Editor’s Note: Last year’s guest post and survey, created by WotW reader James Rivers, was a success and so we decided to do it again this year. Please welcome our guest writer and have fun guessing the episode titles! – Sue The Fury
It’s time once again to crowdsource Game of Thrones episode titles.
We ran an identical survey last year, and apparently had a few greenseers among us. Without any episode descriptions available, we collectively guessed the titles of episodes 2, 4 and 8 (“The House of Black and White”; “Sons of the Harpy”; and “Hardhome”) well in advance. We had another episode title correct, but in the wrong place: “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken” was our top choice for Episode 3, but was used for the controversial Episode 6.
Popular title guesses that went unused on the show last season included “Valonquar” and “A Ghost in Winterfell.” Those could still be used this year, in theory. On the other hand, “Queenmaker” was a common choice and it would seem that’s a title that shall never grace a TV Guide synopsis.
With the books largely behind us, our task will be a bigger challenge this time around. But if you’ve followed the filming reports and the like from Watchers on the Wall, you might have a few good ideas.
It’s pretty simple: Fill in the blanks below. The survey will remain live until February 25th, at noon Eastern Time– or until the first batch of titles leak/are released, whichever happens first. Then we’ll compile the results and see how close everyone came to the mark.
The survey is under the cut!
The survey will be accepted even with blank spots remaining if you’re stumped for a full ten, but why not toss in wild guesses if you aren’t sure. If you have ideas but aren’t certain which episode number the title might fall into, submit the title suggestions in any slot. At this point, episode order is incidental. We’re just having some fun here!
Oh, and note: “The North Remembers,” “What Is Dead May Never Die” and “And Now His Watch Is Ended,” while possibly appropriate titles for Season 6, were already used in previous seasons. Seven hells!
