To paraphrase a well-known saying, this is how a king’s reign ends: not with a bang, but with a whisper.
This week’s episode of House of the Dragon brought all the feels, as we said goodbye to Viserys Targaryen (keep that #AnEmmyforPaddy trend going) and watched an unfortunate miscommunication set up further erosion of the fragile peace in Westeros. Join Petra and Samantha on this week’s episode of The Night’s Cast as they discuss all this and more!
The podcast is available on iTunes and SoundCloud, and you can follow us on Twitter as well. Happy listening!
Hated to miss this one! I agree with your point about Vaemond and acknowledge he had a genuine reason to be angry. My take on Daemon’s action in the throne room (and this is not to condone him by any means) is that he was both acting to protect his wife’s name and reputation – knowing that Vaemond’s continued existence could make things very messy for her, even without a tongue – and also sparing his brother from having to carry out his threat since he was in no physical condition to do so.
King Viserys and Maester Aemon Targaryen are both thinking of Aegon Targaryen during their final seconds of life.
So was Lyanna Stark.
(Too many Aegons running around if you ask me. Recycling the same names over and over again gets confusing. *Cough* Alicent *cough*)
