Game of Thrones’ “Sons of the Harpy” was an episode with an ending that left Twitter abuzz and sparked discussion among fans. How did our video critics and commentators feel about the fates of characters this episode, and what were their impressions of this week as a whole? Watch on…
We’re going to start off with What the Flick this week, as they have Unsullied in their group and often form bold opinions (looking at you, Cenk)
Ozzy Man must not have slept this week because he had a trio of vids drop; here is his recap.
Gay of Thrones is here again to delight with MISSI PYLE!
Sandrine and Kenny are talking about what happened. And wearing shirts with Game of Thrones stuff on them. Good deal.

Our friends at History of Westeros show some serious commitment with TWO videos every week, Sullied and Unsullied (warning: they do talk about a popular fan theory this week).
Second week of SFNerd: yes, no, maybe so?
Red Team Review – A *spoiler-free* video review.

As always, if I forget someone or it comes out after this is published (i.e. Grantland) please stick it with the pointy end in the comments.
Additionally, I usually experiment with the list but there may be culling soon so don’t hesitate to share your preferences (or otherwise) on the selection we have now.
Have a great weekend! Now we venture together into the unknown…
Although I haven’t joined in the Sandsnake hate I did think the reference to the Dornish Kardashians was funny.
Dame of Mercia,
I actually liked the Sand Snakes. Up until the forced Obara monologue (as Ozzyman puts it).
Even my “everything is awesome” friend was like “what the hell was up with that Sand Snakes intro?”
Watching Cenk piece together
was pretty magnificent, considering he came very close last year. Ben really needs to brush up though, maybe rewatch a few older seasons. Also love ShmoesKnow’s reviews. Unsullied and speculative and fresh.
Patchface and Varys would be proud of the SS’s fine footwear.
I like Ozzy’s and Sandrine/Axey’s reviews but I really miss ComicBookGirl19’s reviews this season.
Valaquen,
Cenk has read the first book, so hes got an advantage of having a firm knowledge of the backstory
I enjoy Josh Wigler and unsullied friend’s discussion every week in Postshow Recaps –

Great review for German speaking audience from Wolf and Kim. (Unsullied and Sullied)
Heh, Sullied. History of Westeros gives a splendid analysis on Dornish fashion, Unsullied cuisine and its impact upon their combat effectiveness.
Valaquen,
I watched to see what they would say about the end but I clearly did not watch far enough because Cenk figuring out certain popular equations could be the highlight of my day.
Karina,
I would recommend people be careful with these. A lot of his information/backstory stuff is dodgy, and even though he claims it’s suitable for Unsullied, he’ll drop big spoiler hints on you without warning.
Billy Pyke,
Yup – if you like an in depth discussion, History of Westeros is fun.
And was amazed at Cenk’s reasoning this week!
Afterbuzz normally has good recaps but this week they had a new guy who seems really smug.
Bex,
It’s worth seeing. Start at about the 35:30 mark, and you’ll get the conversation leading up to it, then the moment it dawns on him.
It’s a moment that should be enshrined in future GoT retrospectives 😛
Valaquen,
That moment when he realizes everything was priceless.
dragon reborn,
I usually love watching this panel but that new guy Did come across as been smug and when he stated he hasn’t read the books but had a bunch of friends who had, I gave up on watching the rest of the discussion as he turned me off.
Loved watching Cenk figuring out the
I miss checking in with Comicgirl19’s GOT recaps but as she’s kindly stated, they don’t have the budget to keep doing them this year. 🙁
I just went back to try and rewatch Afterbuzz TV and ignore Mr “Dressed like I’m at a Republican’s BBQ” and then he stated how he loved Olenna’s character because of the dialogue when she explained, in backstory, how after a night of sex, she made her future husband walk funny the next morning… “Cos he was Gay”
Really …REALLY ??
You Twat!
Gave up watching again. Hope they don’t invite him back for future discussions!
Valaquen,
Oh my god he did his slomo speak AND Turkish cursing. That was EVERYTHING.
Bex,
It was great, wasn’t it…. so glad more people are picking up on watching his “Enlightenment” 🙂
Loved Ozzy Man’s touching tribute to Barristan. :'(
Briljant moment in history, though I can’t stand Ben anymore. I’ve come to the conclusion that he’s a first class moron. “It was a big slap in the face of Eric Bana”.. Also, you’re sitting there with Imdb right in front of you half the time and you still get the actors that wrong?
Afterbuzz do really good reviews as well… they’re right up there with whattheflick and I never miss those two.. please start including them in these posts!
History of Westeros killed it this week. The analysis was deep and balanced (major criticism balanced with praise) and they provided plenty to laugh about. Winkel-pickers (sp?) ftw!
My favorites are: History of Westeros Podcast does two episodes per week. One focused only on the show perspective and the other focused on the episodes from the book perspective. They also have a best seller book of essays on ASOIAF on Amazon right now so… they’re no joke.
Post Show Recaps does three episodes per week. First from show-only perspective; then they do another episode that takes viewer questions about the show-only perspective; and then they do GOT Book Club that is based on the books and how the show and books influence each other.
Hodor’s Bastard,
Does anyone know why she hasn’t done any season 5 reviews? I thought CBG19 was the best reviewer and there isn’t a better sidekick for a GOT review than a robot who still awaits the return of Khal Drogo.
