  1. Hopefully I’ll be able to survive for the awards, feeling a bit under the weather.

Thanks to everyone who runs and posts on this great fan blog and of course a big huzzah to GoT!

  2. Omg. I knew my F5-pressing skills would come in handy someday. (I’m sorry for being such a nerd.) But ahhhhhh how exciting, whatever it may be! 😀

  3. NIK_V,

Cheer up mate, there is always next time XD besides, wasn’t it the steel book DVDs of seasons 1 and 2 ?

  4. I just received my WOTW t shirt in the mail today. Yay! I am glad that I ended up with a small instead of an x small. The xs would have been too tight. I will not put it in the dryer ever. I can’t wait to wear it out. 🙂

  5. Am I the only one who’s soul feels burdened by the notion that there is yet another 6 months before season 6?

  6. This is shaping up to be an amazing season, I want to thank watchers on the Wall for always feeding me Spoilers, making sure i’m nice and hyped for the new season.

  7. Ah it’s BEAUTIFUL!! I adore Bran and Hodor! Thank you so much WOTW for the amazing giveaway. You’ve made this broke and exhausted grad student’s week/month/year. 😀

  8. My watch is ended for today, but let it be known that I will gladly pay the iron price for that Steelbook prize!

  9. “I fookin’ ‘ate Thenns!” Go Karsi!!!

I won’t be here to watch the streaming live. But I am glad to see the results tomorrow. Congratulations to all winners ahead and hey to the first prize of the night winner “thornofhighgarden”!!!

  10. When you forget that the end of British Summer Time means you’re only 4 hrs ahead and not 5…. D’oh!

Still, I do love steelbooks! 😉

  11. Ah, so close ?.

I’m pumped to see who the winners will be!! This will be my entertainment (savior, really) in between translating Old English passages.

  12. Making the 8,

Yo, Stannis, I’m really happy for you and I’mma let you finish, but Shireen had one of the best deaths of all time. One of the best deaths of all time!

  13. This is fun.

Season 5 was a problematic season and they really shouldn’t have condensed 2 books into one season like that – yes, some subplots were postponed entirely but not omitted, but even so, the North and Dorne storylines are generally agreed to have been problematic (“the North” isn’t the same as “the Wall” – as soon as the Wall storylines of Stannis and then Jon interesected with the North/Bolton storyline, they ran into problems; Stannis everything after he left the Wall, drastically condensed, and as for Jon, without the Pink Letter from Ramsay, the mutiny against him seems to be a plot hole (UNLESS next season they explain it was specifically motivated by the Boltons defeating Stannis). The others were heavily condensed from what was in the books, though they stand on their own viewed in isolation – though generally the argument is again “it would have been braver and wiser to just space this out across two seasons, damn the odds, you’re not in danger of cancellation at only seven seasons at this point”.

Be that as it may, the announcement of eight seasons and apparently slowing down the pace of adaptation, won me back – seriously if they kept with that “we always said seven seasons” crap I may have left (no, you didn’t “always” say seven seasons – we have this thing called “the internet” where it takes five minutes to search your interviews from Season 1 and see you actually said “seven or eight” at the beginning).

Anyway I’m very happy at how WOTW stepped up in this, its first TV season as a new site…and how quickly it has “grabbed the market share” as it were, from other sites.

  14. 8 PM? In what timezone? I’m sitting in Auckland NZ waiting for this but I’d really like to know what time it starts in NZ ?

EDIT NVM … I saw EDT just as I hit enter…. I guess that means about an hour from now?

  15. So ahhh how is everybody doing?

What? No, this isn’t an arbitrary comment to get me entered for prizes–that’s really hurtful, guys.

  16. Wait, I can actually watch this? I remember it being undoable last year, or maybe I was just off in terms of timezoning.. Weird.. But if the gig starts in 45m that I’m staying up.

  17. I have no Doubt hardhome will win best episode, such a breathtaking episode, filled with so many great moments, Tyrion and dany, cersei imprisoned, sam telling olly that jon always comes back, and HARDHOME! <3

  18. Can’t remember some of my votes, but anyway. So exciting!!
Wondering how many of those I’ve voted for will win…

  19. Can’t wait!
Unfortunately, I have to get up early tomorrow, so I’m off to bed. Will check the results in a few hours.
Maybe I’ll win, eh? I’ve never won anything while asleep. 🙂

  20. Making the 8,

i’ll drink to that, such a great character, I was never bored when he appeared on screen. I really hope that make a Roberts rebellion Adaption at some point, that would be the great.

  21. OMG this is so true! My aunt always sits next to me and our knees touch and during the sex scenes its very weird!

  22. Sue the Fury,

I just knew first post would get some kind of Hodor-Themed prize!
That’s some bottom-supporting, Great and Powerful Sue

Anyone else here remembers when we just shouted “FIRST”, before the shenanigans turned into a Hodorfest?

  23. Making the 8,

There is indeed a category for Best Visual Effects Scene. The nominees were:

-Tyrion and Jorah spy a dragon as they sail through ruins of Valyria
-Drogon attacks and Dany rides at Daznak’s Pit
-A White Walker walks through flames, fights Jon and is shattered by Longclaw
-Wights throw themselves off the cliffs at Hardhome
-With Jon at sea, the Night’s King raises the dead of Hardhome

  24. Superrrrr cooool, love this website tells me everything i need about Game of Thrones, I like live and breath the show hahaha

  25. I believe everyone is cheering for Hardhome, is their a soul around who isn’t cheering for hardhome ? Well I did really love Mothers Mercy.

  26. Matthew The Dragon knight,

Judging from the comments section of the Best Episode post, Mother’s Mercy had a lot of support (I loved that episode as well – it was my second-favorite of the season after Hardhome). Furthermore, episodes like The Dance of Dragons, The Gift, and High Sparrow had many vocal supporters as well. I’m very confident that Hardhome will win, but I don’t believe it will be quite as much of a rout as some people think.

  27. Matthew The Dragon knight,

I voted for Mother’s Mercy. Hardhome was probably the “best episode of TV” of the season, in a way, but Mother’s Mercy was an even better Game of Thrones episode and finale. If I had to show a great episode to someone who doesn’t watch the show it would be Hardhome, certainly. But Mother’s Mercy is more… Game of Thrones.

  28. Shame. Shame. Shame…on you if you don’t make Cersei win an award. It makes no matter if she’s real or faux; her reverse moonwalking the Walk of Shame should earn her all the awards in the world.

  29. Good luck to everything Nominated, you are all winners in my heart!!! GAME OF THRONES for life.

  30. Interesting idea, this supposed award show. I’ve tried a couple dozen ways to find out where you’ve hidden it. The Game of Owns link leads to a page with a computer illustration of a massive throne in which concert speakers have been mounted. Other links lead to nothing. So, interesting, but maybe not so well engineered, yes? I’d love to tune into this show. Maybe you could give some hints somewhere??

  31. Jared:

Judging from the comments section of the Best Episode post, Mother’s Mercy had a lot of support (I loved that episode as well – it was my second-favorite of the season after Hardhome). Furthermore, episodes like The Dance of Dragons, The Gift, and High Sparrow had many vocal supporters as well. I’m very confident that Hardhome will win, but I don’t believe it will be quite as much of a rout as some people think.

Episodes 7-10, from Gift to Mother’s Mercy were all excellent, though this is nothing new for the show. I’d argue that every season save the second had great 3-5 episode-long runs to cap off their respective seasons.

  32. Watchers on the Wall ‏@WatchersOTWall 4m4 minutes ago
Sorry, folks, we’ll be up and running shortly- ran into a couple technical hiccups!

  33. Watchers on the Wall has put out a casting notice for tech nerds. The role starts immediately. Send CV’s and headshots now. ?

  34. Bogden:
Whoops I’ve just listened to last year’s awards for 5 minutes before I noticed it said 2014!

That’s what I did. The reason why I knew it was last year’s because they said Rose Leslie was in second place for an award for supporting actress. Her character is dead.

  35. Do not click the link to their youtube page in that box in the upper right corner. It will immediately start playing last year’s podcast. It will give you the false sense that you have found the podcast.

  36. My only fault with Mother’s Mercy is that it felt like a “tieing loose ends with cliffhangers”. Although this made me rethink my existamce as I would have to wait so long to figure out what happens next, much of it to fast paced and could’ve had more debth, like Sansa and Reek’s escape. Hardhome on the other hand dedicated a great sum of it’s broadcast focusing on one main event that had us on our heals from start to finish, and left us vowed by what the fact that a TV show feels like it was made to be one of the greates movies of all time.

  37. “Okay, we’re almost there. I’ve got my Iron Throne Blonde Ale. Get ready, the Watchers on the Wall Awards are live in five!”

  38. Angela: That’s terrible.

Having watched the beautiful masterpiece that is Hannibal, I find that gruesome deaths of TV characters are actually quite uplifting in a disturbingly vomit-inducing sort of way. I am prepared and excited for a serving of Rickon with a side dish of Shaggydog.

  39. Mr Fixit: Having watched the beautiful masterpiece that is Hannibal, I find that gruesome deaths of TV characters are actually quite uplifting in a disturbingly vomit-inducing sort of way.

    I know.

  40. Can zak not do that stupid face or the soundeffects? And not talk about browsers? Or republican debate, or world series?

  41. this are the times I hate living in Spain and the 5 hours that separate us from US. I’ts 1.35 AM for me so I really have to go to bed but I cannot miss the chance to win something 😛 I will check tomorrow but I can say without doubts: thanks all for the amzing work behind this awards and behind every post every day 🙂

  42. Five years into this show and a dozen knock off beer flavors later, yet we STILL don’t have a brand of “Arbor Gold” or “Dornish Red” that you can buy.

    THIS WRITES ITSELF, PEOPLE!

If you have a knockoff Harry Potter beer, you call it “butterbeer”!

“A Tyrion flavored wine”…wha…what does that even MEAN?!

  43. Settling in with my Fire and Blood beer and wearing my WoTW tee. Can see you peeps and you look fabulous! So excited

  44. sent my friend to watch the stream (he’s also a big fan) but he’s one that hates any type of spoiler. He was pissed that he saw some of the recent posts xD

  45. Alfie Allen for Best Supporting Actor!

I voted for Iain Glen, but that is richly deserved. One of the very best actors on the show.

  46. Alfie wins!
And Sue doesn’t know how to pronounce Iwan Rheon! (Pretty much pronounced as I-wan hDray-on) 😉

  47. This is freaking awesome!! I love seeing everybody’s faces hahahahah.

    And HELLZ YEAH ALFIE!!!!!!

  48. I vote for Daenerys all the way just because I am a Targaryen fan hahaha.
This is dope never seen anyone do this.

  49. Kerry Ingram for Best Supporting Actress!

That was the win I was hoping for the most. She did so much with that role in her three seasons on the show. She will be terribly missed.

  50. Kerry definitely deserved it. Her scenes with Stephen Dillane were fantastic, and the burning sealed the deal.

  51. Ooooooh best quote. One of the hardest categories ever. How do you choose on a show like this????

  52. We have been worrying for Jon for years
He always comes back, Kill the boy jon snow 🙂

  53. “Kill the boy, Jon Snow. Winter is almost upon us. Kill the boy… and let the man be born.”

    Damn right.

  54. Kill the boy wins! Surprised Stannis’s speech to Shireen didn’t win… though maybe just because I voted for it 😛 I’m still quite happy.

Hope Karsi’s “fuck ’em, they’re dead” wins funniest quote.

  55. Good choice. I went with “Bear island…”, but it was very difficult and this was still a worthy winner.

  56. Maester Aemon takes Best All-Around Quote – “Kill the boy, Jon Snow. Kill the boy and let the man be born.”

I voted for Stannis, but I’m glad that Aemon won something. I was retroactively gutted that I didn’t wind up voting for him in any of the categories. Great, great character.

  57. Funniest quote…! *DRUMS* Fewer!

I voted for Karsi’s famous line, “fuck ’em, they’re dead.” Fewer was a good callback line, but I think others in the list were a bit more interesting.

  58. Hiiii Everybody!!!!

    From Aussie Land 😀

Love this site seriously just because I know everything from use.

    Always support the bottom

  59. Not being a bitch about typos??? I went back in my typing because I typed Always support the bootom.. xD

  60. Oh my goodness!!! The first thing I’ve ever won and the absolute best!!!!! Thank you so much WotW. That’s one less of your shirts I was going to gift myself for Christmas ?

  61. Also might I add—sorry for not writing Hodor in the first post haha. I was not expecting to be first. Oh well. :3

  62. Drogon frying Harpies in Daznak’s Pit was one of the most satisfying things I’ve seen on the show. It hope it wins.

  63. I’m excited about Sapochnik.. My Hypeballs are tingling!

Bit miffed like Sue that “Come at me, bro” won..

  64. I didn’t have strong thoughts about the VFX category, really. Voted for the Night King’s “Come at me, bro”, but I didn’t really care about who won. Slightly surprised it won, still 🙂

  65. While “Hardhome” was good, we know it was expanded in re-writes – part of me suspects that they focused on making Hardhome great, shoot the moon, to try to make up for other weaknesses in Season 5…..when you actually do that by making a balanced season!

  66. Prizes for meeee!!!

The connection is so slow I can’t understand a thing they say on youtube

  67. HODOR.

The Dragon Demands: we know it was expanded in re-writes

You have an special ability to make stuff up based on incredibly vague comments; in this case, just one comment.

Would you die if you complimented something about season five without also criticizing it?

  68. Best Visual Effects Scene – The Night’s King raising the dead at Hardhome.

Strong choice! I’ll echo Zack’s enthusiasm about Miguel Sapochnik returning for Season 6. After only two episodes, he’s already secured a place among the show’s best directors.

I voted for Dany riding Drogon, BTW. I didn’t expect it to win, but that’s such an iconic scene, and I thought they pulled it off extremely well.

  69. Matthew The Dragon knight,

Come at me, bro. I’ve got potions and poisons galore.

And Darkstar has a soft heart. He’s just been hurt so many times. He’s one of those hunky, misunderstood types, ya know. He shall surprise us all.

  70. Best action scene! I voted for “Jon battles a White Walker one-on-one at Hardhome”. Glad —but not surprised— it won 🙂

Jared: I voted for Dany riding Drogon, BTW. I didn’t expect it to win, but that’s such an iconic scene, and I thought they pulled it off extremely well.

Conceptually, sure. But the finished effects were kinda iffy. Very iffy.

  71. Best Action Scene – Jon kills the White Walker at Hardhome.

That was my vote. A quintessential “Hell Yes!” moment. Valyrian Steel!

  72. Best guest actress!

Voted for Birgitte Hjort Sørensen as Karsi, of course. Not surprised but EXTREMELY glad it won.

  73. The Dragon Demands,

Birgitte Hjort Sørensen was much better. Her role was much more interesting, though. Ned Williams was a great imitator of Lena Headey, I’ll grant you; if Karsi hadn’t been there, I’m sure she would’ve won.

  74. The Dragon Demands:
Karsi was written as a man

    I checked a transcript, her name wasn’t mentioned on-screen

The character was originally written as a man… but that was changed. So, the final character was written as a woman.

  75. Didn’t work for me, but grateful for the comments. They’re keepin me updated. I wish Barristan would’ve won too.

  76. Actually their stated reason for making her a woman is because “well, she’s killed by wights, and “women are nurturing”.

…the director’s comments made it fairly clear the part was “written as a man. ”

“She was a guy originally, and then somewhere in the process we thought it might be cool if she were a mother, and show her sending off her own kids to make that moment with the corpse children really resonate emotionally.”

***Though I really really like the actress.

  77. Strong woman shouldn’t be able to die? There are plenty of strong women in the show.. Strong men get killed, so strong women can get killed as well.

  78. Mr Fixit: Having watched the beautiful masterpiece that is Hannibal, I find that gruesome deaths of TV characters are actually quite uplifting in a disturbingly vomit-inducing sort of way. I am prepared and excited for a serving of Rickon with a side dish of Shaggydog.

Omg, a Hannibal mention. Talk about Beautiful Deaths.

Note: I’ve watched ‘Hardhome’ numerous times. They never said Karsi’s name. :shrugs:

  79. @Eric, Hannah, Zack, Petra, Susan, Rex

What are your personal reviews on how Jon Snow would remain Alive and kicking in the Show ?

    – Myr

  80. In the Best Death category, I voted for Trant’s death, for being equal parts satisfying and creepy, which is how I think we should feel about Arya’s killings. Not surprised about the sacrifice of Shireen Baratheon winning, though. Quite happy about it, in fact. Such a well-written and well-acted scene.

  81. Luka Nieto:

What does it say about me if I don’t remember almost anything about how I voted?

  82. GeekFurious:
Should the drunk person really be the one counting?

    Unless I win… obviously.

That’s a precedent set by Battlestar Galactica. Their resident drunk Colonel Tigh was in charge of overseeing the voting in the presidential election. If it’s good for them, it’s good for us!

(Of course, he did try to cheat, so maybe the comparison is not that apt. Ah well.)

  83. Mr Fixit: That’s a precedent set by Battlestar Galactica. Their resident drunk Colonel Tigh was in charge of overseeing the voting in the presidential election. If it’s good for them, it’s good for us!

    It’s in the frakkin’ ship!

  84. Best Death Scene – The sacrifice of Shireen Baratheon.

This is where the definition of “Best” can be a bit confusing. I thought Shireen’s death was a superbly executed scene, but it was so viscerally upsetting that it seems odd to honor it with any kind of superlative (though I voted for it in the Best Dramatic scene category, for because it was so powerful).

  85. Best guest actor… I voted for Reece Noi as Mossador, but not really excitedly. The role was great, but not mindblowing. I expected Hinds‘s win, and I was so close to vote for him… but, even though Hinds was great as Mance here (much better than he had ever been in the show), he was only seen briefly, and only in the first episode. Not surprised he won, though 😉

  86. Mr Fixit,

I would liken him more to the Bane type. He’s got a heart buried far, far underneath those rippling muscles and douchey scowl.

  87. Ciarán Hinds for Best Guest Actor!

Very happy with that one. I love Mance’s death scene, and his final conversation with Jon immediately beforehand. One of my very favorite sequences of the year.

  88. “The freedom to make my own mistakes was all I ever wanted.”

Such a great line. Ciaran Hinds nailed it and it’s sad they ended Mance’s arc early in the show.

  89. Best Comedic Scene! I voted for “Cersei and Margaery have a war of words after the new queen’s wedding night”. Verbal sparring truly is D&D’s speciality. Not surprised about “Fewer”, but kinda disappointed. It took over two whole categories.

  90. Best Comedic Scene – Stannis corrects the grammar of the Night’s Watch

So Stannis takes both comedic categories for the same scene. I’m not too surprised, though I agree that it stretches the definition of a “scene”. I voted for Margaery and Cersei’s exchange of insults here.

EDIT: Thank you to Sue, Greatjon of Slumber, and everyone who put this event together! It’s been a blast so far (as it is every year). 🙂

  91. Stephen Dillane has a role in the comical series called “A touch of cloth” with John Hannah.

  92. I agree it was a great line for Stannis’ character. Which is why it’s in Best Quote.

It’s just not representative of the whole scene.

  93. GeekFurious:
    “I just cunt du it!”

Where is Brienne from in his mind?

Maybe she struck a friendship with Locke in their brief time together and decided to work on the way she speaks. You know, in order to be more memorable and stuff.

  94. What does it say about me that when she said “there’s an extremely attractive man” I thought she was talking about me?

  95. GeekFurious:
What does it say about me that when she said “there’s an extremely attractive man” I thought she was talking about me?

It’s OK. You’re hot as hell. Share it with the world, man!

  96. Luka Nieto,

Pretty much! 🙂 We disagreed on Best Guest Actor and Best Visual Effects (and I freely admit I was giving points for effort in voting for Dany). But we’ve agreed on everything else.

You and I are generally of like mind when it comes to this show.

  97. Don’t tell me the Princess is winning tonight lol give it to our boy Jesus/jon 😀

  98. “What side are we on? We’re on the side of the demons, Chief. We’re evil men in the gardens of paradise sent my the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I’m surprised you didn’t know that.” — Colonel Tigh, BSG

    BEST LINE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  99. Best Dramatic Scene!

**Incoming nonsensical TDD comment about Jon’s death being a plot hole**

Voted for “The Night’s King raises the dead at Hardhome”. I’m not the only one, it seems 😛

Good to see Shireen just behind that.

  100. well at least the princess didn’t win again, good job mr nights king guy, your cool.

  101. Stannis
    Stannum, Sn = Tin
    Tin Man, no heart.

Stannis, you heartless bastard, why did you do it? Still makes me so sad.

  102. Best Dramatic Scene – The Night’s King raises the dead at Hardhome.

I felt compelled to vote for Shireen’s death because of how deeply it affected me, but I’m glad the Night’s King won. That scene was instantly iconic.

  103. Best Actress! Voted for Lena Headey. Not a particularly original vote, I gather, considering it won by a landslide 😀

    My runner-up was Sophie Turner.

  104. Shouldn’t really have a “worst of” thing, no. Too subjective.

Besides we kind of already know what the worst line of the season was…

  105. I imagine Melisandre will bring him back. It’s what all the theories have in common. Much as I’d love him to warg into Ghost first, that would probably come out of nowhere in the show as the Stark children’s warging abilities haven’t really been addressed

  106. Best actor! Voted for Kit Harington, though Dillane was a close second. Expected Stannis to win, considering Jon will have another chance next season, and it already looks like his storyline will be amazing, while Stannis is deader than dead. Still wanted Kit to win 😛

  107. Stephen Dillane wins Best Actor!

I’m very happy with that one. I voted for Kit Harington, because I thought Jon Snow owned this season, and Kit has grown tremendously as an actor over the past five years. But Dillane was incredible, and this was his last chance. Alas it’s too bad that Kit is never, ever coming back to the show, and therefore can never win this award in the future. 😉

  108. Yesss Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries shoutout!! One of my favorite shows. So good. So much love.

  109. Casting news! GAME OF THRONES is looking for a female in her 20s to 90s to play a whore who dies while saving children from Wights.

  110. Hardhome wins best episode. Voted for Mother’s Mercy, but I understand why Hardhome won 😛

Happy Mother’s Mercy got to second place.

  111. This musical interlude was brought to you by Robson & Jerome!

I’m still disappointed that we didn’t get a full-length version of Jerome Flynn singing “The Dornishman’s Wife” on the Season 5 soundtrack.

  112. I love dance of dragons just because I see Daenerys ride drogon for the first time. I was like finally thank fudge haha

  113. Luka Nieto:
    Telperion,

I think you’re getting a-head of yourself. HA HA HA ?

If they give him the Frey treatment, Stannis’s might actually be taller in season 6…. You know, stag’s head and all. Antlers.

  114. Watching the podcast and found humor in the panel’s saying that “Ollie didn’t make the cut.” FTW anyone?

  115. This was great, this fan base is the best!
I think every single nomination was awesome… and all the wins were great and well deserved.

Edit: BTW, Where was OZ 🙁

  116. Thank you guys at WotW , 2am here in UK so I’m gonna have to get some sleep now for University in the morning, watched as much I can. Thank you all and good luck and good night 🙂

  117. Nick Hartley:
    Nick Hartley does not Sow!

    Kingsmoot FTW

I’m just finally getting home and skimming the thread. It looks like it’s been as much fun as I thought, and I’m bummed I had to miss it. I just had to stop my skimming to say…holy shit…I crack up every time the GOO crew says, “Nick Hartley does not sew.” 🙂

  118. Thank you all for running the awards. It’s really great to celebrate the season’s best moments.

I think I voted for most of the winners, but pretty much all of the nominations could have been very worthy winners, so there’s no shame for the losers.

It’s also great to see so many people commenting here. Over 600 comments! Great community = great awards.

02:08 now so I better get some sleep…

  119. So far so good. Still don’t recall most of my votes, but Hinds definitely was one. This is rather fun.

  120. Having a blast catching up on this! Wish I could have made it for the live airing. Thanks for everything, as always, WotW! And thanks, GoT fandom, for being damned cool.

  121. I hope my salad-eating at the beginning was not too conspicuous. Just got home from work and was starving!

Thank you to everyone who voted and our amazing staff and volunteers who put it all together. I was so happy to pariticipate!

  122. Bex,

lol, yeah it was a little. It was making me hungry and chugging the beer was making me thirsty.

I’m trying to save an unopened full set of the beers. It’s hard to not pop ’em open and enjoy.

  123. Great job, folks! So sad for Iain Glen ’cause he’s so fantastic, but Alfie is super-fantastic. It’s an embarrassment of riches here!

Gah! The off season is such a loooong wait!

  124. I wish I had been able to listen live, but homework takes priority. Can’t say I agree with some of the winners (“Fewer” is a great comedic quote, but not a scene; I voted for Cersei and Margaery), but I’m not surprised either. Even if I don’t post much, I’ve been coming to the site and reading the comment section long enough to know which way the wind is blowing, after all. Regardless, congratulations to all the winners!

  125. The awards are my favorite off-season posts. Plus, it’s remarkable how much our community here agrees, given all the bickering amongst commenters 🙂

  126. Wow, almost all my favourites won! Happy to see Lena and Stephen emerge victorious in particular, as this really was their season to shine, and they both knocked it out of the park.

Thanks for putting this on, WOTW staff!

  127. 10 in the morning here and I’m about to watch all of this. Good job everyone.

And this is one of those times I’m sad to be on the wrong side of the ocean. 🙁

  128. Great job, WotW! Thanks! My time frame is screwed up. Wonder if it’s too late to compete? 🙂

  129. Laura:
very interesting that only one category was close – everything else was a blowout. Great job all!

I noticed that too, I was surprised on how decisive nearly every category was – can’t really argue those results, even if your favorite didn’t win 🙂

  130. Surprised Cersei’s Walk did not poll better, but surprised — and glad — that Alfie won. He played the heck out of Reek.

    Congrats to all winners!

  131. Like many I had issues with this season, but these awards (and the process of paring down all the nominees) have been a great reminder that so much more went right than went wrong. Thanks for all the hard work wotw!

  132. Day late, dollar short. Lots of catastrophe’s last night at home i.e, door off it’s hinges (too cold to not have a door), dog sick and a bevy of other things. I am thrilled to have seen the results, though. Thank you to WOTW for everything you do for us!!!!

  133. Shocker… Hardhome and Stannis clear up!

Nothing for poor Olenna. 🙂 She’s still my favourite!

  134. ahh I cannot wait for season 6… albeit I have not read any spoilers, but I just am soooooo excited

Season 5 is ONE OF MY FAVORITES, and am hoping season 6 can top it!!!!!

  135. Tower of joy, the battle in the north, Jon snow being resurrected, the siege of riverrun, the flashbacks, tyrion kicking ass and taking names, Dragons, the last goes on XD

  136. Sorry I couldn’t catch the live broadcast, but all the winners are deserving and I am sure I missed a great show by WotW/GOO. w00t!!

  137. I think I entered on this page but just in case I entered the wrong place, I’m entering here. I really want this! It would totally make my week and I’ve had a crappy month.

  138. These awards were great and congrats to all the winners. Keep up the awesome work WOTW, best Game of Thrones site on the planet!

  139. Was surprised that Cersei’s Walk did not poll better — even from only the neck up, Lena killed it!

  140. I see a lot of people want to win those blue rays, Luckily Not.
For i! The Dragon Knight shall Win those Swords!!!! Mwhahahaha!!!

  141. I wonder if they Gave Arthur Dayne a unique looking Dawn, what do you guys think ?
Gane of thrones has been pretty good with their weapons design.
And doesn’t House Tarly have a Valyrian Steel sword to in their Family ?

  142. just watched the podcast great fun everyone drinking so happy days. Far too late for prizes though. Glad hardhome won bit gutted kit didn’t win for actor but overall the awards went to disserving winners

  143. The awards next year is going to be amazing, all the content they are putting is season 6 has me pumped up.
Cheers for Season 6, good luck to cast and crew for their hard work on what looks like another Amazing Year of Game of Thrones.

  144. I just finished the YouTube airing and that was some fun. I wish that everyone has been introduced. Or maybe it was cut off? Also it was hard to understand who was talking when it was just the Google man in the frame. 😉

Tons of fun, next year I will do my best to be there for the real deal. You ladies and gents at WotW and GOO are great.

    In Sue we trust!!

  145. Hodo
when will they pick the winner for the prize ?
    this is pretty exciting lol
    Hodor

  146. Am I the only one for whom the October 28th posts didn’t show up until today? Even thru early this morning, WotW only showed the GOO podcast from the NYCC’s Night of Ice and Fire.

Totally would’ve commented and thrown my hat into the ring for a chance to win prizes. Just figured the postings for the 28th had somehow gotten delayed.

Feeling a bit disappointed. Anyone else face the same thing? Or was I simply not meant to enjoy the live festivities? :/

  147. Walker White,

This is the first I’ve heard of your problem, it was just fine for me last night. and don’t worry, I still believe you can still win the blue ray steel books mr White.

  148. Matthew The Dragon Knight:

Yes, House Tarly has a Valyrian steel sword. Its name is Heartsbane.
  149. Mihnea,

That’s good, always nice to see more valyrian steel on the show.
Ice, Longclaw , Widows Wail, Oath Keeper, I think that’s about it.
Can’t wait to see heartsbane, and Dawn even though it isn’t valyrian steel.

  150. Hodor
I really hope they announce the winner soon lol
Can’t wait to threaten who ever wins XD

  151. Who ever passes the sentence should swing the sword, the winner will be beheaded. we owe it to him to look him in the eyes when the sword comes down.

  152. Matthew The Dragon Knight:
Gane of thrones has been pretty good with their weapons design.

IMO, the exception to this is the show version of Longclaw’s wolf head pommel. When LC Mormont handed it to Jon in the show and said he’d replaced the bear head with that of a wolf in honor of House Stark, I took one look at it and thought, if anything, it still kinda looked like a bear but the color was changed to white. The ears look atrocious, and the eyes are set much too far apart, almost as if it’s vision is like a dinosaur’s with one on each side of the head. This is something that always bugged me.

There’s a whole article about it on Quora.

I mean, compare the show Longclaw with the book Longclaw designed by GRRM at Valyrian Steel (the official weapons and armor replica seller). Here’s the show version, and here’s the book version.

I’d take the latter any day of the week. Looks a helluva lot better, if ya ask me, and actually looks like a wolf’s head!!! Not to mention the crossguard is a bit bigger and more practical…

*Que the ire of the droves of fans who’ve bought replicas of show Longclaw*

The pommel of the wolf head on the show version is just weird looking. I guess I didn’t notice it during the episodes. Now, it will bother me.

  154. lol I still like tem both, doesn’t bother me at all. I like the design on both of them.

  155. Angela,
Sorry to have ruined that bit of the show for you. It’s always bothered me since that very first scene where LC Mormont hands it to Jon.

May it be the only thing on the show that bothers us both!
