Twitter’s Merciless

And so we come to the Game of Thrones season finale; it’s been an interesting ride this year, and if we’re being honest – thoroughly polarizing.

Don’t take my word for it, however. Take Twitter’s! As per the norm, I, your amiable @Axechucker, went forth unto the Twittersphere and gathered tweets from high and low, near and far, some bearing the #GameOfThrones or the #MothersMercy ‘tags, others simply from the hysterical handful I already know and love.

And so I give you, my beloved unwashed plebes, this year’s final Twitter post!

    Also, we know exactly what Littlefinger’s doing because he told us. Wait for Stannis and the Boltons to kill each other, and then sweep in with the Vale Knights and take Winterfell. He will then be Warden of the North AND Lord of the Vale. And then, I imagine, he’ll plan to take King’s Landing. One kink in his plan? Sansa got the hell out.

I only cared for the celebrities tweets,sorry to say but this year’s tweets post has been swarmed with so many whining book purist that it’s just not fun to read like it was in the past , the whole point of these tweets were to see the reaction of unsullied not to read more whiny shit which i have to put up everyday on this site and others,i usually get mi fix now from youtube reaction videos,those feel more genuine. Again sorry to sound like a grumpy cat but i think these just aren’t for me anymore .

    Most interesting takeaway from that article is this little tidbit on season 6 (first thing I’ve seen in print by D&D on any season 6 storyline):

    “In [Cersei’s] mind, Myrcella was taken away from her by Tyrion; she still blames him for Joffrey’s death, and he is directly responsible for Myrcella going to Dorne,” says Benioff. “So in her worldview, both of her children’s deaths are to be laid at his doorstep. This is one more thing to motivate her homicidal hatred of him.”

    Thanks for this final Twitter Tour!

    I have to say: I’ve created Twitter recaps myself and enjoyed recaps from others and I know how time-consuming and eye-ball straining they can be. I have never seen one as good as yours, though!

    I love your comments. They not only bind one segment of show response to the next, but they also give you an opportunity to provide us with book information, insights into filming, some often hilarious rejoinders, and other great stuff. And I appreciate that a lot.

    Thanks so much for taking on this Mountainous task (yes, you saw what I did there) and I second the motion: write up a review for Season Five!

  26. Again, Lena would have been like a “day” pregnant when they did the filming of the walk at the beginning of October. Pregnancy would not be showing and not the reason.

    Yeah that one made me laugh out loud too.

    As to your second point, definite suicide. Tall tree for dramatic effect. You’re not supposed to think about the practicalities! 🙂 (Can just imagine her trying and failing to climb the damn tree for hours)

    From a vulture interview I read yesterday, one of the reasons for Lena Headey’s body double were her many tattoos. Not too easy to hide in all takes.

    Still, while it may sound very inappropriate to ask, did we actually see anything more of Lena Headey than her head?

    Why do you care so much? She has every right to her choices.

    I don’t care that she used a double. It makes no difference to me. However, for some reason it’s just bugging me that I keep seeing people/articles mentioning her as being pregnant at the time as the possible reason for it. It’s documented that the filming of it was at the beginning of October and Lena said herself she’s due the first week of July. It would be more accurate to say she got pregnant WHILE filming the WoS scene.

    Suicide. Yes, her feet are significantly above the ground, but that’s the point of hanging, innit? If you could stand on your tiptoes, you wouldn’t die. You also want the drop to be fast and furious to break the neck straight away, ideally, so that there is little suffering. A horse, especially a tall one, or one of those big rocks kicked over would have done the trick.
