We have another visual effects video to share with you today, featuring the amazing work done on Game of Thrones season 6. Mackevision worked on the show once again this year, creating the dazzling vistas of King’s Landing and throughout Westeros. The company’s reel highlights their work on the fall of Balon Greyjoy and the incredible final scene of season 6, with Daenerys’ armada on the move. Enjoy!
Iloura’s VFX reel featuring Battle of the Bastards turned up earlier this month.
you really have to appreciate the work that goes into this.
All respect for the people involved!
Hodor!
Wow! Amazing job!
The armada actually didn’t look particularly photorealistic to me, so I’m not sure I’d use that scene in a promo video.
Jelmazmo!!!
What’s there to say about these guys that has not been said in the past…
A sure emmy for GOT on this category
Amazing special effects work, a lot better than in many movies.
I was always wondering, is the chorus in this song (Mhysa, from S3 Soundtrack) saying ‘Du bist frei’ ?
Cool!
Rhaenys Stark,
Haha I don’t think there’s any German in that song…. here are the lyrics to “Mhysa” (according to the interwebs):
Dāervose jevosy yne enkot daor.
Jemot ziry tepagon koston daor.
Dāerves jevys tepagon yne sytilībos daor.
Jemēle mēri sytilības.
Lo ziry arlī jaelāt, jamelo syt ziry mazemagon jemo bēvilza.
Tolvies jemys.
It is mind boggling how much work and talent goes into every aspect of this show The CGI is just beyond wonderful. (I didn’t find a way e to slow it down, I would have liked to have seen it in more detail. Anyone knkow?)
Wow! They do an amazing job on this show.
This kind of stuff just blows my mind. It’s hard to tell where real ends and CGI begins.
So amazing how real they make these digital images look. Always impressed with their work. <3
Roberto Baratheos,
No, this is what Daenerys says to the crowd just before the song starts.
This video is cool and all, but it makes it seem like everything on the show is fake. It really makes me think different about the show, as in is anything they show on screen real? I dunno……
First time seeing this. Interesting – the placement of the shadows.
Ser JJ Watt,
The point of the videos is to show what IS real, and what they have to make look real.
Of course there are real things in the show too. Those 2 minutes hardly constituted “everything”. Do you think that CGI like this is easy and cheap to make?
