This episode tonight should be great. Hopefully the wonderful scenes at the Wall won’t be overshadowed by more terrible Dorne scenes. From the 30 second preview, it looks like the Wildlings are going to take down the Night’s Watch. I’m hoping that Thorne is killed by Tormund and that Olly meets a horrific end via Wun Wun punting him over the Wall. I’ve never wanted a kid on a TV show to die so badly.
Slightly Biased Wizards Fan,
Yeah, I would love to see Wun Wun throw Olly over the Wall right into the Land of Always Winter.
Connor,
Only to have the Night’s King resurrect him!
Slightly Biased Wizards Fan,
Also interested in seeing Bran and maybe the Greyjoys? Somewhere along the line I started to like Jaime Lannister as a character, maybe around the time he let Tyrion go or his friendship with Brienne and Bronn. But their family has taken some major losses, maybe second only to the Starks. Wouldn’t mind seeing the high sparrow go.
The complaints about the new Dothraki are very odd to me. Apparently barbarians never had a sense of humor, or had fun?
I don’t think I can disagree more with the idea that spreading the world to Dorne was a good thing for the books either. It’s a major reason why the books are currently so bloated.
Good episode though. Enjoyed the analysis about Melisandre in particular.
Hoping for more consistency in the quality of the scenes in episode 2. Felt ‘The Red Woman’ had a lot of good ones (Melisandre’s reveal was marvelously done), but felt uneven because of a few bad moments. Most interesting for me, will be how they handle the Greyjoys with respect to the Dorne debacle (being another maligned plotline in the books).
The Dothraki scene was mixed for me, so I’ll wait a bit before I judge the actors they picked. Nautufu (sp?) didn’t impress me in that first scene, so I hope he will be better onwards.
Yeah I’m hyped for the Greyjoy and Bran storyline this season (What Is Hype May Never Die!). The Tower of Joy scene I think will be one of the best in the whole series. The Greyjoys have a lot potential this year, I’m very intrigued with what they’re going to do with Euron. I really have grown to like Jamie as well, I think the show has done a terrific job portraying his character development over the seasons.
“What did the stare into her mirror mean?”
Jon looking at his new body?
