!!!! BUT they are going to Rogers, Arkansas?? Go ?Figure! sad face.
