Emilia Clarke (Attempts To) Share Season 8 Spoilers to Promote Set Visit Contest

funnyface

Care to have lunch at the Game of Thrones set in Belfast? Emilia Clarke explains how you could win such an experience in a new video in which she … well, tries to give us a peek at on-set season 8 spoilers. **Warning: incorrigible cuteness below the cut**

As Clarke explains in the video, HBO and Omaze have teamed up to bring one lucky winner and one very lucky friend (oh what an elimination process that’ll be!) to visit the Game of Thrones set and have lunch.

Every donation Omaze receives through the contest will go to support the Royal College of Nursing Foundation, which supports nurses, midwives and health care assistants. So, unlike playing the game of thrones, entering this contest really is a win-win.

You can enter to win at Omaze.com/GameofThrones!

  1. I’m incredibly grateful that they’re going to continue to use her Winter look. Absolutely the best new outfit from last season.

  2. I don’t believe I’ve seen one interview or video such as this when Emilia isn’t just the most awesome. Also every time I have to comment on how she always seems like the most happy person there is. I’m really going to miss her doing GoT stuff.

  3. If I were Emilia I would have swiped that coat after S7 filming and made it my own. Eff them, I’d say – make another one!! šŸ™‚

  4. Hahaha. I love Emilia and I love the winter coat!

Did anybody catch what Kit Harington, a.k.a. Jon Snow said?

(“You’re wearing my direwolf.” “Oh, don’t be silly (hahaha), my little king! Do you want to put your wolf into my dragon again?… Yes, I thought so, haha”)

  5. Love her soft-as-sin gloves, too. Michelle Clapton and her people are doing a magnificient job.

  6. Very cute, and the Khal Drogo headshots covering the walls of Emilia’s trailer cracked me up royally.

  7. I wonder about that dog. What is the role of that dog? Ghost’s “body double”? Any ideas? BTW, I loved how Kit Harington told her to wrap – KITN ideed. Mother of Dragons is gonna have a tough time next season:)

Aptly put – totally adorable and Emilia does it without looking dopey. Crafty girl, our Khaleesi. I’ve loved her performance in any movie she’s been in, as well. She played the exasperated, disappointed daughter to a T in “Dom Hemimgway;” yet was completely charming in “Me Before You.” She has the chops to be a great comedic actress if she chooses to go that direction.

  9. Sheā€™s the antithesis of Dany in the best way possible. As much as I love Dany, I fancy Emilia even more because sheā€™s just so darn charming.

  10. I have never really understood the appeal of Emilia Clarke.

Hollywood is trying to make her happen, Iā€™m really meh on her and her persona. Itā€™s frustrating because sheā€™s obviously on that stereotypical trajectory where the studios pump up one individual and then the fire fizzles out. Marketing is pushing her as this versatile grande actrice on the same level as many glamorous leading ladies of the past and itā€™s quite frankly, embarrassing.

I donā€™t think she has the experience, dignity, or complexity to play such a conflicted character as Dany. I admired her before and then I saw her actual performance on the show and was disappointed. It wasnā€™t exciting. Her and Kit were really big letdowns. šŸ™

  11. @TheCookieThatWasPromised … You are certainly not obligated to like Emilia or her acting but I fail to see the relevance of your post in relation to the above video. Sheā€™s a well known person at this point, who plays a popular main character in the most popular TV show in the world. Hollywood isnā€™t pushing us on her in this vid… itā€™s a video for flippinā€™ charity. She clearly got Kit Harrington to be a part of it, as again, he too is a well known person who plays a popular main character in the most popular TV show in the world. By all means, donā€™t donate, you arenā€™t obligated to, but it seriously is annoying when people criticize someone who is at least trying to use their celebrity for good. Would you have preferred she not become an ambassador for the nursing programs?

I loved her in “Dom Hemingway” – and she even sang! I have “Me Before You” recorded; I should try to watch it.

Let me just say that I wholeheartedly agree with your observation about Emilia’s potential to be a great comedic actress:
I first watched the embedded charity video with the sound muted. To me, that shows if someone has the gift for physical comedy and comedic timing. (After all, most decent actors can recite a funny, well-written joke and get a laugh.) Watching Emilia’s facial expressions and body movements in that video were convinced me she has the gift.
Actually, I already thought so after watching her Dolce & Gabanna TV commercial. (It showed her dancing and laughing down a crowded street, eating spaghetti and charming the locals. Without saying a word.)

  13. Ten Bears: ctually, I already thought so after watching her Dolce & Gabanna TV commercial. (It showed her dancing and laughing down a crowded street, eating spaghetti and charming the locals. Without saying a word.)

I’m going to have to scout out the commercial you mentioned, I haven’t seen it, but she’s a natural charmer, so not surprised she made the whole thing enjoyable. My appreciation of her comedic abilities in no way diminishes her talent at drama, she holds her own in a serious moment as well as anyone. It’s just that her smile and laughter are so engaging it would be a shame to waste them. Khaleesi wasn’t my fav charactor, I grew to appreciate the character more because I was so taken with how lovely Emilia was in person.

  14. Thronetender,

Both Emilia C and Kit H did TV commercials for Dolce & Gabanna fragrance(s). The voiceover may have been in Italian. I just remember how transfixed I was by Emilia’s smile, the way she scarfed spaghetti, and how she looked like a young Sophia Loren.

Kit’s commercial wasn’t too bad either, though he does moody and grumpy better than happy and bubbly.

One other thing thing: I believe Emilia C. is unfairly criticized for her portrayal of Daenerys, mostly because the fictional character herself can come off as self-entitled and imperious. Unlike, e.g., Bronn or the Hound, there’s little room for comic relief.

Emilia gets a lot of grief for lines like “I will take what is mine, by fire and blood!”; or “Where are my dragons!” I am not sure how much nuance any actress could infuse into those lines. Still, she is so funny when she pokes fun at herself, especially her variations on the “Where are my dragons!” line. I’ve got to find the video(s). There’s one that cracked me up where Emilia’s in her dressing room and (with mock anger) demands things, like “Where is my latte!”

I’m going to look for it…

  15. Thronetender,

If you do a google search for videos for “Dolce & Gabanna The One” you should be able to find the two TV ads with Emilia and Kit. They came out last year (2017).

I’d post the links here, but unfortunately I have not mastered that skill yet.

  16. How does one obtain this level of cuteness? Did she go to school for it? Does she meditate about energetic puppies for hours each day? WE NEED ANSWERS, EMILIA.

  17. That thumbnail picture above pretty much sums up Emilia, lol.

Poor Emilia, unable to drop spoilers. You have my sympathies.

    And Kit, is Kit.

  18. I first watched the embedded charity video with the sound muted. To me, that shows if someone has the gift for physical comedy and comedic timing. (After all, most decent actors can recite a funny, Emilia Clarke height, well-written joke and get a laugh.) Watching Emiliaā€™s facial expressions and body movements in that video were convinced me she has the gift.

  19. Wow, you dug deep to get to this one. šŸ˜›

Yeah, Emilia is one of those lovable kind that should/would do well in comedies and romcoms.

Regarding the height, I look forward to scenes with her and Arya for several reasons but one of them is that they’re similar in height (5’1 & 5’2). Maisie hasn’t been with other really short people much in this series. šŸ™‚
