Watchers on the Wall’s Take the Black Contest – Day Five!

unnamed

–This contest is now closed–

The Wall can be a cold and unforgiving place, so we Watchers need to find some way to keep ourselves entertained. But, since we can only remember half the words to “The Rains of Castamere” and none of us can play the harp, a good, old-fashioned sing-a-long is out; as is a brief trip to Molestown (too poor), or a foray into the Haunted Forest (too scary).

So instead, we bring you, dear readers, a celebration of you, our black brothers (and sisters) in arms with a week-long giveaway of some of the finest merchandise in all the realm!

Each day this week, we will be giving away a fabulous prize graciously donated to us from The Noble Collection, which is world-renowned for their high-quality merchandise and prop reproductions.

This week’s final prize is their Drogon Baby Dragon Sculpture which stands at an adorable 4.5 inches in height, and typically retails for $39.00.

  1. Long live Aegon VI, the people’s king!

Jon and Dany would both be excellent candidates though, with my preference leaning slightly towards Jon. And of course, this needs to end with the free and independent Kingdom of Dorne 😉

  2. I absolutely believe that Stannis will sit the Iron Throne. There is one true king. All the others are pretenders.

  3. Shireen, even though

I think no one will sit on the Iron Throne at the end of the story – the monarchy will be destroyed.
  4. That shitty chair is completely up for grabs! We need somebody with some silent gusto and steely resolve. Somebody who thinks outside of the box. I nominate: Roose Bolton!!!

And as for Stannis, he is just plain delusional with an over-bloated sense of self-importance. He has no “true” claim. His brother Robert was a drunken and jealous usurper who was dumped by Lyanna Stark because he was a manwhore. Get over it Robert. And thanks for starting a century of war, asshole.

Don’t get me wrong, Dany is also a entitled cry baby as well. Keep plucking that chicken in Essos, Dany.

  5. Tywin. With Joanna and a PR-savvy Hand.
I know they are dead, whatever, I am not even entering the contest since it would have been unfair if by some luck I won, but I felt the need to share.

Good luck to everyone and thanks for doing this, guys!

  6. I feel that at the end, there will be no more Iron Throne…

They will melt it down with dragon flame to forge a big bunch of new magical swords of dragonsteel to fight against the Others…

At the end there will be two thrones, for a King And a Queen, a Throne of Ice, a Throne of Fire. As a new era for Westeros will begin, Dany and Jon will sit on these thrones, equal.

  7. Dark Star! Daynes rule! “He is of the night…”
(Not really. No one will sit in that bloody chair at the end.)

  8. I don’t think the throne will survive until the end, but I’d like to see Stannis on there before it gets destroyed.

  9. Jon Snow. Mormont’s raven has the right of it.

“Corn,” the bird said, and, “King,” and, “Snow, Jon Snow, Jon Snow.”

  10. Hodor would be hilarious, but in the end, I think the Iron Throne will be seated by no one. I bet it would be melted down and everything return back to truly 7 kingdoms.

  11. Shireen Baratheon will be the queen and will reign with her husband Rickon Stark, and Davos as her Hand.
Bran, Jon, Dany and Tyrion will all be very important in the final battle against the White Walkers, but will not wish the Iron Throne or the crown.

  12. Tyrion. I got other favourite characters I prefer, but I couldn’t imagine them on throne for different reasons. Tyrion seems to be the most suitable to rule the iron throne.

  13. Aemon… then this mess would have never happened. I think several people will sit the Iron Throne before this is done.

To GRRM’s credit, none of his characters are fit to rule.

If I had to pick, I would pick Varys, he actually seems to care what is best for the realm and he is smart enough to keep things together.

  14. The nights king/Darth maul will sit the iron throne. It is known.

Not entering the draw as I’ve already secured myself a baby Dragon 🙂

  15. The administration:
    King Tyrion
    Queen Sansa
    Lord Hand Varys
    Grand Maester Samwell
Margaery, Mistress of Coin and Whispers
    Davos, Master of Ships

  16. I would love to see Jon and Dany, but if certain things don’t pan out for the best… I’d pick Tyrion as a backup plan!

  17. King Brandon Stark (The Winged Wolf)!!!!Flung from the tower into a coma,Hitman sent to murder him while in said coma,Lost use of his legs, Three eyed raven nightmares,Ambushed and cut by Wildlings,Father Arrested,Father Beheaded,Hunted by Turncloak Greyjoy,Hiding and on the run since Winterfell was captured by Ironborn,Sisters Sansa and Arya missing,Grandfather passes away,Mother murdered,Eldest brother murdered,Unknown Sister in law and nephew murdered,Dragged and carried from Winterfell to north beyond the Wall.Sends youngest brother away with Osha,Sees half brother twice but cannot talk to him,Trying to cope with being a warg,Locke cutting him and trying to kidnap him from Crasters for Roose Bolton.Watched his friend Jojen stabbed to death by reanimated skeletons Almost killed by reanimated skeletons,Dragged underground, told he will never walk again by the Three Eyed Crow, and then……………………………………………

  18. Queen of Westeros, Shireen Baratheon, “born amidst salt and smoke,” more so than her father, Stannis, the ham.

I think the War of Dragons will end in death for Dany & Co. I think Shireen will lead an Holy War and put down Melisandre & Co.

    Where is TWoW?

  19. Jon or Stannis. I’ve hoped that Jon would be king ever since ‘A Game Of Thrones’, and I’m somewhat confident he will wind up as king. But I sympathize with Stannis’ cause. By all rights, he is Robert’s heir. He’s an uncompromising hardass, but he is just. If only he and Jon could have a timeshare on the iron throne. A cold knife to my throat, I’ve gotta go with Jon, with Tyrion as Hand of the King.

  20. I was going to say Daenerys because I think she’d be a good queen… but then someone mentioned Hot Pie and so I think I will agree. Long live KING HOT PIE! 😀

  21. Balerion the cat, it is known.

(In truth I’d love Varys but I reckon Shireen or Arya will sit on the iron “high chair”, if it’ll still exist)

  22. Stannis!

    Spoilering everything because it’s easier.

Daenerys is going mad, Tommen is too young and in bad hands ( Cersei is insane and the Tyrell are schemers ), Euron is mad and cruel, Aegon is… I don’t know what he is, but he hasn’t proven himself yet. If Sansa makes it, she’s gonna be as bad as Littlefinger, and if Jon Snow is rez’ed up, he’s gonna be LadyStoneheart-like. And he wasn’t all that great to begin with, he broke every single vow he took for the NW. Stannis is the only great candidate. And he happens to have pretty much the best “good person” in the entire story as his Hand, that counts for something.
  23. Jory,

Jon is a warg. His mind is inside Ghost. Should he need to be resurrected, theoretically, he would still be himself because his mind would have lived on inside of Ghost.
  24. Tyrion Pimpslap:
    Jory,

I wonder how that would affect him, still. Varamyr tells us about how warging deer and other “prey” animals made him a coward, so he stopped. Could Jon warging Ghost, dying ( as jon ) and then being rez’ed and pulled back into his real body, affect him more than just standard warging? Either way, I don’t see him come back and be the exact same Jon Snow. And even if he was, the situation at the wall will be so chaotic, what will happen… God, why can’t tWoW come faster.
  25. They both so spiky lol. I’d love to see Stannis upon the throne. He could bring some much needed stability to the realm, assuming it doesn’t get swept aside by Fire & Ice. Drogon curled up in the throne room with a dead Daario in his belly and a nonchalant and battletorn Dani sitting exhausted upon the throne. Or The Knights King or whoever he is, laughing maniacally until he explodes in shards of ice and magic and something wtf happens idk.

    No.

It would have to be Jon, the bastard of the north, with his trusty Sambo and that adorably annoying crow.

    “SNOOOOOW”

  26. No One. And I don’t mean Arya Stark! By the end of ASoIaF or GoT (whichever ends first), I don’t see an Iron Throne.

To the one poster who says IB owns it, no matter who sits it :highfive:

  27. Sansa would be great, because she has learned how politics work by now, but she stays gentle inside.

But I don’t think this is going to happen.

  28. I´d like the Throne to be melted and no one ever sitting on it again 😀

But if i had to choose it´s gonna be Stannis

  29. Jon, King-Beyond-the-Wall
    Bran, King of Winter
Dany, Queen of King’s Landing, The Reach, and The Neck
    Myrcella, Princess of Dorne
Asha, Queen of the Iron Islands
