  1. I just hope HBO isn’t trolling us fans since we’ve been so obnoxious about finding every little nougat in hopes that Jon Snow/Stark/Targaryen is “still alive” or resurrected. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least, sadly. :/

  2. Maybe it is just a dramatic splash of blood for the poster, but if it is supposed to look like bloody tears, then the blood from the eyes makes me think of weirwood faces/the old gods.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is more of an old god mediated return to Jon in the books, with Melisandre’s assistance. I wonder if Bran (or maybe Bloodraven himself) and Ghost will also be a part of it. Here is my tinfoil thought…
The other wargs/skinchangers we have seen in the story have not had the kind of visions and communication that Jon has had with his experiences, and I think that is because Ghost himself is a greenseer (consider Ghost as the color of the old gods, and with the eyes that the CoTF associated with greenseers). Arya just sees through the eyes of Nymeria, for example, where Jon appears to also have greensight visions in Ghost. Bran can thereby communicate through Ghost, as when Bran tried to get Jon/Ghost to open his third eye in previous chapters. In other words, I can see where Jon’s resurrection could be even more complicated than a straight up Red God resurrection by virtue of him being briefly in Second Life. Varamir Sixskins may have figured it out himself, but maybe Bran or even Bloodraven will be a guide for Jon, at least in the book. Melisandre may resurrect Jon’s body, enabling the full transition to occur, but as you say, perhaps Jon’s return will have more of the ?magic of the old gods than expected involved with it, which would be cool. He may not lose as much of himself as Beric Dondarrion, but the question is how much may he lose of himself if he is in Ghost for too long. I hope Melisandre does not wait too long to bring him back…

…but that’s when Jon’s life gets really complicated.

  3. Did anyone else notice the scar on his face? There was nothing on his left cheek at the end of season 5

  4. HODOR or House HODOR:
Did anyone else notice the scar on his face? There was nothing on his left cheek at the end of season 5

They talked about that in the podcast. I also thought it was just a scar from Orell’s eagle. He did have a scar on his left cheek, only it was vertical, not horizontal…

  5. I’m really looking forward to listening to this over the long weekend.
    Thanks, GOO crew! πŸ™‚

  6. Jon snow. Is a tartgaryen anyone who read the books must agree. I w a nt a flash back to Ned in dorn going to save his sister and the fight between him and and the reed father and alyannes captors / rhygars guys don’t hold me over a barrel for forgetting the names. I thought Jon snow was going to be the new nights king.

    Kissed By Fire,

I can’t believe they haven’t shown the stark mom. Resurrection either

  8. An earlier scene (season 3 I think) popped into my head and I believe there could be something to it. Or probably I just want there to be πŸ™‚ I know there’s a Lady Stoneheart that is Cat in the novel. I guess the show won’t be doing that but could there be a tie-in somehow? Remember when Cat was telling Talisa that when Jon was a baby he got really sick and she prayed all through the long night for him to live and she promised the gods she’d be a mother to him and she feels the reason all the bad stuff is happening to her family is because she couldn’t love and thus went back on her word.

I just feel like since there is a legit reanimated Catelyn in the source material, it’s obvious the gods saw fit to bring her back for some reason, and one of those reasons could be not just as a bringer of revenge but atonement as well. It would also be fun for us to see her learn of his true parentage right? Maybe D &D will have Jon meet up with her in the afterlife before he comes back?

    Just rambling thoughts
