The Game of Thrones season 6 red carpet event is tonight!

#GOTPremiereLA

Posted by Michiel Huisman on Sunday, April 10, 2016

The Game of Thrones red carpet premiere is tonight, in Los Angeles, and we can look forward to many of the shows’ stars being in attendance for the big occasion. The first episode of season 6 will debut before a select audience; the red carpet portion beforehand, packed with fan questions and GoT cast members on the carpet, will be broadcast live on Facebook.

The #GOTPremiereLA event, which starts at 5PM Pacific time (8PM Eastern), will be hosted by Veronica Belmont. When the video prepares to go live, we’ll get that embedded over here to make it easier to find.

As Michiel Huisman explains in the above video, fans may add their questions into the mix by visiting the Game of Thrones Facebook page to submit them.

The Red Woman,” as the first episode is titled, will only be viewed by the premiere’s guests. The rest of us will have to wait until April 24th to find out what’s happening in Westeros after the events of the season 5 finale!

Among the stars headed to and already in Los Angeles for the #GOTPremiereLA:

Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark)

Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane). Watch this video if it’s the only thing you do today.

Eugene Simon (Lancel Lannister)

Dean-Charles Chapman (Tommen Baratheon)

Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne)

Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) is already in the area for the MTV Movie Awards, which taped last night.

Finn Jones’ (Loras Tyrell) most recent and rather random Instagram video has him checked into Los Angeles.

Toilet Bros. ✨????✨

As reported a few days ago, other stars such as Liam Cunningham, Alfie Allen, and Lena Headey are already in Los Angeles this week. We will likely see many others not named here as well, so be sure to tune into the live broadcast tonight!

edit: even though this is my first comment on this site I’ve been following this website and its predecessor since the very beginning 😉 can’t wait for season 6, bring on the spoilers after tonights premiere!

  2. dragonreborn:
none of you guys are there? I’m surprised they didn’t invite!

Have any of the staff been invited to previous Red Carpet premieres?

  3. Being a hater of spoilers, I like how they’re only screening for mostly cast and crew I think and no media screeners.

  4. Connor:
Can we expect any leaks after the premiere?

    Also, 14 more days!!!!!

    GET HYPE

New avatar! I don’t think there will be any leaks this time. Security will be super tight tonight. Remember that the leaks last season were from screeners and not the red carpet.

  5. LatrineDiggerBrian:

No media screeners this year, but media will still be attending the premeire tonight.

  6. There are definitely some hangers-on at these events who will no doubt leak plot spoilers. I expect to see a lot of spoiler text in the next 2 weeks 🙁

  7. Jack Bauer 24: No media screeners this year, but media will still be attending the premeire tonight.

Not so much worried about the media as I am about screeners getting loose. That fan that won the trip by donating to charity, hopefully HBO nabs him and throws him in a dungeon for two weeks after premiere is finished.

  8. Laura:

I really don’t think so. They wouldn’t even let George’s movie theatre screen it. I think they’re really keeping it tight.

There are no screeners this year. HBO didn’t send any out.

  10. I really doubt Jon Snow issue will be resolved for good in the first episode. I wonder if they’re gonna show only the first or first two episodes.

  11. How many spoilers do we usually get from these premiere episodes? What spoilers did we get from the premiere last season, for example?

  12. If Jon’s rezz happened in Episode 1, there’s just no way that word wouldn’t leak out after the premiere. That’s why I’m convinced that they’ll hold it off just a bit longer.

    The hype is strong tonight!

  13. Deesensfan:
Do we expect spoilers regarding episode 1 after the screening?

I wish there will, If Jon snuh rezzes tonight I ought to know!

  14. dragonreborn:

They are showing one episode. The premiere episode “The Red Woman”.

Zero chance Jon is rezzed in this episode. Zero chance they’d risk that leaking.

  15. Joffrey’s Cunt,

    Dragonslayer,

I know my friends here would love spoilers! But I hope not.. Though it’s inevitable. Hopefully spoilers are controlled well here so I’m not avoiding this website for two weeks!

Ahhh two weeks! I can’t wait

My bets are that he gets rezzed in episode 2 at least. I don’t want them to drag it out.

  17. At the very least, what new location (if any) will be in the opening will be leaked

  18. There will be spoilers before morning. Just expect it and be cautious of it if you don’t want to know them! 🙂 (I have little faith in secret keepers past cast/crew).

    That’s a rather seductive pose there, Daniel…

Ahhh two weeks! I can’t wait

I understand that. I’ve got the devil and the angel on my shoulders just now making that decision

  20. Did anyone notice how Michiel Huisman did his announcement in American accent? That was pretty cool. Jesus…I would bang that guy in a heart beat and I’m a hetero male.

  21. Deesensfan,

    I don’t want any spoilers!!!
I know, that may seem strange given I follow filming spoilers, but once seasons begin, I don’t want to know anything beyond what we learn from the official synopses, which are usually vague enough, and episode titles, until the episode airs.

  22. Pigeon:

    That’s a rather seductive pose there, Daniel…

Christ, that’s the first thing I thought when scrolling down tbh. My meme-side immediately went down the Daddy Daniel route.

  23. So will there be early reviews coming for the first episode after the premiere?

  24. Joffrey’s Cunt,

    Hahaha! It’s tough decision

I’ve been avoiding spoilers all year so the last thing I want is actual episode spoilers hahaha

    Nymeria Warrior Queen,

That’s a good choice queen nym!!!! I hope it’s all controlled hahaha
It’s crazy – it’s like classified government documents almost!!

  25. Matthew The Dragon Knight:
So will there be early reviews coming for the first episode after the premiere?

I’ve contacted IGN and they said they weren’t sure what HBO was allowing as far as write ups/premiere impressions were concerned. I’ll follow up with them tomorrow.

  26. Deesensfan,

Your self-control throughout the off-season has astounded me!!! I can’t wait for it to pay off for you as the season airs! 🙂

    debbi,

Yeah, ’cause the leaks last year were soooooo awesome. *rolling eyes*

At least, with screeners not being sent out, even if some asshole somehow gets hold of the first episode and spoils it for people, it should stop there…hopefully.

  27. what are the type of spoilers we usually get from those premieres? I’m really curious and want to calibrate my hypemeter for the days to come.

  28. Yaga:
Here’s hoping for a complete episode leak in a few hours’ time.

We’re only 14 days away now! Tomorrow will be less than 2 weeks and the countdown will be in single digits Friday 🙂

  29. LatrineDiggerBrian: Did anyone notice how Michiel Huisman did his announcement in American accent?

    Pretty good American accent there!

His hair is short and season 7 filming should start in three-four months. Is Daario a goner in Season 6?

  30. Nymeria Warrior Queen,

Thanks queen nym. It’s been hard
This is the most involved I have been with off season stuff so it’s been hard but I managed through it.
Y’all have been hyping me up hard so I’m stoked!!!!!

  31. Only time will tell whether or not we get any leaks from the premiere. Perhaps, if there isn’t an embargo in place, we’ll get some official non-spoiler impressions/reviews from media outlets in attendance. “Regarding Jon Snow, I can’t say anything, but oh, let me tell you … his presence looms over the episode in a major way.” 😉

Otherwise, if we’re lucky, there may be one or two fans who got tickets and are willing to offer up some details, assuming that they haven’t haven’t been compelled to sign some kind of NDA (unlikely, since premieres are ostensibly public events). They’d be rare birds, but it’s not out of the question.

However, the one thing that we’re absolutely certain to see starting tomorrow is the usual “I’ve seen the episode! AMA!” threads popping up on Reddit, IMDB, and other websites from people claiming that they attended the premiere. Most of these supposed leaks will be total BS, though a few of them may be savvy enough to keep their “spoilers” consistent with what’s been confirmed from trailers, clips, and filming news. Keep your eyes open, and make sure you know how to separate the wheat from the chaff (which is easier to do if you’ve been playing this game for a few years). Otherwise, take everything you hear with an enormous grain of salt. We’re only two weeks away!

  32. Gods, I’m conflicted. I love love love spoilers. Normally I’d want someone who goes to the red carpet premiere to spoil me rotten about episode 1. But given that so much was left up in air in 5×10, I’m not sure I want some poorly written, not very detailed, going-by-memory synopsis to spoil all the good stuff.

I do think there will be a few spoilers floating around after the premiere tonight. Most will probably be totally BS written by people who want attention, but I don’t doubt there will some genuine ones out there. My dilemma is whether I will want to read them. This is a feeling I’ve never experienced before in regards to spoilers. Argh.

And I don’t think the Jon thing will happen in 6×01. I’m sure D&D are fully aware of the possibility that it will leak as soon as the LA premiere is over, so they most likely left it for episode 2.

    Only 14 more days!! Eeeeee!!

  33. Kay: Pretty good American accent there!

His hair is short and season 7 filming should start in three-four months. Is Daario a goner in Season 6?

I think he could definitely grow that out in 3 months.

  34. For those asking about the spoilers we should expect, unless something leaks, which I very much doubt this year, what we can expect is really vague previews from the media outlets invited to the premiere. They didn’t send screeners this year, but of course the media was invited to the LA premiere, and reviews will come from it. Don’t expect spoilers, but expect to have a sense of what kind of episode it will be —How it will feel like, whether or not it’s any good, etcetera.

For example, after last year’s premiere the reviews mentioned that it felt the show was very deliberately moving to an endpoint, that it felt like the showrunners were freer to experiment in their adaptation, yet also that there weren’t any major shocks and some mentioned it was a bit slow and not as good as the season four premiere. “The Wars to Come” does feel like all of that, in my opinion. So hopefully the reviewers will give us an impression of what to expect in a few weeks.

  35. Only cast, crew, selected media outlets and the lucky winner (+1) will be in attendance. So any random poster on fansites claiming to have been there and posting ‘spoilers’ will be a troll.

  36. Is G.R.R.M. going to be there? Have noticed a lack of activity on his blog for a couple of weeks, aside from a post by one of his minions where the comments were shut off.

  37. LatrineDiggerBrian:

He won’t be there. He said he had a prior commitment.

  38. Who shall perish tonight?!

    100-to-1: Ghost
    10-to-1: Olly
    7-to-1: Ellaria
    5-to-1: Balon
    2-to-1: Some NW

Hmm…I wonder if there has been sort of a natural parting of ways with the show for George. This must be a hard time for him right now. I realize the show has made him a lot of money and made him a celebrity, but I can only imagine it’s very difficult for him to not be able to be the first one to tell the story that he’s been working on for 25 years now. This is pretty much an unprecedented situation. I don’t think there is a rift, but I think as he’s been less involved and the story has diverged a lot from the books, maybe he just decided it would be better to not attend the premiere, comic con, etc. Will be interesting to see if he attends the Emmy’s in September.

The official reason for his absence as of late has been that he’s focused on finishing TWOW, which should make book readers happy. That said, he’s certainly less involved in the show, perhaps not only because of TWOW but because it’d be more difficult for him to write an episode now that there are this many divergences. He has said as much.

  41. Kay: Pretty good American accent there!

And Dany is a blonde but Emilia is a brunette. The whole hair thing is overrated I think. Extensions work.

  42. Just wanted to tell y’all that it’s been another fantastic off-season reading everyone’s comments here everyday. I don’t know why I’ve never taken the jump and really invested myself in the fandom here — maybe I will before the show’s end — but it’s never a dull moment lurking amongst such passionate folks as yourselves.

And yet again, we are so, so, so close to the on-season. 😀

  43. People calm the hype down.

    Look at the countdown clock.

This means nothing to us, we still have to wait 2 weeks … and lets face it, storytelling wise the show only starts to get intresting around the 4th or 5th episode. So thats a month long wait.

Ep1 will most likely just be an intro without any radical developments like the first ep has always been.

The last clip that was shown contradicts what you just said.

  46. What the hell is wrong with people begging for a leak? you wait for a whole year to see the new season and you wanna spoilet a couple of weeks before either by reading a couple of sentences telling you what happens, or with a crappy quality video.

Are you a book reader who already knew everything that was going to happen last year? I thought there was plenty of interesting stuff going on in the first 4 episodes of season 5… and all of the other seasons tbh. Mance died in the first episode. We got to see Arya finally enter the house of B & W. We saw where Tyrion and Sansa were headed. The awesome horse fight between Brienne and Baelish guards. In season 4 Joffrey died, in season 3 Dany torched Astapor and Mormont died.

Heard a lot of people echo the same sentiment last year, how nothing happened till episode 8, and I whole heartedly disagree. I wonder if it was mostly impatient book readers who know what was going to happen.

  48. Tomás,

Some people like spoilers. For me, spoilers are an essential part of anticipating something. By reading spoilers from the Star Wars shooting schedule, I knew 90+% of what would happened in The Force Awakens last May but I was still incredibly excited as the lights dimmed in the theater in December. While I would likely not watch a leaked video of tonight’s episode (nor do I remember there ever being one from a GOT premiere) if there “a couple of sentences telling you what happened” tomorrow morning, I will read them and I will definitely still be excited for the 24th.

  49. Emilia saying Andy Sandberg is the funniest man she ever met? Didn’t she date Seth MacFarland or is this just an off the cuff remark? Either way I’ll be back for my spoilers later. Cheers

But imagine you’re excitement if you didn’t know what was going to happen and then were completely surprised by seeing it for the first time without having heard about it? I don’t see how knowing about it makes it more exciting for you. Just don’t get spoiler lovers but to each their own.

I knew about Rob’s death in season 3 which made the Red Wedding completely deflating for me. In season 4, I didn’t know about Oberyn and thought he was actually supposed to win, and it was a real shock to the system when he didn’t. Made it the greatest moment on television for me.

  53. Sorry for the off-topic, but this is great — perhaps the best Game of Thrones orchestral medley I’ve seen.

A tribute to the wonderful work Ramin Djawadi is doing.

  54. Is anyone from the Wall storyline (besides Davos and Tormund) going to show their face at the premiere?

  55. I’m curious to see if I can watch the GoT Red Carpet video stream on Farce book?

5pm in LA will be at 1am UK time. As I have a pretty piss-poor ADSL link, it will be hit and miss, not forgetting to mention the millions of peeps ‘tuned in’. Worth a try though 😉

Will there be a link from WotW direct to the video?

  56. Flayed Potatoes:
Is anyone from the Wall storyline (besides Davos and Tormund) going to show their face at the premiere?

I think we can expect Carice to be there.

  57. Connor:
I have no idea who the host is, but she has 1 million followers on twitter!

Wonder how many joined because of the premiere? She has almost 2 million. That is in really well known celebrity territory.

  58. LatrineDiggerBrian,

They barely followed the books a year ago. So it wasn’t just impatient book readers. I only read the first book. So I didn’t have any ideas of the book going into season 5 and I was thoroughly bored with some of the early season episodes. There were moments in those episodes don’t get me wrong, but I looked at the clock for the first time last season, something I never did in the previous 4 years. The clip we got the other day for season 6 looks like it immediately contradicts that potential, so I’m not expecting a similar situation.

I’m usually thoroughly intrigued with what’s going on in all episodes. Some story lines have lulls sometimes, but I was loving the beginning of last season. If anything, I thought the middle of last season had a little bit of a lull, but nothing major. But anyway, the actors and show runners seem to keep saying that this season is go go go go so I doubt it will have the same problem.

  61. Marco: perhaps the best Game of Thrones orchestral medley I’ve seen.

Totally inspiring. Thx for the link. Excellent performance. The cello soloist can be my red priestess any day. I think I spotted Ygritte on violin as well.

Emilia said this season is “mental” right from the start and has the biggest moments in “tv history”.

  63. What I’m not looking forward to (if by any chance we get real spoilers of major events or at least hints): the freak-out from some fans if Jon’s not revived in the first ep or made seem like he’s gone for good (which is what I totally expect will happen in the first ep, so as not to run the risk of the plot twist leaking 2 weeks before the season starts).

  64. phantomstrife:

    Bongo:
Could be ep 2, could be that they cut the final couple minutes out of the red carpet premiere.

Yeah I could seem them making Jon’s death seem final with a botched Melisandre resurrection attempt. I don’t think they’ll be cutting anything out of the premiere though tonight. Remember that some people paid thousands of dollars to see “The Red Woman” and not just a portion of it.

  65. Whatever the case, if any potential ‘spoiler’ doesn’t come directly from a journalist confirmed to have attended (surely they’d sign the NDAs though), we should take it with a huge grain of salt. I’ve seen plenty of random attention-seekers claiming to have inside scoop about many shows and movies. Either way, we will still have to wait for the episode itself to know for sure.

The botched attempt is very likely.

  67. Marco: Thank you, that was great!

Yeah thanks I’m enjoying that too. Absolutely criminal that Ramen hasn’t won an Emmy yet. He wasn’t even nominated last year! What other show even gives the opportunity for such a huge score with so many themes? And Ramen knocks each one out of the park.

I think that they need to off Balon quite early in the season in order to get the Kingsmoot/Euron story rolling. Episode 1 would not be too soon.

  69. phantomstrife,

Yes yes yes! I’ve theorized that she will try to resurrect him as “Jon Snow” but it won’t work, meaning that R’hllor needs a different name…

  70. I don’t know why people ACTUALLY expect Jon to be resurrected in episode 1. I will bet large bags of cash that, if he returns, he won’t be back until AT LEAST episode 4.

  71. Firannion: I think that they need to off Balon quite early in the season in order to get the Kingsmoot/Euron story rolling.Episode 1 would not be too soon.

The premiere is 50 minutes. I don’t think we’ll be seeing Euron just yet.

Well, I’m a book-reader more than I am a show-watcher (though I enjoy both), and I agree with you about the early-season episodes often being among my favorites. And I don’t just mean episodes with tons of action. “Setup” can be great storytelling!

I think that, rather than necessarily book-readers, the people who only like the last few episodes of each season tend to be action-movie fans who get easily bored with any scene that seems “talky.” I love the interpersonal dynamics and political machinations in this show way better than the boffo battle scenes, generally speaking. If anything, I worry that the final season or two will feel too rushed if they’re all just one big climactic scene building upon another, instead of having a nice rolling ebb-and-flow rhythm.

  73. Firannion,

Ditto. I tune out during the big action episodes, Watchers on the Wall, Blackwater, and Hardhome haven’t been my favorite episodes. And I hate the White Walkers in general, nothing more disinteresting than a mindless villain. Give me a Joffrey, Ramsey, or the upcoming villain any day over some stupid zombies.

We have not really dived into the NK or LoaW yet.

  75. phantomstrife,

Quite a while back I said I thought Melisandre would certainly try to resurrect Jon, but she’d fail, and either Bran or BR will somehow be involved, and possibly through Ghost. I wish there was a way of finding the post, ’cause it was so long ago, I don’t remember exactly how I set forth the idea, but it was after re-reading the book, so there was detail I’ve forgotten by now. I could have been completely off, but if I was correct, even a little, I’d love to see my prediction/thinking out loud, just to see how close I was.

  76. LatrineDiggerBrian,

Funny, while I don’t tune out big action scenes, they definitely aren’t my favorite. In fact, it took me more than one attempt to make it through Watchers on the Wall the first time. Unlike Blackwater (where there were cuts to much quieter scenes), and Hardhome (the action part of which was only part of the episode), an entire episode of almost nothing but fighting just wasn’t my thing. Once I got all the way through it, yes, I thought it was a good episode, but I had to set my distaste for action, in general, aside to watch the full episode.

*ducking from the inevitable shots about to be fired*

  77. So where is this premiere on Facebook? When is it 5PM Pacific Time? Now right??
I dont see anything. Can i watch this WITHOUT facebook?
There are lots of people who DONT want facebook…

  78. Jack Bauer 24,

Yeah, I agree. 50 minutes isn’t a ton of time, particularly if each location features multiple scenes.

My guess would be that the premiere focuses on:

Davos, Melisandre, and the Night’s Watch at The Wall (confirmed)
Sansa, Theon, and Brienne outside Winterfell (confirmed)
    Roose and Ramsay inside Winterfell
Cersei and Jaime in King’s Landing (confirmed)
    Dany and the Dothraki (confirmed)
    Tyrion in Meereen

    Possible check-ins include:

Arya in Braavos (probably, but not confirmed)
Bran (possibly, but his reintroduction needs time, and may not fit if the premiere’s action-packed)
Other King’s Landing characters like Margaery, Tommen, etc.
The Vale (Littlefinger will stop there before heading North, but I don’t know when)

I feel pretty confident that the premiere will skip:

    The Iron Islands
    Sam and Gilly
Jorah and Daario (should take them an episode or two to pick up Dany’s trail)
The Riverlands (won’t be seen until the latter half of the season)
    Dorne
  79. LatrineDiggerBrian,

The white walkers are some of the most interesting elements of the show. They are not mindless zombies, the wights (humans who have been reanimated by necromancy) are the zombie hordes. I love the intrigue and sentience that the white-walkers present, it seems like we would learn more about them this season. I love the white-walkers because they are a physical representation of winter. Cold, harsh, and unrelenting. All the politicians, zealots, crazies, and schemers would not be able to talk their way out this one. It is the part of the story that shows the impending doom of humanity in westeros, while everyone else is fighting over vain goals and desires.

  80. Where is the stream? I cant find it anywhere on Facebook…

Its on 8pm Eastern Time, but its not on.

  81. Jack Bauer 24: We have not really dived into the NK or LoaW yet.

True, my theory is John brought back to life by The Night King and he goes over to their side and we learn more about their whole deal (I think the Danish chick that died last season will become his new love interest). But yeah giving those guys personalities and a story will make it better.

  82. Is there a smiley-face at the bottom-left corner of the screen when scrolled all the way down for anyone else?

  83. No stream and the host hasn’t updated her social media accounts with any updates. Pretty unprofessional botch all around.

  84. Nymeria Warrior Queen,

Agreed. If it’s two massive armies colliding, I just couldn’t care less. I’ve already seen this happen in countless war movies and LoTR, it just doesn’t interest me any more. What I do like are the smaller action scenes, the trial by combats, the individual sword fights, the massacres, the murders, Dany’s taking of Astapor and Mereen, etc.

  85. I’m also watching the MTV Movie Awards. I’m only watching to see the new Captain America Civil war footage along with the new Suicide Squad footage as well.

I can’t find the stream anywhere for the GoT Season 6 premiere.

  86. I’m so happy I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t find it, I started to feel like a real idiot! Okay so it looks like we have to wait another fifteen minutes …. can’t wait!

  87. Joffrey’s Cunt:
What the fuck is happening? where’s the stream? :/

Yeah, fucking nothing ‘sniffed’ here yet!!!

Normal service will resume as soon as possible LOL 🙂

  88. Relax people. It’ll be ready when it’s ready. I’m sure they’re doing their best.

  89. To quote Locke: “This is a shameful fucking performance”.

Way to drop the ball HBO/GoT.

  90. The North Remembers,

I thought maybe it was because I don’t have a facebook account. Good to know that’s not the case.

    Connor,

Just watch the entire red carpet in Downward Dog, and you’ll be fine. 😉

  91. You guys are being a bit dramatic. It’s a live event, you can’t completely predict these things. The stream depends on arrivals, and those are never on time. Especially with LA traffic and the weather today.

  92. BunBunStark:
To quote Locke: “This is a shameful fucking performance”.

Way to drop the ball HBO/GoT.

The sad part is the host can’t be bothered to post an update and everyone is tweeting/instagramming her asking what’s up.

  93. Well how typical, nothing streaming, HBO still behind the curve on social technology. Should have some of the actors use their phones to film the proceedings and interview each other on the red carpet.
MTV awards are tonight, well HBO not the best scheduling, apparently LA internet streaming cannot handle two big events at the same times

  94. tyjon:
Well how typical, nothing streaming, HBO still behind the curve on social technology. Should have some of the actors use their phones to film the proceedings and interview each other on the red carpet.

    yeah, Periscope comes to mind

  95. This comment on the GOT Facebook Page is priceless:

“I know winter is coming but any chance we could get the live feed from the red carpet before then?”

  96. Ace of Mace,

Regarding Kit Harington – I thought he was performing on stage (in London?) tonight for the opening of his ‘Dr Faustus’ play?

  97. Jack Bauer 24: Whoa no Gwendoline Christie. That’s weird. Two of the Sand snakes and Areo Hotah though. Interesting.

maybe filming for Episode VIII ? (trying not to spoil myself on that so havent kept up with filming)

  98. It’s 3:30 am here I”ll just go to sleep guys. Hopefully anything important will be posted here so we South- Eastern Europeans won’t miss it. I wish Kit could attend the premiere too.

  99. What is the name of the Khal on the list? I thought the new Khal would be Khal Jaqo unless there are 2 new Khal’s ?

  100. Ace of Mace,

It’s cool to see the list. Thanks.

I was wondering if Conleth Hill would take the day off from Berkeley Rep to fly down for the premiere.

  101. Jack Bauer 24,

If this is the list with all the actors in Ep.1 isn’t it strange that Max von Sydow is not in it? Could this list be the intro list? In which case there are a lot of promotions… And yes Gwen is not there too although Daniel is… Strange indeed! Edit: I got confused and I thought this was the Ep 1 list on names which is not. It is the premiere list. Sorry!

  102. Jared,

Arya is confirmed for 601 based on the file names for the promo photos. Much to my surprise; I figured she was likely to miss another premiere due to her story not really requiring immediate followup and the amount of other stuff that seems like it does need to be in the premiere.
  103. I wonder if the live feed will ever start. Does anyone know if they have started arriving?

  104. Really getting fucking bored waiting. This is bullshit. Get your shit together, HBO.

  105. Flayed Potatoes:
Kind of embarrassing in this day and age to not have a stream ready.

IKR? I mean, I get it if they don’t have people to interview, but you would think they could have planned for that with nice filler information, trailers, pre-filmed interviews with the stars who wouldn’t be physically on location at the red carpet…

  106. dothrakian raven:
    Jack Bauer 24,

If this is the list with all the actors in Ep.1 isn’t it strange that Max von Sydow is not in it? Could this list be the intro list? In which case there are a lot of promotions…

No Ellie Kendrick, but Kristian Nairn is there. I don’t think this is the Episode 1 list because why would they have Obara and Nymeria Sand with Areo Hotah, but no Tyene, Ellaria, and Doran?

  107. They could at least post something on facebook, explaining when to expect them. We’ve spent the better part of an hour waiting already. I would give up, but I’m afraid if I do that it will start.

  108. HotPinkLipstick:
Gwendoline is in Australia filming Top of the Lake 2.

    No clue on Dormer.

Yay! I loved Top of the Lake. Christie gets roles in all of the best shows, innit? She’s my hero.

  109. Meh Khal Jhaqo looks and sounds so much cooler, especially the way Jorah pronounced it in season 2 “jee-ag-o”. Dave and Dan have totally dropped the ball and now I’m not watching.

  110. Ashley:
    Mustafa. S.,

I’m glad you liked that one! Feeling impatient and excited about the red carpet and ready to get this thing started!

Oh you’re here too, haha. It was brilliant. I would be feeling excited if I wasn’t dead tired. It’s 8:40AM here in Australia and I haven’t even slept yet, so at this point I’m just losing patience.

  111. the actors are coming in now.. Liam and John Bradly both there…you would THINK they could have feed ready for Liam since he has been doing about 90% of the press lol….

  112. yes! I saw a few people arrived but no link for a live stream yet!!!!!! Almost almost almost!

  113. Sean C.,

Thanks! I hadn’t heard about the file names on the photos until recently, so that confirmation slipped past me. Yeah, it’s a bit surprising because Arya’s storyline would seem to be one of the few that doesn’t require immediate follow-up. She might actually benefit from some time off since she’ll be begging in the streets when we first see her in Season 6, which will be a bit of a change. I’m glad to hear that Maisie will be in Episode 1, though. Her pseudo-streak of not appearing or barely appearing in season premieres was a little unfortunate, even if it made sense based on Arya’s relative isolation from other major characters.
  114. Kit Harington just had his premiere night of his stage play in London last night. That’s why he’s not on the list. It’s night 2 for that. He’s in that play through June. Even if there was no great cliffhanger for the character he plays, he was never going to make it to the event tonight. It’s not a surprise.

And no surprise that HBO dropped the ball on this. This is the same network that has had it’s country affiliates upload trailers, info, and whole episodes earlier than they were supposed to. Not to mention refused to do stand alone streaming for years until basically being forced into it by Game of Thrones piracy. HBO is top notch for entertainment, but is at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to social media and being ahead of the curve with modern technology.

  115. Can’t figure out whether they put Moon Boy or Patchface (“There’s no live stream, I know, I know, oh, oh, oh”) in charge of this.

  116. Flayed Potatoes: lmao I should have known.

That had to have been planned out since they knew everyone would be hounding her about Jon. This is supposed to be her big episode and the title is even “The Red Woman”.

  117. Mustafa. S.,

Understandable! I admire your dedication to staying awake until this point 😉 I’m in NYC so while I am not tired, I am impatient. Hopefully it works soon! And yaaaas I’m doing the cross channel thing commenting on FB and WotW. I need my GoT fix! Hahahha

  118. Jack Bauer 24: That had to have been planned out since they knew everyone would be hounding her about Jon. This is supposed to be her big episode and the title is even “The Red Woman”.

There’s no doubt about it. Unless she can’t travel because of her pregnancy (idk where she lives), HBO probably decided it’s too risky to have her attend and accidentally give something away. I’m sure Carice is slightly relived though. She must be sick of being asked about Jon all the time.

  119. Ace of Mace,

Huh. Interesting to note that on that cast list, Joe Naufahu is now listed as playing Khal Moro, not Khal Jhaqo.

When WOTW initially posted about Naufahu’s role, he was listed as playing Moro. However, his CV was later updated so that his role was listed as Jhaqo. https://watchersonthewall.com/joe-naufahus-game-of-thrones-role-revealed/

I just checked his CV again … and it’s back to Khal Moro.
    http://www.red11.co.nz/portfolio/talent/men/494674/joe-naufahu

Either plans changed, or the agency made an error somewhere. Based on how late we are in the process, I’m guessing that Moro is the character’s actual name.

  120. an hbo rep said their dial up modem is on the fritz and should be back up shortly once they can connect to AOL

  121. Maybe it’s just me but I am only getting a black screen with audio from the facebook stream.

  122. Ashley:
    Mustafa. S.,

Understandable! I admire your dedication to staying awake until this point I’m in NYC so while I am not tired, I am impatient. Hopefully it works soon! And yaaaas I’m doing the cross channel thing commenting on FB and WotW. I need my GoT fix! Hahahha

Haha, GoT “is one hell of a drug”. I was up at night working on a research paper. I need to be rewarded, my brain deserves some relaxation time and GoT is doing what it has always done best, hurt my emotions.

    I wish I lived in NYC 😛

And finally it begins…. And it just cut off after Sansa… WT actual F? lol

  123. The Waif looks smoken.

There is no way they could be an hour off on the time accidentally. They must have had to move this back for some reason.

  124. Great stream! Buffering was on point every 2 seconds!!! And when it abruptly ended, oh my god, amazing.

    10/10

  125. I guess we are supposed to spend the rest of our evenings refreshing the facebook page and watching 1-3 minute videos? Lame.

  126. Well… fuck a monkey!! I got 4 minutes worth, saw Sophie answer a question, but now its stopped streaming?

  127. Same here, live only lasted Sophie’s arrival and then it ended. Keep refreshing GOT’s facebook page and nothing. I thought this was going to be a live transmission like when that dude from True Blood presented it.

  128. The webcams along the boulevard clearly are showing the red carpet event going forward as planned, way to go Facebook and HBO, dropping the ball bigtime for all the millions of fans around the world on this one. Get your &$#? act together FB techs.
Perhaps they forgot to notify HS that they were doing a live feed streaming and were blocked by the Feds.

  129. lp:
HBO and their dial up modem gives me great hope HBO Now will run real smooth on April 24!

this is why i went ahead and got it through my tv provider. I knew HBONow would be a pain in my ass on the 24th

  130. All I saw was Sophie answering two questions.
I clicked on some watch video thing up on the right, but it told me I had to have a facebook account.

    WTF

    Fedejru,

Thanks, but I guess I don’t know how to use that. 🙁

  131. lp,

Yes because the quality of this one off Facebook stream in any way correlates to their streaming service. You are a moron.

  132. Twitch? Youtube? Livestream? All do live streaming on a daily basis. In 1080 HD. Have the technology, experience and servers to have run this smoothly and well. But no, HBO decided they’d rather drive traffic to a facebook page. Par for the course though with HBO and technology. It is not their strongest point.

    Jamal,

It was clearly sarcastic. If you think I honestly believe HBO Now uses a dial up modem than who is the moron?

  133. Okay, what is that thing that Maisie Williams is wearing? Looks like a bra made out of aluminum foil.

  134. Nymeria Warrior Queen:
All I saw was Sophie answering two questions.
I clicked on some watch video thing up on the right, but it told me I had to have a facebook account.

    WTF

    Fedejru,

Thanks, but I guess I don’t know how to use that.

Even if you have a Facebook account the stream is inaccessible right now, probably it’s down due to the sheer number of people trying to access it?

  135. Why is this on FACEBOOK again? Last year on Youtube (?) we had no problems! Seriously…. Stupid facebook.

  136. Ravyn,

Love that Princess Leia ESB hair…totally gorgeous. Wish I could see more of the dress. Love the top and the color but want to see the bottom!

  137. I feel silly for even getting excited about this. I never watch red carpet stuff, for the oscars or grammys or anything else, but I’m so starved for GoT tidbits that I was willing to tune in. I’ve been sitting at the computer for the past hour and 15 minutes clicking refresh on facebook, growing more frustrated by the second, almost ready to send in an angry tweet or email to HBO.

lol HBO has made a sucker out of me.

  138. That minute and a half with Sophie seems like it was suppose do start and end how it did. So maybe that was just an intro? Hoping. Lol

  139. Notice that on FB page it says, “Sophie Turner WAS live on the Red Carpet”. No luck with the stream. Every year it’s the same with HBO and I let myself get sucked in. Over and out

  140. Jamal,

I don’t see any reason to call him a moron for what he said. Their inability to get this right does not bode well, especially given people had problems with the services, last season.

Personally, I’m pissed. I set aside time to watch this. I pay for HBO. The fact I can’t see what I was promised, at least not without using another service, a service in which I am not interested, is complete fucking bullshit.

  141. Kamali,

I am right there with you. I am trying to watch it because I know nothing. One trailer, no reviews, and no books. HBO is kind of ruining my evening right now.

  142. Does anyone else feel so embarrassed when you’re watching them answer questions from the fans?

  143. watching fans rage on here is making up for no live stream XD
    Good times 🙂

  144. LatrineDiggerBrian:
they might as well have had ravens deliver us the bits from the stream

Well I’m a Black Raven – caw – caw 🙂 I’ll fly over to LA and report what’s going on! If nothing doing, I’ll shit on them from a great height! LOL 😀

  145. Connor:
Great stream! Buffering was on point every 2 seconds!!! And when it abruptly ended, oh my god, amazing.

    10/10

LOLOL. That cliffhanger was just amaze-balls, right?!

This live stream failure is something straight out of 2005.

  146. kells:
    Ravyn,

Love that Princess Leia ESB hair…totally gorgeous. Wish I could see more of the dress. Love the top and the color but want to see the bottom!

I thought it looked like a crown. As in a Queen’s crown. Sansa Queen of the North CONFIRMED!!!

  147. I don’t see any reason to call him a moron for what he said.Their inability to get this right does not bode well, especially given people had problems with the services, last season.

Personally, I’m pissed.I set aside time to watch this.I pay for HBO.The fact I can’t see what I was promised, at least not without using another service, a service in which I am not interested, is complete fucking bullshit.

Agreed. I’ve been trying to watch it since the time that it was supposed to start. And I don’t want snap chat and I don’t need it and I hope that they give us something to make up for it. I don’t know how they could make it right but the radio silence on FB is also making me unhappy. If you fuck up, you should own that.

  148. George,

    Thanks.

And sorry for the li’l tirade, y’all, but this sucks donkey dicks in hell.

    *deep breath*

My life must be really good if this is my biggest concern, at the moment. I should not lose sight of that.

    *deep breath*

    *kicks puppy*

(no, not really about the puppy)

  149. Nymeria Warrior Queen,

Comparing a free one off FB stream of a red carpet to a a paid streaming service that HBO relies on for millions of dollars in revenue is ludicrous. There is zero correlation beween the success of these two things.

This fandom is hysterical. I can’t think of ANY other show on television that gets criticized for EVERY single thing other than GoT.

  150. Black Raven: Well I’m a Black Raven – caw – caw I’ll fly over to LA and report what’s going on! If nothing doing, I’ll shit on them from a great height! LOL

Seriously, if the stream is 10 billion bits and there are 1 million fans, you could probably make 10 billion x 1 million trips faster then they’ll be able to get it to us (while shitting on them)

  151. Firannion:
Okay, what is that thing that Maisie Williams is wearing?Looks like a bra made out of aluminum foil.

That’s all the rage right now. Someone wore something similar at the Oscars, IIRC. I’m sure her skirt matches. What I was struck by is the faux tan: no Brit is that color.

  152. Nymeria Warrior Queen,

I’m not too upset. Seeing pictures is good enough for me (the premiere is just down the street from me and I didn’t even bother fighting the crowds to see it). It’s a little embarrassing in this day and age, though. I mean, they’re basically using the same technology that Sophie used the other day to make the announcement on her fan page, and she figured out how to do it.

  153. Jack Bauer 24:
Sophie said Sans is a “bomb ass bitch” this season.

I thought she said “Boss” rather than bomb?

I really do think the Queen in the North thing is happening this season…

    Edit: Yep, she said “boss”

  154. are some people getting it? Cause im not, they should have streamed it on Youtube, its waaay better on there.

  155. So what’s with Maisie showing up in an aluminum-foil bra? Looks like it’s made from the liner of one of those lunchboxes that are supposed to keep your food cold. Not terribly elegant.

    Hivju looks very debonair, though.

  156. Fedejru,

How are u watching it … Totally new to snap chat I’ve added HBO_SNAP but don’t know how to watch the live feed

  157. btw, Fedejru, while I don’t want to download snapchat just for this, I really do appreciate you trying to help!!!

    Thanks. 🙂

  158. I’m so happy that its up! I’m glad I managed to see Jacob Anderson!!! Love him!!!!

  159. Does anyone get the impression that the hostess didn’t remember dean charles chapman’s name? And she didn’t ask him any fan questions.

I hope we get the whole thing in the end

  160. Can someone in LA just drive over there and start filming it on Periscope on their phone?

  161. Ok it seems to work on the Facebook app but cud the find it if I was going there through safari or chrome

  162. Sansa’s Knight:
    Fedejru,

How are u watching it … Totally new to snap chat I’ve added HBO_SNAP but don’t know how to watch the live feed

    Slide Right

On Snapchat HBO_SNAP for now they’ve done Faye Marsay, John Bradley, Dean Charles Chapman, Jacob Anderson, Joseph Naufahu, Liam Cunningham, Tom Wlaschiwa and I didn’t recognize the lasto one…

  163. Michael said he filmed most of his stuff in early Summer, so he wasn’t there for the big battle! Roose dies confirmed!

  164. Again, no fan questions so far as I can tell. Sophie was the only one who answered fan questions. This is a mess.

But we are getting some info. Which is nice.

  165. Roose’s slip there that the fireplace is redone in this season.. my god. Please tell me Frey’s and those other northern houses are there..

  166. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau on season 6: “The old Jaime catches up to the new Jaime”. Says his arc ends with a callback to the first 2 seasons!

  167. On Face Book – I’m getting the stream, but the buffering is constant! Almost not worth the effort of watching it 🙁

Is this being recorded? Would better to watch it on You Tube?

  168. Sophie just reiterated that she has been waiting for this storyline for her character since season 1. Said this season is less about “Dark Sansa” and more about Sansa trying to convince people that she knows how to play the game, isn’t a dumb little girl, and is worth following.

  169. Wow, FAYE DUNAWAY is at the premiere! And looking great.

    Jack Bauer 24:
I wonder if the host was told not mention Jon at all.

I think it would extremely rude to ask the cast members just Jon Snow questions, instead of about their own characters.

  170. I will laugh so hard if Sansa meets an untimely demise in episode 1, becomes a piece of taxodermy on the ship of the new baddy that is coming buwahahaha

  171. Flayed Potatoes: RIP Roose

Roose also wasn’t there for the big battle last season. I’m guessing he high tails it back to The Dreadfort and leaves Ramsey to be slaughtered probably after Ramsey killed Roose’s wife early on in the season.

  172. LatrineDiggerBrian,

I have no sympathy for him. A few years back I agreed with Gaiman’s essay about leaving Martin alone. No longer, Im fed up with him now.

I don’t happen to mind spoilers (I have been known to read the end of a book to see what happens when I am not sure I want to finish it), but I know not to believe anything unless it comes directly from here, and I don’t want to spoil things for anyone else.

  173. ash:
    LatrineDiggerBrian,
I have no sympathy for him. A few years back I agreed with Gaiman’s essay about leaving Martin alone. No longer, Im fed up with him now.

WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE? GO WRITE THAT EPIC NOVEL WE ALL DEMAND YOU WRITE NOW!

  174. Firannion,

” I love the interpersonal dynamics and political machinations in this show way better than the boffo battle scenes, generally speaking. If anything, I worry that the final season or two will feel too rushed if they’re all just one big climactic scene building upon another, instead of having a nice rolling ebb-and-flow rhythm

    .

Same here – for me a story needs more than action from start to finish. It needs character development, character interaction, points to move the plot arc along, and this show does all of that in spades. Im not a battle scene fan but Ive actually enjoyed watching them on this show. But I value the quieter moments more.

  175. Did I hear correctly?! President Obama asked for and received advanced copies of the episodes?? 😀

OHHHH! Peter Dinklage just said it’s almost predetermined that Tyrion will meet Cersei again.

  176. LatrineDiggerBrian: Roose also wasn’t there for the big battle last season. I’m guessing he high tails it back to The Dreadfort and leaves Ramsey to be slaughtered probably after Ramsey killed Roose’s wife early on in the season.

    I wish!

  177. Jack Bauer 24,

host just might be trying to help fix things and doesn’t have time to explain himself to impatient fans. Come on folk, its not like you are going to be watching the actual premeir, ya know?

  178. Lena is lovely and funny as well. ‘I was just going to order pizza and drink some wine.’

  179. Well, I managed to see most of it to the end, but the buffering was a pain in the ass! The Facebook presenter said hang around for some more later, but here its 4am and I’m off to bye byes!

Hopefully will catch up later. No idea when the cast answers fans questions, so perhaps that will uploaded on You-Tube.

Good night all – caw -caw – flying back to my nest 😀

  180. Toby,

I have a FB account but no longer use it, and I don’t think people should be required to have one as the only means to view a premier, but it’s not a big deal to me. It’s just a few of the actors walking down a carpet. Any questions they answer will likely have already been addressed ad nauseam.

  181. wow this is good news. I love this battle between brother and sister 🙂

    Kay:
Did I hear correctly?! President Obama asked for and received advanced copies of the episodes??
