Hear Marko Roar, or HmR for short, is a researcher in linguistics currently residing in the lowlands of Europe. His origins can be traced to the sunny side of the Alps, a place he maintains strong ties with, despite living abroad. He first heard about George R.R. Martin’s series in college when the third book had been written, and started reading it soon after. The news of HBO’s optioning the rights in early 2007 found him on the Wall (its European counterpart, that is) where he was spending half a year on a scholarship.
Hear Marko Roar is glad to have been a part of the active fan community since the early days, has a penchant for viewership and other numbers, and is proud to be able to contribute to the site as one of its European time-zone correspondents.
