Game of Thrones Holiday Gift Guide: Part II

holidaygiftguide

Last week, Nate shared with Watchers on the Wall readers some of this year’s Game of Thrones highlights in part 1 of our gift guide. Just in time for Cyber Monday, we’ll be taking a look at more fun holiday ideas for the Game of Thrones nerds in your life. (If you’re like me, you’ll find a stack of new things to add to your own wish lists!)

In addition to sharing the official merch offered from HBO and Game of Thrones that we love, fans and artists around the world create unique items. In this post, we’ll barely be scratching the surface of what you can discover searching on sites like Etsy and Redbubble.

Let’s get shopping!

There’s loads of lovely Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire-themed jewelry to be found on Etsy in particular. These book quote necklaces by BooksByHerSide show off well-loved quotations from the books by George R.R. Martin. The necklaces come in 16-inch chain ($11.58) and 24-inch chain ($12.36) varieties. Check out BooksByHerside’s shop to view their ASOIAF quote creations.

Another gift idea that allows a fan to display their love for ASOIAF are these A Song of Ice and Fire Mini Faux-book Earrings ($25.00) by FieldsofFandom.  These earrings come in four varieties, so you can wear your favorites of the first four books: A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, or A Feast for Crows.

(I actually own these earrings- I went with A Storm of Swords, my personal favorite.)

Shame sweater
SHAME

The Cersei’s Walk of Shame Christmas shirt ($16.99-19.99) : yes, this is a thing that exists. (Shout-out to FireAndLunch for finding this one.)

The long-sleeved shirt comes in Sparrow black or gray, or more traditionally festive green or red. I’m willing to overlook the wrong number of points on the stars because of the sheer awesomeness of how wrong this is.

Shame, shame, shame.

Since dragons basically act like large snippy fire-breathing cats, this cup makes sense to me! The Mother of Kittens Ceramic Mug ($11.20), by MADOLDCATLADYmother of kittens

dinneriscoming

Another Game of Thrones piece for the kitchen is this handmade and laser-engraved Dinner is Coming Cutting Board, by TheWoodILike. Because no one’s really clear on when winter will be here- but we can count on dinner.  It’ll set you back $14.90 for 9×12 board or $16.90 for a 10×14 board.

If your sympathies lie more with the Targaryens, you can pick up up the round Fire and Blood Cutting Board ($16.90), emblazoned with the dragon sigil instead.

If you want to go all-out for a house loyalist fan, gather up a gift set of your own choosing for the kitchen.

Targaryen Dark Horse

Create a House Targaryen-themed gift package with the House Targaryen Sigil Pint Glass ($9.99), Coffee Mug ($12.99), Shot Glass ($5.99), and Daenerys Magnet Set ($8.99) from Dark Horse Comics.

beercap map

After you’re done with your drinks? Beer Is Coming with this Game of Thrones Beercap Map ($29.99), in the shape of the Stark direwolf sigil. This one is perfect for the beer aficionados among you or in your life. The map, crafted from cork tree, holds 38 caps for the beer fan’s collection.

The plywood version of the direwolf beercap map goes for $24.99 in the shop.

Longclaw minikitThe Longclaw Collectible Mini Kit ($12.95) by Running Press is a neat and affordable present for fans of Jon Snow and his Valyrian steel sword. The kit includes a 4-inch replica of Jon’s sword Longclaw, with a sheath sleeve for the sword, and a stand for displaying the sword. The kit comes with a 48-page mini book about the Night’s Watch on Game of Thrones, complete with full-color series photography.

Three Eyed Raven minikitAnother new release from Running Press this fall was the Three-Eyed Raven Figurine Mini Kit ($12.95).

The kit includes a collectible 3 ½ inch figurine of the three-eyed raven and a 48-page mini book about the raven and the Sight, and features full-color series photography.

CleganeBowlThis next one is a holiday gift for those who still believe: the “CleganeBowl – Get Hype” T-shirt (Unisex Tee: $21.28).

Because it doesn’t matter if one brother was left for dead and the other is- well, no one knows what the heck he is anymore, and – never mind that.

There will be hype. Logic be damned. Get hype.

messenger bag

Another way to wear the GoT love is this new arrival in the HBO Shop: the Game Of Thrones Westeros Map Messenger Bag ($49.99).

This brown cotton canvas bag displays a map of Westeros and Essos across the front flap, along with an adjustable shoulder strap with an antique brass slider, and plenty of pockets.

This year, McFarlane Toys came out with a new line of Game of Thrones construction sets that made a splash at conventions.

The Iron Throne Room ($31.99) is a very cool construction set that allows crafty fans to recreate the beautiful setting from the show, complete with the throne itself.

The set includes the Iron Throne, two candelabras, a stone backdrop, the stained glass window, and more. It also comes with Joffrey Baratheon (plus a Kingsguard, in case you want to have the king ordering his knight to do terrible things as usual).

And finally, here’s a little Iron Throne of your own to add to your tree.

The Iron Throne Resin Ornament ($12.99) stands four inches tall, and comes with the chain attached for hanging. The detailed, scaled replica is the ideal addition when your holiday tree is missing that certain something that says, “I will do anything to win the Iron Throne and no one at this family dinner will stand in my way.”

And there you have it, Watchers on the Wall’s picks in part II of our annual holiday guide. Be sure to check out part I if you missed it!

Also, several of our items are still on sale in the Watchers on the Wall shop, so be sure to check that out.

Happy holidays, merry shopping, and try to avoid bloody family feuds this festive season!

  1. I really love the necklace, I may just have to get myself one sometime after all my shopping is done. And I could totally use the Mother of Kittens mug seeing as my cat literally had kittens 3 days ago (on my birthday no less). These are all so awesome!

Are you going to name 3 of them Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion? Hehe! Just joking.

    Congrats on your kittens. 🙂

  3. Angela,

Haha! I was going through GoT names in my head actually. I’ve pretty much decided I’m going to name the little white male Ghost.

  4. Cleganebowl tshirt made me laugh out loud. Thank you for that. I feel like this must have been made by a WOTW reader.

  5. Thanks, Sue, for the beautiful items in the gift guide. I also visited etsy.com and found out several jewels with dragons, wolfs, ravens and even blue roses for ladies who want to feel like Lyanna. But what I really wanted to see is a real ASOIAF inspired jewelry collection, as imaginative as the T-shirts which were in the contest. Are there any fans who happen to be jewelry designers?

  6. Sue the Fury,

Thanks, Sue! I had a look and those items seemed really expensive. Not only for my budget, but also for how they looked. It’s only their sigils on rings, pendants, necklaces. I would like to feel as enthusiastic as I felt when I saw the beautiful T-shirts. I mean the visuals for jokes and metaphors.

Actually I think they shied away from the expensive stuff. No mention of the valyrian steel swords, dark horse statues or threezero’s action figures.
