Just as we are receiving lots of goodies in the buildup to Season 5, Telltale Games has released the trailer (see the embedded video after the break) and release dates for the next episode entitled, “The Sword in the Darkness”. This episode will be the third out of an eventual six for their Game of Thrones series. This latest installment will be available for purchase tomorrow, 3/24/2015, for PC/Mac, PlayStation 4 & 3 (US/SCEA), for Xbox One & 360 (Worldwide), PlayStation 4 & 3 (EU/SCEE) on 3/25/2015 and for iOS & Android-based devices on 3/26/2015.
The trailer hints that things aren’t going so well at Ironrath and the members of House Forrester are facing a number of challenges. Don’t miss the last few seconds of the trailer. There is an interesting “character” that makes an appearance at the 1:30 mark.
Can’t wait for this one though
a lot of shambling around with rodrick :/
oh noooo! not stairssss again!
Great trailer, I can’t wait to play it. I must congratulate Telltale for their steady releases for GoT. Poor Borderlands fans (myself included) had to wait 4 months for episode 2.
Talking about the trailer, I wish they’d use more of the show’s soundtrack in the game.
Also, I hope Telltale will use Drogon for more than a few seconds (like the show always does), it’s a lot easier to animate a video-game version of him, and I want to see more of the dragons. Rhaegal/Viserion cameo later on? 😛
If you look at the video description it has all of the release dates. iOS and Android will be out on the 26th.
Really looking forward to the new episode!
Morgan,
Unfortunately for me, it doesn’t have the Kindle Fire release date, even though it is basically an Android device. Episode 2 was released about 3 weeks after all of the other platforms.
Morgan,
Okay, didn’t see the info in the “show more” on Youtube. Only saw on the video where it said “iOS and Android coming soon”. It’s been corrected. Thanks!
Balerion The Cat,
That’s what I’m thinking will happen, actually. And if we don’t see a live one up there, then maybe just the bones. In canon more than a few dragons went missing in Westeros.
Thar be DRAGONS!
This artwork is GORGEOUS!
Balerion The Cat,
It could be, but based on how the episodes are being released, the last two will be after season 5 ends, probably so the game won’t spoil the show.
People complain about the lack of action or being able to completely control said action, but like the series, the game producers have excelled at having the gamer become invested in the characters and their story. Mia sighting in the trailer, I so want a shout out in a scene where Cersei or Marg call her out by name, please D&D.
Looking forward to it
Should be a good game but I’ll probably wait a few days to see the reviews about the episode’s iOS performance… the last episode was an unplayable mess for the first two weeks until they patched it. The lack of “true” interactivity is a bummer but the story is very well told, and it may be here that the paths start to diverge somewhat. I may be remembering wrongly, but I think the trailer shows a character who’s already dead in “my” game.
tyjon,
That would be pretty awesome, I would lose my shit! Ha.
