The Dark Horse Giveaway Grand Finale: Great Houses of Westeros

Throughout the week, we’ve been celebrating the Great Houses of Game of Thrones with a bounty of amazing swag provided by Dark Horse. However, there aren’t enough weekdays to properly cover each of the houses. The Starks, the Targaryens, and the Lannisters seem to get the lions’ share of the love (and the dragons’ and the wolves’ shares, as well), but there are more families in Westeros, and there are those who don’t fit into any House. There are those outcast by their noble kin and those who are something else entirely.

Today, for our finale, we’re sharing a huge amount of prizes with you, our readers, so check it out beneath the cut!

Our Grand Prize today features one of the House outcasts: Tyrion. One of Tyrion’s  biggest moments in the series was leading the charge on the Blackwater, and that moment is preserved in this incredible limited-edition statue.

The Dark Horse Grand Finale Prize Winner will win this Tyrion in Battle Statue, which normally has a list price of $199.99:

1. The giveaway is open to USA residents only.
2. To enter, leave a comment on this post before Saturday, December 13th at 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. Only one entry per person per day will be accepted.
3. The winners are selected by random number generator, and contacted via the email address entered when you submit your comment. Be sure to use a valid email address!
4. You have 48 hours to respond to the notification email. If you don’t respond to it within 48 hours, you forfeit the prize, and a new winner is drawn. We will be notifying everyone of their wins over the next few days.

  31. Varys is my man. I swear fealty to the realm, at whatever cost. I honor the Stark’s sense of justice, but money is power and this game is played best by those who can afford the losses. Lannisters aren’t to be trusted, but admired. Baratheons are unequivocally great men, if perhaps not the wisest rulers. And the Greyjoys serve a purpose i think none have yet come to reckon with, an ancient and very important forgotten task held by strong survivors. Men after my own heart. And what can i say of the Targaryens that hasn’t already been said? It’s a mummer’s show over there is Essos, and that makes it all the more intriguing to watch what’s coming. Winter is coming as they say, but none say it all. Petty squables, and together these families (together with the various Tullieses and Arryns and Dornishmen, too many to mention) make us whole and strong enough to battle what’s to come. So i reinterate: I swear fealty to the realm.

    As for Houses to swear allegiance to…in the days before the main show/books timeline the Starks would be my top choice, but given how things are going for them, it’s not a great time to be Stark allied.

    So: Martell or Tyrell. Relatively wealthy and prosperous Houses, with the Tyrells in decent standing at the moment and people in Dorne relatively sheltered from the chaos (for the moment) and generally more woman-friendly than much of Westeros it seems.

Honestly, I love all of the families, because they are doing anything they can to survive in times of war, and sometimes that means doing something that you never thought you would do, and sometimes that means making a lot of sacrifices.     If I were apart of this world I’d want to be Lynesse Mormont. Born into House Tyrell and married to Jorah Mormont. After the disgrace of my husband the only allegiance I have is to who ever can afford all of my desires. My husband and each man after him seem to fall into ruin because they feel I deserve everything they have and don’t have. My allegiance goes to high-borns like Arya Stark that need help or money. I’d also align myself with Brienne of Tarth and Jaqen H’ghar and the other faceless men of Braavos.

    As for allegiance… Davos is my favorite, so I have to stick by him. Plus, Stannis is the one true king of Westeros. He was next in line after Robert, and Robert had no legitimate heirs. Now, as for if Robert should have went after the throne… that is much murkier. However, considering the only truly known Targaryen is very, very far away from coming to Westeros (it seems), Stannis is rightfully the king at the moment.
