The cast of Game of Thrones are beginning to loosen their tongues (a little) in terms of what we can expect in the newest season this spring.

Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) spoke with Loaded saying a lot of storylines will start to come together.

At the NME (New Musical Express) Awards, Wright said:

You’ll see things in season six that have never quite made sense before – and now it will all start to tie up. Stories all start to come together to make sense. I know we say this every season, but this series sees everything get bigger and bigger and bigger.

He also admits he was disappointed not being in Season 5 (who wouldn’t be?) but says nonetheless he still enjoyed his time off.

It was a shame not being in season five, but it was the right time for me to take a year out. I hadn’t done any acting in that whole year out, so it was quite a shock to the system to go back on a freezing cold film set. Once I was back into it, it was great fun.

Head on over to Loaded for the full story!

Loaded also has a video interview with Natalie Dormer where she discusses the recent teaser and the fate/possible redemption of Margaery Tyrell:

Games Radar has another interview from Dormer where she discusses how she’d want Margaery to die, (if that horrific day ever comes) which character she’d bring back, and which one she’d kill off. Watch below!

Hopefully this whets your appetites until the ever so elusive trailer drops but it already seems Season 6 is shaping up to be the best season yet! What are your thoughts? Let us know below!

  1. If Isaac was disappointed that Bran Stark didn’t appear in Season 5, why didn’t they just invent a subplot of Ramsay Bolton torturing him?

Why so bitter, Dragon? Not getting enough awe as of late?

  3. In that image, Bran and the Three-eyed crow seem to be living a past event, in a sort of “Ghost of Christmas Past experience”… I presume he can walk with his own legs during these “trips”… It’ll be very interesting to see some past events! 🙂

  4. It’s so nice to have Isaac back, his interviews are usually a good read and his interaction with cast members since returning have been nice.

I’m not sure if I see Margaery surviving, and while I like her let’s be honest she hasn’t actually done much. She has proven that her seducing is effective but so far it’s come to naught (I’m not sure why she’s presented as so overtly sexual, wasn’t her whole book shtick being a innocent demure maiden etc). I actually like her, but the biggest thing she is credited for is scheming Cersei in arrest (which was more than likely actually Varys, there is no way they would hold Marge so close to the fire on the off chance she’d take Cersei down with her and Merryweather definitely seemed to be an agent of Varys – the people that seemed to benefit most from what went down were Varys and Littlefinger – and LF expressed surprise at Cersei going down so fast), it’d be nice if she was given something to do before she’s killed/removed from the game, Dormer has been enjoyable but the writing has been rather one-note for her.

  5. Lysarra,

Come on, Marg has accomplished things! She’s become Queen twice (three times if you count Renly). And the way she handled Joffrey was very impressive, I thought. She won the love of the small folk in King’s Landing with her political savvy. She’s got Tommen well controlled, though that’s not nearly as difficult as controlling his brother was. Sure, she’s in a sticky spot at the moment, but I expect she’ll find a way out of there in the end.

As for where her story ultimately ends, I’d agree that I don’t see what her function would be in the endgame. She may go down with the Lannisters. But I think it’s unfair to the character to say she hasn’t done much, she’s one of the best players of the game!

Sorry, I’m a bit of a Margaery fangirl, can you tell? Haha.

  6. The nikolaj coster-waldau interview when he is Answering the jon snow question was the best lol
Kimmel knows what to ask lol

  7. same thing as always, jon snow is dead.
but it was his facial expression that I loved lol
and Kimmel asked does jon snow walk, and that stranger things happen on Thrones lol
and I think he said right now jon snow is dead.
my memory is shit, so take it with a grain of salt lol XD

  8. The Dragon Demands,

They didn’t want to piss you off even more,i bet they were like no we can’t do that, the almighty The Dragon Demands with his almighty wiki might strike us down. So about those Lena Headey financial details, anymore to share on that ? Or do you need to ask Lindaaaaa’s approval on everything you post ?

  9. Matthew The Dragon knight: and I think he said right now jon snow is dead.
my memory is shit, so take it with a grain of salt lol XD

No, your memory is ok, he said “Look, the guy was stabbed 15 times in the heart. He’s dead.” I had taped it then erased it when it was over, so I can’t remember if he said anything to the effect of “for now.” But the general impression is that Jon is coming back. Nikolaj looked comfortable in his skin, good-looking and at ease. It was a good interview.

I also watched Carice. As an actress she’s amazing and no denying she’s beautiful with a beautiful body. She carried off that skit like a trooper, perfectly. I usually feel embarrassed for actors who recreate their character in a comedy skit, but she was great. I always had a distaste for Melisandre the character, appreciate her more now because I so enjoy any appearance by Carice – she’s always lively and funny. It made me want to make a special effort to check out the new movie she was hyping : “Race,” is the name of it. And if Mel brings back Jon, then I can almost forgive Shireen.

  10. Thronetender,

Nikolaj said: “At the end of season 5 he’s dead, but…” And then he didn’t finish the sentence. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucij7UL1tVA

IIRC it was Natalie Dormer who said that Jon Snow was dead…right now… in a recent interview with Channel 5. But I only read a transcrip and could not watch the video, because I’m not in the UK.

There you have it. I wonder if this is part of the marketing strategy or if people, especially Natalie, grew tired of repeating “He’s dead” over and over again… However, I’m a believer, so I don’t really care 🙂

  11. Isaac’s words are quite intriguing. Not the usual “It’s gonna be big, guys!” or at least not just that.

    The Dragon Demands:
If Isaac was disappointed that Bran Stark didn’t appear in Season 5, why didn’t they just invent a subplot of Ramsay Bolton torturing him?

Why don’t you go suck a tasty lemon? Alternatively, you could spout your nonsense views in the online encyclopedia that you so shamelessly editorialize… oh wait, you already did. My bad.

  12. Mihnea:
    The Dragon Demands,

Dude, you have a serious problem. I advise you seek help…..Or go to the other site, where people spend 90% of their time talking of a show they despise.

Right? I don’t get it. If you spend all your time discussing a show you hate, you’ve got a problem (TDD certainly does… many problems). Then these people usually insist they don’t hate it, which is great news, except for the fact that they have never said a good thing about the show, except when they have adapted something from the books word for word. If you discuss Game of Thrones exclusively to criticize it, I think it’s more than fair if people conclude you are just hate-watching the show.

  13. I love Isaac’s interviews. I think he is the smartest of the young actors in the show, and I think he was particularly referring to his story. Over the past few seasons, the events in Bran’s story have always been confusing for viewers, but now all will start to make sense.

I can not wait to see Bran again, his story is that I’m most excited to see. And it’s really a shame that he was not in Season 5.

  14. The Dragon Demands:
If Isaac was disappointed that Bran Stark didn’t appear in Season 5, why didn’t they just invent a subplot of Ramsay Bolton torturing him?

You had a point here. Last two seasons we had full invented plots just to have some characters/renowned actors onscreen (Yara and the dogs, all Missandei/Grey Worm scenes, Karl Tanner, Brienne, Pod the TriPod…). They could had use Bran to introduce Cersei’s flashback, for example.

I still don’t understand all the logic surrounding “we have no time to tell everything!!!” and “we’re gonna create plots who literally doesn’t add nothing/going to nowhere” at the same time.

  15. Wylie,

Wonder what the people at HBO would have to say about this. So far they have been sticking with the ” dead is dead” line, but the statements made by these two sort of give the game away?

  16. Selina,

He was a lovely child, my heart was broken when he was thrown out of the window, I hated Jaime and Cersei and I was definitely hooked! I’m looking forward to see him as an adorable and clever teenager now, I feel like adopting him!
Isaac’s parents, like the ones of Maisie and Sophie, must be very proud.

  17. Shy Lady Dragon,

Me too. Isaac is lovely, as Bran, and I’ll never like Jaime and Cersei, no matter what they do. I can’t wait to see Bran again, which, like Isaac, is a teenager now.

  18. I really don’t understand “hate watchers”. I got into GRRM’s wonderful books through the show (after season 3), and actually prefer the books because they give you so much more detail and story – as book always do.

However, I LOVE the show. It’s like nothing ever seen before on TV. It’s political intrigue, badass fighting, impending doom, magic… fantasy like it’s never been done before. It’s complex, layered, unpredictable… And the production values are out of this world. All the small details like saddles, wine goblets, and don’t even get me started on the costume and hair/make-up department!

I watch very little TV. GoT is the only one I actually pay for. For a 3 month subscribtion to HBO in my country. All the others, if it isn’t on freeview, I’m not interested, I’ve got a life and other things to do.

That said, I’ve recently enjoyed a couple of freeview shows. Deutschland83 reminds me of my teenage years (Neun und neunzig luftballong…) and the 3rd season of Shetland is great. Mance was the prime suspect, Lord Karstark runs a marina and is interviewed by the polis, and Jeor “Old Bear” Mormont is a Gesga gangland boss. Er… I mean, the actors do their jobs on other shows.

  19. Lysarra:

Marge started off as a sexual kitten, but only when she knew she could make it work. Why play innocent with Renly when she already knows that he’s shagging with her brother? Marge isn’t a POV in the books, so we don’t know if her innocent-schtick in the capital is acted. What we do know is that she definitely plays dumb to make Joffrey (and Tommen to an extent) think they’re in control. In the books, Cersei definitely thinks that it’s all an act, and in the show, it’s not really hard to see why she would. Some would take it as George showing us Cersei’s growing paranoia, but in part, Marge’s acting dumb would make sense.

Also, how is she one-note in Season 5 compared to the previous seasons? She starts of utilizing Tommen, mocking Cersei, then ends up getting caught in a lie, and gets taunted to hell by Cersei. There’s a definite turn there, from which one could glance that season 6 will be a continuation.

    Name *:
Has this been posted? It’s a fun little skit with Seth Meyers and Melisandre.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5C6kG57J7Q&feature=youtu.be

    Okay, dat smile.. xD

Also: “I will never forget the way it emerged from my womanhood” Complete deadpan face.. Carice, we will never forget as well..

And also.. it.. it.. rattles.. It’s a rattlesword.. xD

We don’t want to know.. DENTIST! Ah Bleep! xD

The Gouda reference is because she’s Dutch.. I’m surprised they didn’t use Kit’s heritage (his ancestor invented the “loo”..)

SlayerNina: You had a point here.

Yara and the Dogs: Well.. It served little purpose other then keeping the Ironborn as a faction in the show and not dropping them for 3 seasons. It also showed Ramsay as a capable fighter.

Missandei/GreyWorm: Will they betray Dany out of love? I could definitely see this happening. There storyline would have greatly improved on the books in terms of motive.

Karl Tanner: The mutineers were in the books, they just gave them a recognizable face.

Brienne: I got nothing, but it’s not as if her Feast-story would’ve worked.

    TriPod: Two scenes.. -.-

Cersei Flashback: If Bran saw it, it would be a vision of the past. In a sense, we wouldn’t know that it still haunted Cersei even to this day.

  20. Carice at Late Night, big spoiler:

She wants to eat Dany and fry a dragon..

Maybe “The Ice Dragon” isn’t as unlikely a title as we thought? xD

  21. Ser Oromis Locke,

Thanks for posting, I enjoyed that a lot! Carice is so great and witty and imo she looks even prettier than in character. Maybe it’s just my feeling, because she smiles a lot and looks like a girl to invite at a girls’ night out.

  22. I am so super excited for this season to start. …
everyone is talking about Jon…..but I’m looking forward to tyrion story in mereen..
    I don’t like this word ” big ”
my worst moment in got are the ones where there is no proper build and things happen. ….like the stanis vs Bolton war season 5 ..I mean we get stanis part clearly but how did Bolton got so strong. .how did they have that huge army. …

I’m worried that the show ..In effort to make it bigger and raising the stakes forget logic and story telling…I don’t want shocking moments for the sake of it …….it has to really you know move me..like ned beheading. ..I mean not only that shocked me ( I read the books after I watched the show )..but it paved new direction for the story to move ahead

for me got works best when they build it up slow and smooth ….not as slow as dany …Jon for me is the perfectly build up character. …..

  23. SlayerNina: SlayerNina

Re “we’re gonna create plots who literally doesn’t add nothing/going to nowhere,” given that this is the nature of both Feast and Dance, maybe it’s an example of the show being faithful to the novels?

  24. I’m hoping that the look of the Three-Eyed Raven is more true to the book than the season four depiction… maybe the clean cut look in the photo is just a projection of how he wants to appear.

  25. Ser Creighton Longbough:
In that image, Bran and the Three-eyed crow seem to be living a past event, in a sort of “Ghost of Christmas Past experience”… I presume he can walk with his own legs during these “trips”… It’ll be very interesting to see some past events!

I thought the same thing when that pic came out. A Bransmas Carol!

  26. Just my two cents in regards to the show vs books debate, which I hate.
I was on the fence about reading the books for a while. When I watched the show, I thought the sex/violence/torture was bad enough (compared to what I usually watch) and in reading some things, made the assumption that the books would be far worse. Then I began watching theory and history vids and such and finally decided to give the books a go. I was wrong. They haven’t been as bad and the amount of information, additional characters and plots, and sub plots etc, etc, etc is absolutely incredible. I can see why deletions, concessions and changes needed to be made to fit with the network time frame, and in order to capture the interest of non-fantasy fans. Yes, there are some things I wish I could have seen, and other things I wouldn’t have added but I don’t work in show business and have to adhere to network guidlines, certain social guidelines, and everything else that has to be bickered and hashed out about in order to get the series on the screen. Everyone needs to remember that we live in a corporate world, governed by money and success. So given all that, we are damn lucky to have what we have on the screen. And as book readers we still have the original source to immerse ourselves in anytime we wish to get the full story.
And trust me….as a fantasy fan, just be happy they didn’t do what MTV did to my beloved Shannara books.
Just enjoy each version for what they are because there’s nothing you can do about it and overall, we are very lucky to have them both!

  27. Xanderen,

That picture is clearly a projection. He will certainly have a less clean look in the scenes at the cave. As Bran, in the first picture released in December, Bran was with the clothes he wore in Season 4, and lying on a horse. Now, the last photo, a projection, he is with the clothes they wore in Winterfell and standing.

  28. Tyrion the Myrion:
    SlayerNina,

Wow ,Slayer Nina a book purist and hate watcher agrees with another one, really shocking, really didn’t see that coming at all .

She agreed with a person, who is (almost) a hate-watcher and a devout follower of westeros.org. A person who is turning Game of Thrones Wikia into very unlikable fansite, where the articles are very subjective and openly criticise the show. And anyone who would try to edit his “administrator-level” writing, would be banned from Wikia. On the page, which is dedicated to TV series, “In the books” articles should have never been longer than the main ones. That’s why we have links for “A wiki for ice and fire”.

  29. You have to chuckle at the hostility immediately directed toward anybody who criticizes even part of the show.

You can like the show and still question some of the decisions that were made in it. D&D have explicitly stated that they inserted Sansa into Jeyne Poole’s place in the grisly Bolton storyline from AFFC, because Sansa’s AFFC storyline would not make good TV. They didn’t have anything else for Sophie Turner to do, and didn’t want to give her a year off because they were afraid they’d lose her. Even though I like the show, you have to admit that’s an awful decision (and frankly they wouldn’t be losing much if Sophie did leave the show).

  30. crimethink: because Sansa’s AFFC storyline would not make good TV. They didn’t have anything else for Sophie Turner to do, and didn’t want to give her a year off because they were afraid they’d lose her. Even though I like the show, you have to admit that’s an awful decision (and frankly they wouldn’t be losing much if Sophie did leave the show).

The real problem is that Sansa does not have a storyline in Crows/Dragons. She basically just gets 3 PoV chapters in which almost nothing happens!

And, no, it really was not an awful decision. Sansa probably is going to be important in the end. Moreover, the happenings in the North might be an important plot development in Winter. Theon simply is not important enough of a character overall to carry that on his own: and having him rescue some irrelevant side character would simply have introduced unnecessary complications. So letting Sansa basically steal Theon’s story kept evolving her as a character (which is good, because her dynamic development in both books and show had been a nice example of “stasis”) and kept the Northern plotline in one of the primary character’s storylines.

What this does suggest to me is that GRRM really does intend to make Sansa part of a Big Six and that, in the end, her evolution is going to be important for whatever exact type of “Damned if you do, Damned if you do not” the Song of Ice & Fire story is going to be.

  31. crimethink,

Oh please, everyone who even remotely spent some time on this site knows both Dragon Demands and Slayer Nina are tools who hatwatch the show, your white knighting for someone who agrees with a terrible human being that is Linda,is not doing you any favors .
