  1. Great pics! I’m totally looking forward to the next episode, I think it’s going to be the best one so far.
    And btw: Nymeria = Goddess

  2. I wonder what Tommen is being told/see’s in the first photo of him and a KL guard. Then the second one of Margaery and Tommen, things look pretty tense there.

(I know what I think it could be)
    Still Brothers/Sisters without Leakage!!

  3. The pics look great.

I’ll be really happy this Sunday, when we reach the last of the leaked episodes and I won’t have to fight the temptation of watching the next episode before it airs.

  4. I don’t exactly know why, but that photo of Shireen makes me fear for her safety.

I love the pic of the three Sand Snakes – Nym and Tyene in the middle of what seems to be a heated discussion and Obara just … meditating? xD

  5. Eos,

Sweet Shireen is too good, too pure for this world, and with Melisandre saying last season that the Lord of Light needed Shireen at the Wall, her fanatic mother who enjoys watching people burn and thinks Shireen is sinful, and Daddy Stannis about to leave the Wall, I’m afraid too. Very afraid.

  6. Paul,

Dude, Daenerys has been wearing white outfits since like episode 8 of last season. Meereen Queen Dany wears white.

  7. Wow, Winterfell and the Wall are in it? After seeing the preview video for episode four I assumed one or both of those wouldn’t be in the episode at all. Really looking forward to this.

  8. Dany wears white all season… the opposite of her House color… seems a bit symbolic I think.

  9. bluegoldrose,

I think it’s actually because Cersei has been wearing black and red throught the whole show and that wouldn’t flow well with Dany wearing it as well .

  10. Paul:
    Daenerys in white???

Yeah I think they are showing her in white instead of blue to symbolize how she has lost her strength in Meereen. She always donned blue because it is the colour the khals wear, a symbol of their power.

  11. tyrion101356:

Cersei’s only been wearing black since Joffrey died last season and is continuing to wear it to mourn for Tywin. She wore lots of colours before her family members started dropping like flies. I miss her power red dresses.

  12. RandomSand,

Based on some interviews with Jessica Henwick there will be no nudity:( Such shame…..

I bet it will not stop D+D to tease us with it (but never deliver), similarly to what True Blood writers did with that redhead hottie Jessica.

  13. GaiusB,

Speaking of that actress,is she nude in Daredevil ? I heard she’s in that show but haven’t got the change to watch it yet because of college and other stuff .

  14. tyrion101356,

I suspect not. I only saw the first episode, and there she did her standard True Blood routine – clothes off, but the camera angles not allowed viewers to see anything more then a sideboob.

  15. tyrion101356,

I dont think she is, I just finished watching it. (unless she has a really small role)
And there’s no nude scene on Daredevil, just a really small scene where you can see a side boob.
    Great show though!

EDIT: Epic fail, I thought you were talking about Jessica Henwick. So yeah, ignore my comment.

  16. I hope they burn Shireen before the bitch spreads her nasty gray scale to the rest of westeros.

  17. Lord Snow:
I hope they burn Shireen before the bitch spreads her nasty gray scale to the rest of westeros.

What the hell is wrong with you? Were you dropped on your head?!? Please crawl back under whatever rock you emerged from.

If that was an attempt at humor, keep your day job.

  18. Lord Snow,

Because she has done absolutely nothing wrong. She feels horrible when she sees people being burned, but Robin is filled with joy to see people “fly”. I really don’t understand how you can hate her, much less want her to burn. I can only hope you are not serious.

  19. Wow people take this imaginary story way too seriously. I enjoy the hell out of the books and the show but this fandom needs to lighten up.

  20. Lord Snow,

its not the fact that you don’t like the character, you can like and dislike whomever you wish, but that you were abusive which is totally unnecessary.

  21. Fairly sure Lord Snow was just trolling/making a dark joke. Seems a lot worse than it is because this community doesn’t produce comments like that very often.

(I’m not exactly condoning it, just attempting to explain it!)

  22. Awesome show. Great season so far. Episode 4 is great.

With all of that said…. The Sand Snakes are the worst thing in the history of the show so far. They completely miscast them. The actresses they got are too small and not imposing enough for what they are required to do. I don’t even care about the changes to the Dorne plot from the books. Changes need to be made for an adaption. I just think they needed different people for the roles.

This is first true misstep the show has had so far.

  23. The Bastard,

They aren’t supposed to be particularly big. Obara, maybe; she’s supposed to be bulky, though she’s not described as particularly tall, certainly nothing like Brienne. It’s unfortunate that her actress is the shortest of the three, true enough, but she’s still the most convincing warrior of the three, as she should be. Tyene is described as petite, child-like, which they nailed; and Nym as womanly and sexy, which they also nailed to a tee.

    So… what’s the problem, exactly?

I have not seen them yet so i cant outright disagree with you, but Pedro was overly large either, and he managed to impose himself excellently with his extreme self confidence and attitude, we shall see i guess.

  25. The Bastard:

With all of that said…. The Sand Snakes are the worst thing in the history of the show so far.

The Sand Snakes are the worst thing in the history of the books, too, so they’ve kept at least one thing the same this season. 😉 This is the kind of cheeseball stuff that was fortunately avoided by cutting the Bloody Mummers, Strong Belwas, a host of over-the-top Essos characters, and by toning Daario way the hell down. I would have rather had Arianne and Ellaria while leaving the Sand Snakes completely out of it.

But other than that, I’ve really been enjoying the heck out of season 5, so I’ll grant them the occasional misfire. 🙂

  26. Surprised that no one has commented yet on the fact that the episode synopsis just says “The Faith Militant” as though we have already seen the Faith Militant. I would have called that a spoiler, but no one seems to care or mind. Anyway, that was one of my favorite parts of AFFC, so… yay?

  27. Simeon: The Sand Snakes are the worst thing in the history of the books, too

Doubtful. They’ve hardly made an appearance in the books, and to the extent they have, they are better than Darkstar or Wun-wun.

  28. Chad Brick: Doubtful. They’ve hardly made an appearance in the books, and to the extent they have, they are better than Darkstar or Wun-wun.

I consider Darkstar and the Sand Snakes part of one big ball of Dorne suckitude, so I guess I didn’t distinguish. However, you got me with Wun-Wun. That was so bad, I think I blocked it out of my mind! Really hope they steer clear of that completely on the show!

  29. Simeon,

I will drink some Dornish red to that!

Oberyn was one in a million, and commanding from the first scene. Doran has potential, but the Snakes…..boy do I hope they ‘grow’ on us, because I feel pretty much nothing for them except boredom. Ellaria has had a ridiculous personality change within the show itself – yes, we lash out when our loved ones are hurt, but that’s more of an immediate thing, not an “I’m going to take the long journey back to Dorne, have time to realize that he volunteered to get crushed like a bug, think about how perhaps obsessive vengeance is detrimental to one’s health, but hey let’s be batshit crazy cuz why not.” It’s too bad, I like the actress and I feel like the majority of the Dornish storyline outside of the scenery and a couple of characters is going to be a fail set up to rid us of characters we actually give a crap about.

Except Areo. That dude has potential in spades.

  30. Balerion The Cat,

I’m going to delete that link so their website doesn’t get shut down again, okay?

And maybe this is a good time for the reminder: please do not get into leaked episode content discussion.

  31. Simeon: All of the above.

If you say so. Ms. Amalgamation needs a glass of Dornish Red.

(But I do like the fire in Indira Varma’s eyes!)

  32. Simeon,

That’s what I don’t understand. Why did they choose to go with this storyline if it was so bad in the books as well? If they really did want to feature the Sandsnakes so much, why portray them in such a nasty manner? I really don’t see them any better than someone like Gregor Clegane, considering they want to torture an innocent girl.
I understand that the Dorne storyline could be important for the endgame. However, I honestly don’t see the Sand Snakes being any more important than other storylines they chose to cut out, like the Manderly or

    LS

storyline, which would of been a lot more entertaining in my opinion.
Maybe it will get better later on, but considering how they’ve set it up I really don’t see my mind changing. Just give me more Roose and Stannis and I’ll be happy.

Sorry for making such a stale rant.

  33. Sam:

I feel as though Lancel is going to be a complete psychopath, which is both surprising and wonderful.

  34. Pigeon: I feel as though Lancel is going to be a complete psychopath, which is both surprising and wonderful.

He’s the Hand of the High Sparrow!

Yeah, they are definitely taking liberties with Lancel but he should be one of the amazing escalating factors in KL this season! Will the born-again Lancel be a one-season wonder?

  35. Pigeon: I feel as though Lancel is going to be a complete psychopath, which is both surprising and wonderful.

He already looks surprisingly fierce with his short hair, and it might just be a fortuitous coincidence that the actor also bulked up in his years away.

  36. One of Roose Bolton’s leeches:

Lets not be overly dramatic and hypocritical. They didnt do anything yet. They are still saints compared to many fan favorites. Afterall Jaime threw Bran out of window, Theon murdered two orphans and betrayed Starks, Tyrion burned thousands people alive to keep the monster Joffrey on the Iron Throne. Dany and Stannis also burning people alive quite a lot. Most of them are also involved in the murders of their own relatives.

  37. Luka Nieto:

I can’t even remember what is in each of the first 4 episodes, so I will put my comment in spoilers just in case….

When I say to small, I mean they look like girls, not tougher females like was described in the books. And even a change wouldn’t be a big deal. They just don’t exude an ounce of toughness on screen.
  38. One of Roose Bolton’s leeches: That’s what I don’t understand. Why did they choose to go with this storyline if it was so bad in the books as well?

Couple of years ago, a bunch of hysterical fans kept freaking out about it. Dorne or riot! OMG I’m so scared they won’t include Dorne! I’ll stop watching if they cut Dorne!!! People were obsessed with it. I don’t know where they went.

  39. That photo of my girl, Shireen, makes me sad. If anyone hurts her, they will have to answer to me.

Love…love…love Sansa in the crypts holding Auntie Lyanna’s feather.

As far as the Sand Snakes, I will withhold comments until the episode airs. However,

the only Sand Snake that is intriguing in the books is Sarella, mostly because of the theory that she is Alleras at the Citadel. For me, the elder three are just extensions of their weaponry. Regardless, I am interested to see what their roles will be in the show.
  40. The last aired episode was very well executed, and I love how it was the longest one so far this season (59 minutes).

Aside from the next one that’s coming up, I hope there will be more episodes lasting as long or longer.

  41. The synopsis for HBO on my TV says: “Bronn and Jaime sneak into Dorne by sea, but their arrival isn’t the secret they’d hoped it would be. Meanwhile, Sansa discusses her future with Littlefinger; Jon is tempted by Melisandre; and Tyrion has a new traveling companion on his way to Mereen.”

  42. Cersei’s Brain:
The synopsis for HBO on my TV says: “Bronn and Jaime sneak into Dorne by sea, but their arrival isn’t the secret they’d hoped it would be. Meanwhile, Sansa discusses her future with Littlefinger; Jon is tempted by Melisandre; and Tyrion has a new traveling companion on his way to Mereen.”

Another proud Jon moment. Can’t believe how much I’m liking his character this season. That synopsis is pretty revealing, actually.

  43. Sam,

I think it’s a great bit of irony that the feminine, delicate Lancel who Cersei used and discarded may turn out to be a huge problem for her.

  44. GaiusB,

Still, I doubt Jaime or Theon would put a child through excruciating pain over a long period of time. They pretty much want to give the Reek treatment to poor Myrcella just so they can start a pointless war. Who do they want to kill? Cersei had nothing to do with it. Tywin is dead. They probably know about Gregor’s condition by now. As for being saints, they’ve already tortured that poor sailor.
They are just overly bloodthirsty. Even if they haven’t actually done the deed yet, there is no indication to think that they would stop and feel some mercy for Myrcella.

  45. Lord Snow,

That’s “equality” for ya… Like how it’s fine for Marg to seduce and sleep with a child (Because he’s underage, so a child legally just in case any are unawares) and she’s lauded as being intelligent for it, compared to Baelish looking at Sansa with some lust is considered creepy and wrong.

I think both are weird, but hey ho…

  46. Cumsprite,

I guess I didn’t understand the reference because I know absolutely nothing about NFL.
Anyway, what does GURM stand for?

TV Guide also has that synopsis online. It is more detailed than the previous one released by HBO.

  48. One of Roose Bolton’s leeches,

That’s it, I’m done coming to this site until the last of the leaked episodes have aired.

These are characters the vast majority of us have not even seen yet, and you’re bitching about them, and reveling what they’ve done in the past tense…

  49. The Free Folk,
Oh shit… I keep forgetting what’s leaked material and what’s not. Forgive me. Someone please delete that post or edit out the last part of the first paragraph. I don’t think I gave away any major spoilers though, considering we learned this in episode 2.

  50. The Free Folk,

Actually, now that I realized it, I didn’t post any leaked spoilers. We see the Sand Snakes torturing the man in the trailer, and we already know that they are on Ellaria’s side from episode 2.

  51. I would have thought “if it hasn’t aired don’t talk about it” was a pretty simple instruction from our fearless leader Sue, apparently not.

  52. I knew it I knew it I knew it! I hope that we can expect a little bit of a WoW spoiler from Sansa this episode when she visits her Auntie’s grave.

Unbowed, Unbent, Unspoiled! Can’t wait for Sunday.

  53. So about the kids ages:

Tommen – is he still supposed to be 12 in the show? Or did they just retro change his age with the new actor? Season 1 Renly said he was 8.
Myrcella – I think I read a press release that said she is 16 and Trystane is 19 this season.
Sansa – The last time they stated her age was her wedding to Tyrion and she was 14 at that time. Based on the passage of time it seems like she should only be 15/16. But she is older than Mrycella. Is she supposed to be 17 this season to continue to be older than Mrycella?
    Arya – ?

Are we not supposed to think about this too hard?

  54. Hodor’s Bastard: He’s the Hand of the High Sparrow!

Yeah, they are definitely taking liberties with Lancel but he should be one of the amazing escalating factors in KL this season! Will the born-again Lancel be a one-season wonder?

Yeah the bulking up probably works, eg from some whispy pushover to being more assertive as a faith militant, even if there is a slight brainwashed vibe coming out of it, this has been thankfully fantastically offset by the deceivingly understated performance of the High Sparrow

(only seen episode 3, but while some have criticised Pryce as not being “book High Sparrow” enough, IMO this is brilliant because he seems deceptively mild which is why Cersei suspects nothing and quite amicably and then slowly and slowly he’ll tighten the noose; IMO Pryce will depict the High Sparrow utterly brilliantly for the TV medium, IMO this will be topped off by following up the WoS by killing Ser Loras, Cersei probably thinks he’s just going to get whipped through the streets ala High Septon and she’ll be able to rub it into Marge and the Tyrells but Ser Loras getting hung or something would be a great way to portray how the situation has gotten out of control)

As for Lancel, can see they are slipping in Qyburns development of Ser Robert Strong so IMO not hard to see in early season 6 they’ll have a SRS vs Lancel showdown (people don’t really think Cleganebowl will happen do they?

  55. For Sansa – The North Remembers! She will too when she’s had a time to reflect. There’s a whole lot of history in those crypts, plus, if I’ve got my geography of Winterfell correct, a whole lot of weirwood roots. Aren’t the crypts almost next to where the godswood is?
Various theories exist related to what else is down in those crypts. One stated the high probability of dragon eggs, from the time of Dance of Dragons. (If I got that one right.) Another said something about an underground system of caverns, somewhere in a lower level. It’d be something if the show teased any of these.
Somehow, I feel Old Nan’s tales will make Sansa smile. I’d be a nice touch to have a voiceover from that late actress. Playing on words, The Show Remembers. Dare they do something so sentimental?

  56. Ghost’s Lunch,

Switch characters with ‘L’ names. How does that work? SRS vs Loras – Respectively, champions for the honour of Cersei and Margaery. I know it’s not shown in the books, thus far. It could be on the cards for the next, if GRRM is thinking of a showdown between the Queens.
  57. Sansa picking up the feather that Robert placed in Lyanna’s hand during Episode 1 Season 1

Feather = Sign of Robert’s love
Sign of Robert’s love = Gendry
    Gendry + Sansa confirmed

Haha someone was going to say it, might as well be me.

Sansa picking the feather up in the crypts is definitely a form of symbolism. Could be a lot of interesting meanings behind it.

  58. My prediction for the episode is…

    1. Wall = Lots of talking
    2. Winterfell – Lots of talking
    3. KL = Even more talking’
    4. Essos = Boatloads of talking
    5. Braavos = Lots of one sided talking, either Arya to JH or wise versa
    6. Dorne = The most talking of any of the arcs, after all it involves Bronn

Probably a very talkie, slow moving hour as the pieces move around the board, it has like a 50-52 minute run time if I remember from past boards, which doesn’t bode well for action. Long = action, short = talkie slow paced.

This actually bodes (again) well for award season, because peers love dialogue heavy shows where people just stand or sit around talking.

  59. Rygritte: Couple of years ago, a bunch of hysterical fans kept freaking out about it. Dorne or riot! OMG I’m so scared they won’t include Dorne! I’ll stop watching if they cut Dorne!!! People were obsessed with it. I don’t know where they went.

The feminists? Upholding Dorne above everything else because of the female rights granted there, despite it being a poorly done arc in the books? I think they actually joined Femen now and stopped watching because the rest of the show is so damn unforgivingly sexist!

    mariamb:
As far as the Sand Snakes, I will withhold comments until the episode airs. However,

As for the Sand Snakes being extensions of their weapons, it all depends on what GRRM has them do in Winds. I’m doubtful Nymeria will be an extension of her weapon on the small council and that Tyene will be an extension of her weapon in Baelor’s Sept, similar to Sarella in Oldtown.

  60. Sue the Fury,

Oh, I had no idea that site is on HBO’s blacklist, I’m still trying to figure out why.

Btw, is WotW having some technical problems right now or is it just me? It takes a long time to load a page and I have to reload several times before it works. Other sites are working ok and it’s not my internet, I’ve checked :/

  61. Can people quit it with the ignorant anti-feminist bullshit, please? Thank you.

    tyjon,

It has much more action than the three previous episodes combined… times two. And you don’t even have to watch the leaked screeners to know that —the promo for episode four shows two or three elaborate action scenes.

  62. I suspect a lot of people are going to be disappointed in the Sand Snake introduction. It’s more of a dud than I could have imagined. This is, IMO, only the second Nina Gold misstep so far (Daario #1 being the first).

  63. Luka Nieto,

BTW have the folks over on Game of Thrones wiki figured out that Samantha Bentley/McEwan played two roles in ep. 503 yet? She was the Stranger in the High Septon’s religious orgy AND the Dany-lookalike prostitute in Volantis.

Also Slavko Sobin should be listed as “Second Son” and not “Meereenese Fighter”. He’s walking behind Daario in both 501 and 502 and is likely one of his officers.

  64. Lexyvil,

As far as I know (from following several fan forums) the run-times are:

    5.01 “The Wars to Come” (D&D) – 53 min.

5.02 “The House of Black and White” (D&D) – 56 min.

    5.03 “High Sparrow” (D&D) – 60 min.

5.04 “The Sons of the Harpy” (Hill) – 51 min.

5.05 “Kill the Boy” (Cogman) – 57 min.

5.06 “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken” (Cogman) – 54 min.

    5.07 “The Gift” (D&D) – 59 min.

    5.08 “Hardhome” (D&D) – 60 min.

    5.09 “TBA” (D&D) – 53 min.

    5.10 “TBA” (D&D) – 61 min.

  65. tyjon:
My prediction for the episode is…

    2. Winterfell – Lots of talking

    You will be surprised…
  66. ArgonathofBraavos,

I agree that their introducton is horrible, but why blame Nina Gold for it? It is a clear case of bad writing, there are not any casting directors and actresses living who could make it better.

  67. ArgonathofBraavos:
IThis is, IMO, only the second Nina Gold misstep so far (Daario #1 being the first).

Really? I preferred Skrein by a million miles. Daario is not supposed to be the cute guy next door, but exotic. Huisman is easily my least favorite casting in the show.

I agree that the Sand Snakes are not a casting issue though.

  68. tyrion101356,

I’m pretty sure content from the trailers can be talked about. As for LS, that’s just your opinion man. Why so hostile anyway?

  69. I think the sand snakes could have been made to stand out a little more if they made their outfits more individualistic.

Obara is essentially how I imagined her, though Tyene and Nymeria could be made to look more ‘innocent’ per say, with weapons hidden on their person, as opposed to the obviously visible ones in these shots.

I don’t have an issue with the look of the actress who plays Tyene (obvious appearance alterations aside), but they least they could have done was dress her in (somewhat) more standard Westerosi attire, with a distinct Dornish twist.

They just don’t seen like they’ll stand out as individuals, especially given what I’ve heard of the leaked episode. This could be a problem if they choose to pursue their separate roles as in the books.

  70. Ghost’s Lunch,

Having Pryce as the HS is pure genius. He can go from understated to over-the-top in a blink of an eye. Follow his eyes during any shot…the HS is one of those roles (like Qyburn) that you really wonder what is going on inside his head. I’m really looking forward to his presence this season.

As for Lancel, he is a tool…once used by Cersei, now used by the HS. His rabid escalation for the cause this season should be quite fun. I also believe L will vanquish the other L. RIP L. Will Jaime ever find out about Lancel’s toolish actions (Tyrion should have told him)? L’s days might be numbered, regardless.

So many crowded walks through the Baelor alley this seaosn already…ya gotta know what’s coming!

  71. One of Roose Bolton’s leeches,

It’s the phonetic pronunciation of the author’s initials. I often use it as a verb like in this sentence: When George Martin said he added RR to his name on his works so as not to be confused with George Martin the Beatle he was GURMing people.

  72. The Bastard: I can’t even remember what is in each of the first 4 episodes, so I will put my comment in spoilers just in case….

If you’re not sure whether it’s from a leaked episode, don’t comment on it at all.

  73. Balerion The Cat: Btw, is WotW having some technical problems right now or is it just me? It takes a long time to load a page and I have to reload several times before it works.

It’s because of that stupid countdown widget.

  74. ArgonathofBraavos: I suspect a lot of people are going to be disappointed in

I giggle every time people get excited to finally see what’s going to happen to whoever wherever knowing what I know oh oh oh.

  75. I can’t wait until the episode airs so everyone can finally be on the same page again. No more tiptoeing around spoilers for the coming episodes. I’ve seen the episode, but it is tiring seeing people give out spoilers or subtle hints. It’s only 2 more days, can’t you keep it to yourself for that long?

  76. I can’t figure out what on earth is at the end of Sansa’s necklace! Maybe a pencil -thin mace canister. Smart girl. She’ll need it.

Ellaria and the Snakes look like they are having an argument of some sorts to me. I think Indira Varma is going to do just fine. She’s got the chops and she probably has the script material to work with.

    ArgonathofBraavos,

Lots of people don’t like book!Dorne at all. I would expect there will be lots who won’t like show!Dorne either. Not a catastrophe, surely! 🙂
