Game of Thrones Season 7 arrives on DVD and Blu-ray next week, on December 12th, just in time for Christmas and packed with all the sweet extras we’ve come to expect from GoT home releases. To celebrate the Season 7 release, HBO announced today that they’re throwing a series of Game of Thrones fan screenings in December and January, in a few select cities!
HBO will be sharing on the big screen “The Spoils of War,” season 7’s most fiery episode, along with never-before-seen bonus content in the exclusive screenings taking place in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Fans will be treated to a viewing of Conquest and Rebellion, a 45-minute animated story of events that shaped Westeros, a special feature that can only be found for a limited time on the Season 7 Blu-ray and DVD set.
Along with the special episode viewing, GoT fans will be able to take photos with the Iron Throne and Dragonstone Throne replicas, view a replica of Dragonstone’s Painted Table, and visit a gallery of fallen conquerors of Westeros.
What’s the catch? In order to attend, fans must be a minimum of 18 years old and must pre-register HERE. But most importantly, fans will need to bring their Game of Thrones Season 7 DVD or Blu-ray set or proof of purchase with them to gain access to the screening!
The event will open three hours before the first screening each day to allow fans time to access the photo opportunities.

…or Hodor, whichever you prefer.
Unless I missed it somewhere, we still haven’t gotten a breakdown of the commentary tracks for this release.
We had this:

Audio Commentaries — Each episode will feature commentaries with various cast and crew members, such as David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Jacob Anderson, Gwendoline Christie, Liam Cunningham, Kit Harington and Lena Headey.
Clob,
Yeah, I saw that. But it seems like in the past we got more detailed accounts of who’d be doing what episodes, etc.
Sean C.,
Yeah. Maybe it needs to verified yet. I’d heard that Stephen Dillane did a couple narrations for extras. That may be fake news though. 😛
Just got my tickets for Chicago!
Done! Chicago, Sat afternoon. Dinner downtown and window-looking to follow! Cheapest Xmas adventure EVER! Too bad it isn’t prior to my Xmas card sending. A throne pic with the family would make a great card! SO EXCITED ALREADY!!
Hey LadyGoodman! [waves]
Damnit I was hoping for DC… since I’ll be headed there during the holidays. Bummer!
I wish they would have it be a double-header like for the Season 4 IMAX event. Just 45 min doesn’t seem worth it given you have to buy a DVD to get in…
ETA: OK OK if you get to sit on the iron throne, nevermind. Totally worth it!
New York, Chicago and Los Angeles …..because the USA only has 3 cities?
