We may not be able to play the political game of thrones of King’s Landing but, thanks to CMON and Dark Sword Miniatures’ collaboration, we can at least partake in a Game of Thrones tabletop game (by far the safer option).
“CMON’s relationship with Dark Sword dates back over a decade, and we have contemplated a more serious collaboration for a very long time,” CMON’s Founder and President David Doust said. “This project allows us to dig deep into George R.R. Martin‘s mind and recreate the iconic battles from his award-winning novels on the tabletop.”
According to CMON, A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game offers players the chance to assume control over the Westerosi house of their choice and pit their favorite characters (represented by beautifully crafted, pre-assembled miniatures) against each other in off-book conflicts of their own design.
The game features a Rank System that changes a unit’s capabilities as the battle unfolds, alternating activations and a Tactics System that provides strategic powers fueled by a finite resource each round.
A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game will head to Kickstarter later this year and hit retail stores in 2018.
I want.
“Hold the Floor!”*
*Me the morning after St. Patrick’s Day
That must have been one hell of a St. Patty’s day celebration: it’s now the 2nd morning after! 😀
Sounds like fun. But I think I’d still rather learn how to play cyvasse!
Wimsey,
What happens in my local tavern stays in my local tavern.
Theoretically, at least. 😉
Yeah, that happens when the stale beer glues your face to the floor. Not that I’d, uh, know from, er, personal experience. I, um, read about it!
Cool!
Unfortunately I think my wallet can’t handle another ASoIaF game collection, the (brilliant and wonderful) A Game of Thrones: The Card Game is my current obsession.
Please do a give-away with this once it is released… Or maybe an advance copy!
