Owns of the Episode
I just wish they could have bothered to use the makeup on his neck, too. And looking at this header pic I see they didn’t really get to the skin within his eyebrows…
Wylis.
Pic changed. Just talkin’ bout Benjen.
Damn so what happens to Sam now. He can’t go to the Citadel, which makes him a deserter if he doesn’t, theoretically, so he goes on the run with the sword damn his path seems wide open now
I was waiting for Riverland storyline more than Jon’s resurrection , even though He is one of my favourite characters, but Blackfish vs Jaime is so epic!!!
Jaime: “are there any terms you will accept?” Blackfish: “From you? No”. I hope to see direwolf flag on their walls!
Now that you mention it guys… Jogen told Bran that he was the 3 Eyes Raven when he meet him the first time.
Annie,
Jogen?
You mean Jojen perhaps
I just started listening to Game of Owns last week. Just wanted to say hats off to you guys for bringing a great level of enthusiasm to the show.
I used to read/post around here often, but mostly stay away from comments now because I just got sick of the contrarians who turn the smallest of details into the biggest of issues. It’s why I stayed away from the podcast for so long; I just assumed it would be a similar bitch session about what’s wrong with this weeks episode.
Glad that you guys are more level headed than a lot of the fans around here, and can appreciate the show for what it is. I will definitely continue to listen.
Question in the back of my mind: Bran is the Three Eyed Raven. He called out and made his past-father turn. He warged and tethered between past and present.
Can the Three Eyed Raven also be the Lord of Light, same ‘God’, different names, manipulating history, destinies (Hodor, Varys), time and space, speaking and showing visions in the flames?
Unlikely, will be Tully Banners
In the books
So, when/if it is taken back, it is in terms of a totally new way. In this case in the books I reckon there is a civil war of sorts in Robbs old Kingdom, with Sansa taking over the RL area as they’ll follow her (certainly the RL Lords) but the North will likely follow Jon
Sadly this means Rickon is a goner in both
Yeah it gets rather tricky, book readers who are used to layers and layers of depth means they are able to pick apart plot-holes in the show quite quickly
This impacts on the immersiveness sure, but one has to accept that a show adapting such an extensive work can never be perfectly adapted
Sure there’s some things they could have done better, at the same time it’s always good to apply a “wait and see” and often what you get irritated about makes some sense
Eg the timing of this AFfC material matches up with the season arc theme, eg the Lannisters had a big hit last season with Cersei WoS and Myrcella dying in Jaimies arms. SO this season they claw some of it back, which will relate to Jaimie taking firm charge of the Lannister Armies (and his role as Lord of Casterly Rock?) and Cersei probably doing well enough in terms of her trial by combat?
But I expect a catastrophic collapse at the end of the season and they have to go to Casterly Rock. but the book KL plot is made to line up with the AFfC plot and so it makes some sense at least and the degree of whingeing that has occurred wasn’t warranted
Nice episode
Interesting idea but I don’t think it was Bran
If there was one lament, I understood at the time for casting budget reasons etc why they had to skip Bran, but I enjoyed those visions so much, they only lasted half a season and I would have loved if we had been able to see some during season 5 and I’m sure people would have loved to see some visions of Bloodravens past!
Loved the Tarly Dinner scene, Faulkner as Randyll Tarly was fantastic, looking forward to seeing more of him.
Of course Sam has more than proved himself now being a veteran of the Battle of the Fist, killing a WW and fighting at the Battle of the Wall against 100k Wildlings
Sam should have left him there. Tbf he needs to study little Sam perhaps as much as Heartsbane given the kid was literally born to be a White Walker…Randyll Tarly is the kind of guy who could make good use of it should he be leading the Westerosi armies against the WW;s (with Robert and Stannis dead he is now the most capable General in Westeros)
Ah forgot to mention loved the Braavosi Play once again
In particular the Play Margaery with all the flowers in her hair lol
Was just missing “look the pie”
