Riverrun filming delayed, sources report

Corbet 4

The Game of Thrones filming scheduled to begin tomorrow in Corbet, Northern Ireland has been delayed, according to our sources.

The castle-and-drawbridge set in the County Down town has been under construction for the last few weeks, with tents and more structures springing up. The visible trout sigil over the entryway made it apparent that this must be Riverrun, the home of House Tully. More wooden structures have been built in front of the castle facade over the last week or so.

According to our sources, filming will not begin tomorrow because there have been some objections to a very, very large structure being built. It will have to be examined by local representatives to see if it broke the rules in the original planning application. Due to this, filming can’t begin on time. The next inspection will take place possibly on Tuesday, and hopefully, filming in Corbet for Riverrun will start after that.

There was no indication whether it was the castlefront facade itself that was the issue, another large piece of the set such as the drawbridge, or something else newly built.

An unfortunate delay, but hopefully everything gets sorted out quickly! Those of you hoping to spot a few Tullys around Northern Ireland tomorrow will just have to wait a few more days.

  1. Well that’s it for the city of Corbet’s money train. As someone pointed out a few threads ago, if you aggravate the GoT team, you’re toast.

  2. No sightings there, it’s just a city near Belfast- you might get sightings IN Belfast, but then they might be filming at Titanic Studios. It’s not as easy to tell with this one as it is with a location like say, Almeria.
Anyone filming in Corbet is just going to drive over there that day.

  3. All this talk of Riverrun reminded me of something I read on TWOIAF:

After the Conqueror’s death, it did not take long before challenges to the Targaryen rule emerged. The first of these was the bandit and outlaw called Harren the Red, who claimed to be a grandson of Harren the Black. With the help of a castle servant, Harren the Red seized both harrenhal and its current ruler, the infamous Lord Gargon (remembered as Gargon the Guest for his custom of attending every wedding in his domain to exercise his right to First Night). Lord Gargon was gelded in the castle’s godswood and left to bleed to death while Red Harren proclaimed himself Lord of Harrenhal and King of the Rivers.
All this took place while the King guested at Riverrun, the seat of the Tully’s. But by the time Aenys and Lord Tully moved to deal with this threat, they found Harrenhal empty, Gargon’s loyal men put to the sword, and Harren the Red and it’s followers returned to banditry

Is Blackfish going to pull a Red Harren (who’s, by the way, one of the coolest characters ever), only switching “Gargon” for Walder Frey and “Harrenhal” for Riverrun? 🙂

  4. I live in Northern Ireland, and people roared at a beach being closed last year for Dorne scenes. They need to grow up. It’s not as if it’s permanent. It will be taken down after filming. So well done on delaying the time it gets taken down. I’d be thrilled if they built that beside me.

  5. Tywin of the Hill: Is Blackfish going to pull a Red Harren (

Sure, history may repeat itself…with BF slightly less nutty than Harren the Red, although I like the term Red Harren (red herring?), as you put it! Freys shall perish most certainly. Furthermore, like we’ve been discussing for weeks, a BF/BwB infiltration (or resistance) at RR can be quite intriguing as well as aligning (if BF/BwB escape RR via the way they infiltrate it) with the post-RR siege in AFfC. Thx for the reflection on historical relevance.

  6. No Delay:
Can this delay the Season 6 premeire if it takes too long to restructure?

Aye, but hypothetically anything can delay the premiere. I wouldn’t worry overmuch just yet.

  7. Tywin of the Hill,

They were accomplishing all this “banditry” in the age of dragons! Hence very nutty (poor choice of words?), imho. Plus, was the Red Harren even a “Harren”, as he claimed? Their actions may have been brave and rebellious in light of a weak Aenys but nothing they did prevented their eventual failure or built a larger following, which furthered the stigmatization and curse of Harrenhal. But I agree that the BF/BwB parallel is quite interesting.

  8. Seriously: Irish who got offended by gallows?

Could be! They should film in the States: capital punishment is considered a family value here!

    😀

Jeff O’Connor: Aye, but hypothetically anything can delay the premiere. I wouldn’t worry overmuch just yet.

That seems implausible. There would be a number of ways to get around it, including CGI and funny camera perspectives. They would be more cumbersome, expensive and probably not look as good: but, then, they always are going to go for the best option first!

  9. No Delay,

Lol,are you the same guy from westeros.org who used to get so worried last season that it’s going to get delayed ? Seriously, why are you doing this to yourself ? I remember that you used to have a Jon Snow avatar there as well so that’s how i made the connection, although i can’t remember what username you had .

  10. Jeff O’Connor: delay the premiere

It’s not like all the episodes need to be complete by the premiere date either. It’s not Netflix. S4 had some infamous delays/reshoots/CGI integration/rebudgeting for ep10 (Alex Graves) that didn’t get completed until a few weeks before air date.

A good scheduler always incorporates buffer time into each phase of a schedule to account for rework and the unexpected.

  11. So I’m guessing they had license to build, but the city freaked out when it saw they built a functional trebuchet?

  12. No Delay:
Can this delay the Season 6 premeire if it takes too long to restructure?

No. Waiting for TWoW is what will delay the Season 6 premiere 😉

  13. Black Aly: Michelle Fairley lives in Belfast.

To be precise, she lived there in the past and went to college here. I don’t know if she still lives here. But she could still visit it because it was her hometown.

  14. Delay probably caused by uptight locals who haven’t liked their pristine pastoral landscape affected for weeks; I have to admit that gate facade and blue screens are frakin huge, even DeMille would be envious. I can’t imagine they would force some change, probably a fine, although some stuff shirt might still cause difficulties, requesting some type of court injunction.
Strange all this happened just when filming was about to begin.

  15. No Delay:
Can this delay the Season 6 premeire if it takes too long to restructure?

I don’t think so. I think you’re worrying too much.

  16. Just Google Earthed this area near Corbet, NI, the terrain looks like the area in question, the cleared land near that DPT structure could be for the set, and the area across the River Bann appears to be where the tents are set up, next to the sloped tree line. Perhaps the land is owned by DPT who helped get the permit pulled, and with the massive size of the set, it can be seen for quite some distance by all the farm steads and hamlets in the area. Rural types don’t appreciate their landscape interfered with, how long has it been now, 5-6 weeks, more than enough time for the kettle to build up pressure with the locals. That bridge nearby is in the right location per the leaked images.

  17. Gudvon,

Well it seems an overreaction for a temporary structure. I know how they feel about the view going [though they will get their view back eventually] because 600 houses are being built on previously virgin soil near where I live (the house where I live used to back on to a field – which was built on years ago). Then they built another estate down the road about 13 years ago and now some more or going up. And it’s happening all over the UK which is overcrowded (but that’s off-topic). It could just be one person being awkward about the Corbet temporary structure. It wouldn’t be the first time something has been constructed for a TV programme (maybe it is in Corbet) though but mostly the ones I have seen have been for documentaries. I can’t remember what it was called but there was something where they reconstructed a medieval type crane that would have been needed to help built the cathedrals of the time.

  18. lalla,

It is perspective. They are reeeeeeally far away. Look for other pictures, from previous WOTW reports on Corbet. You will see where the tents are.

  19. Matt,

So many clones these days. First a Abyss clone (who was a purist/troll), and now this.

Why can’t people take 2 mins, to check the comment of a previous thread, and see if the name they want to pick is already used by someone or it’s free.

On-Topic: Still not convinced this is the siege from AFFC. I’m at about 50% that it’s that siege. Still allot more then couple of months ago. And if it is that siege, I highly expect that we will see more of the aftermat then we did in AFFC.

  20. It’s not an overreaction if it indeed they are breaking the rules.
It’s not an overreaction even if they are not really breaking the rules, just bending them a bit.
If they’re not breaking any rule, but it may look like they are, it’s right to check first anyway.
In my old neigbourhood they were often shooting tv commercials or scenes for tv shows, and they were always trying to do that: stretching shooting hours, closing one more street, bringing in more props, etc., as if they weren’t annoying enough within their boundaries. The bigger they were, the bolder.

  21. That bluescreen is huge!!
Producers of GOT: Next time I’ll do some rotoscoping for you for free. No need to build such massive bluescreens and get into trouble 😀

  22. It could easily be a safety issue, not just “rural types” complaining about the view. If they altered the original scope of the project, they may not have altered other aspects to compensate, thus causing a safety issue. Especially with a temporary structure that will be used with lots of people and damn unpredictable horses. A 1 day delay shouldn’t throw the schedule off that much.

  23. tyjon: this area near Corbet, NI

Interesting scouting. I just zoomed out one bit and notice a “TV and film studio” right behind (north) of the cleared area you suggest for Riverrun… For ease of borrowing local equipment? Though I assume that’s not needed that close to their Belfast base.

  24. Wimsey:

That seems implausible. There would be a number of ways to get around it, including CGI and funny camera perspectives. They would be more cumbersome, expensive and probably not look as good: but, then, they always are going to go for the best option first!

Eh, yeah, fair enough. I didn’t mean to echo-chamber the probably-over-the-top reaction that this could delay S6; moreover, what I mean is that anything can happen, but any one thing is fairly unlikely to be the catalyst. And hell, at this point if there’s need for a delay for any particular reason, it’s not like we’ll necessarily ever even know it was officially a delay! “Season 6 premiere: April 30th, 2016” is a bit later than usual, for example, but if we’ve never been informed otherwise then it’ll seem like just that… a bit later than usual.

I don’t know, it’s early and I’ve not had coffee. I’m talking in circles.

  25. Good spot- I’d say that’s definitely the area in question. The Google Earth tags are incorrect though- the buildings marked DPD are actually the Linen Mills studios so I assume the land is part of that property. Sounds as though the Banbridge council planning dept. are just a bit nervous about the sheer size of the set, considering its proximity to roads etc and the blustery autumn weather.

I really hope it doesn’t get pulled down or modified though- the officials surely need to realise just how much GOT has injected into the local economy through tourism…

  26. Mihnea: Why can’t people take 2 mins, to check the comment of a previous thread, and see if the name they want to pick is already used by someone or it’s free.

Famous fictional detectives that remain available include Dupin, Holmes, Campion, Marple, Poirot, Morse, Wolfe and Queen!

  27. Darkstar: It’s sarcasm.

I can see the red carpet premier now!

“And another little old lady is coming up on a walker… I think that used to be Maise Williams… Well, at least her depends are not as obvious as they were on Turner!”

  28. Mihnea: And if it is that siege, I highly expect that we will see more of the aftermat then we did in AFFC.

Agreed. With Arya in the Riverlands and the rest of the storylines deep into TWOW, I can’t imagine the plotline in Riverrun won’t go further than AFFC/ADWD. Jaime may personally end up basically where he did in ADWD (meeting Brienne, hopefully!), but I expect TWOW stuff to happen in Riverrun by the end. Personally, I’m a big believer in the theory that we’ll see a Red Wedding 2.0, except this time the Freys will be the victims. That’d be great finale material!

  29. Imagine if whoever originally gave this project the green light now says it’s a no-go bc they didn’t expect the set to be on the scale that it is. The 2nd paragraph in the post suggests just that. I’m wondering how this is an issue to begin with. Someone is obviously BSing. Either the GoT staff minimized how physically big this set would be, or the officials of the land are jerking around the GoT staff. I have to say what they’ve built so far looks awesome and I bet it’s gonna translate into something epic onscreen.

  30. JCDavis,

Fyi, I had no idea, so I googled “Canadian thanksgiving” and the very 1st hit came back with a Canadian author with the title of their article stating, “Today is Canadian Thanksgiving, and, yes, it’s pretty much a rip-off of American Thanksgiving”…doh!

  31. Afeastfordances: they built a functional trebuchet?

Lol! Maybe it failed the local WMD laws for non-government, private use?

I’m sure this is something that a sizable check from HBO made out to the local “widows and orphans” fund could fix. 🙂

  32. God of tits and wine,

Except that they celebrate it closer to when the original would have been done! US Thanksgiving was never set at a particular date until the 1930’s, when FDR’s administration thought that putting it at the end of November would cue the XMas season and spur holiday sales. (FDR’s people tried anything and everything to get the country out of recession!)

  33. Was just reading online about how Cinemax is releasing a new show based on GRRMs “skin trade”. Supposed to be about werewolves. All u gotta do is utter the letters GRRM and my ears perk up

  34. Apollo,

I don’t believe the tags are wrong the buildings marked at the North of the site are used as a DPD depot, they are however on the same site as the Linen Mill Studios.

The land Riverrun has been built on is indeed part of the Linen Mill Studios – its built on the bit of land that Harrenhal was built on in Season 2/3 and is directly next to the GOT green screen ship.

  35. Wimsey,

Cool fun fact!…. FDR was the POTUS that delivered a speech with fresh lead injected in him right? They don’t build them like they used to….. Murica, F yeah!

  36. God of tits and wine:

Actually, I believe Cinemax ordered a pilot script. From there, it might not even be filmed. And if it is filmed, they may or may not pick it up.

  37. Hodor’s Bastard,

Hey HB, I don’t know if you saw this low on a prior thread, but thanks for the Alt-Shift link. I think that the guy is on the right track: in some ways, more so than I think that I was! (I had not considered the possibility that there was an actual agreement of sorts in place.)

However, I would love to hear him address one thing: where does R’hllor fit into this scheme?

  38. God of tits and wine,

Do you know, that sounds familiar. Of course, they did all sorts of things to hide the fact that he could not walk, including injecting his legs with dubious substances that they thought would better prop him behind podia when he addressed the press. (I remember that my grandfather did not learn of this until years later, and he thought that it was what we would now call Fox-News!) However, I had forgotten (if I ever knew) that lead was one of them.

But FDR was a very creative thinker who very much set the stage for the modern American liberal. (I.e., those who don’t say “Murica!”)

  39. Dan,

The land Riverrun has been built on is indeed part of the Linen Mill Studios – its built on the bit of land that Harrenhal was built on in Season 2/3 and is directly next to the GOT green screen ship.

Thanks for that link, and your explanation says everything, the locals probably thought the RR set would be similar in size, not as Gargantuan as it became. Though since that location has been utilized as sets before, the locals are no virgins to set construction in their backyards and if none filed complaints for the Harrenhall set, to bad.

  40. Wimsey,

Yes, I saw it and was quite intrigued by your supplementary R’hllor feedback. That could be the basis for an excellent discussion! Furthermore, we need to know more about the relationship between the old gods and the red god.

Lots of great theories floating around the ether these days.

    Happy whoever-the-hell-discovered-America-because-it-sure-as-hell-wasn’t-Columbus Day!

  41. Balerion The Cat,

Those actually look the same as the ones we saw the other day, just new angles. Even the Mountain’s makeup is the same. But the tour bus, the costuming, all the same people- everything’s exactly the same. Wondering if the Dubrovnik Times just got a hold of a new batch of pics.

  42. This makes me sad. I was hoping for some spy footage of the Riverrun scenes. I am praying for the Blackfish.

  43. Hodor’s Bastard: Furthermore, we need to know more about the relationship between the old gods and the red god.

Indeed! Interestingly, Mel does not seem to recognize them as a distinct entity: she thinks that they are just demons in league with the Others. Clearly the Tree Gods are not: and they probably will not take kindly to their weirwoods being burned! That might suggest that R’hllor is really a Black and White god: with me, or against me.

The “flaming sword” of old does suggest that it (R’hllor) might have had a role in War of Dawn I. But if there was a truce, then it probably did not get what it wanted. (The Truce idea is so very clever, and it simplifies a few things: I am smacking myself for not thinking of it on my own; bud, oddly, I don’t recall reading it elsewhere.)

And how do dragons fit in to all of this? That’s wide open.

  44. Wimsey: And how do dragons fit in to all of this?

The oddest thing regarding these Long Night resolution theories is that dragons played no part at all in them. The only info the maesters have selected to tell (via TWoI&F) is that AA, in desperation, went to the CotF and an “intercession” happened. I presume they provided some nifty tools and strategies (obsidian, dragonfire, etc) for the first men to use. But how the Battle for the Dawn actually ended is shrouded in deep mystery. Hopefully, that and other fun anecdotes regarding the NK, CotF, CH and the weirnet will be uncovered by Bran and Sam soon!

  45. Wimsey,

Which makes me think that one way to have a “debate” btwn The red god and the old gods is to have them confront each other in a concrete manner, for instance through Jon’s resurrection. Why wouldn’t the old gods intervene too (through bran and/or children if the forest)? We keep mentioning Mel when it comes to Jons resurrection but we forget that the three eyed raven (+Bran) are watching too. Why wouldn’t they act ?

  46. Pigeon,

Happy T day! One of my favorite museums we ever saw was in Ottawa The Canadian Museum of History. Gave me a very different perspective of your history at about the same time. Edited because it was forever ago and am having trouble remember basic facts, but I did love it. Anyway, enjoy your celebration!

  47. tyjon,

I wish more Google Earth photos were taken in late afternoon like that. So many interesting things to see on the ground.

  48. Hey gang. I’ve got a Geek Dream in progress, and it’s hit an unexpected speedbump.
The details can be found at the gofundme site, but long story short:

My band has a terrific opportunity, but we just found out the backer isn’t paying to get our gear there. Time is running short, so here I am, beggin’ like Blind Beth herself.

    https://www.gofundme.com/HopeDiamondHelp

Have a look, have a listen, help if you can. Thanks.

  49. Hodor’s Bastard: Hopefully, that and other fun anecdotes regarding the NK, CotF, CH and the weirnet will be uncovered by Bran and Sam soon!

Possibly. However, if the Weirnet held them, then shouldn’t the Children know these things already? And if they know this already, then why not simply tell Bran (and us)?

My thought is that it’s got to be something that happened out-of-sight of the Weirwoods.

But you are very right: the lack of dragons explicitly tied to all of this is odd. Of course, there is no indication that Valyria was involved: and maybe that is why. Now, the return of dragons has amped up the magic in the world: but it’s not 100% clear that it’s had any effect on the R’hllorites.

My bet is that there is a solution similar to “there was a truce” that’s hidden in plain sight in front of us.

    Ow. I just pulled a frontal lobe….

Hariette Tuttle: Which makes me think that one way to have a “debate” btwn The red god and the old gods is to have them confront each other in a concrete manner, for instance through Jon’s resurrection. Why wouldn’t the old gods intervene too (through bran and/or children if the forest)?

But do the TreeGods have any power like this? It seems that their power really is to transmit mental images through the trees, and to basically treat the Weirwoods as a “cloud” storing the memories of the human/tree symbionts watching the world go round and round. I think that the books suggest that the Children had magical powers that helped raise the Wall: but the conjecture by Alt+Shift suggests that the Wall actually was made by the Others. We’ve seen some magical power by the Children (they can shield their cave from wights): but nothing on the order of what Mel and the other R’hllorites can do.

The other problem might stem from the Red Church not accepting that they might have allies: anyone not with them is an agent of the Great Other in their theology. I do expect that we’ll learn exactly what the Children think of R’hllor next book: that might wind up being very telling.

  50. KG,

Whoa. Your music makes me want to whack my neighbors. I’m gonna do it, I swear…one more whiny bark from that ratdog…by faith and fire, I’m gonna do it.

In any case, I’ll be your minor philanthropist. Rock on, dudette. Nice riffs, btw. 😉

  51. Wimsey: My thought is that it’s got to be something that happened out-of-sight of the Weirwoods.

Well, given the weirnet, greensight, warging, firesight and maester misdirections, I’m sure the truth is stored on a blooddrive somewhere.

  52. Hariette Tuttle,

I suggested a week or so ago Bloodraven gives his life for Jon.

It stems in large part from the descriptions of Ghost as a heart tree. Couldn’t Bloodraven go into Ghost, and through Ghost give Jon his life, sacrificing his own? It also gives a good reason for why Bloodraven needed Bran, so Bran could take up Bloodraven’s work.
  53. Hariette Tuttle:

Its possible, but I think there’s more of a precedent for Melisandre giving Jon a kiss of life,

because Thoros of Myr has resurrected Beric Dondarrion several times and Beric resurrected LSH. It seems like there’s a bigger precedent of Red God practitioners successfully resurrecting people.
  54. Queen of the Keys:
    K Noelle,

Exactly! The Blackfish Watch is not going as well as the Hair Watch, not at all ):
    #BlackfishComeBack2k16

I hope that Clive Russell is just a master of disguise and he will indeed be reprising his role. Same with Tobias Menzies. I’ll be sad if there’s no Blackfish or Edmure.

  55. Nymeria Warrior Queen:
    Hariette Tuttle,

I suggested a week or so ago Bloodraven gives his life for Jon.

That seems a lot more complicated than

Mel just giving Jon the kiss of life. How would they portray Bloodraven entering Ghost then sacrificing himself on the show? I think Mel sacrificing herself is simple and elegant. Plus it would give meaner to her visions in the show of seeing herself on the battlements of Winterfell and meeting Arya again. She’s seeing that through Jon’s eyes after her spirit enters his. Plus I think Mel has outlived her usefulness. Giving her life for Jon’s will give her a meaningful end. Bloodraven, on the other hand, is a relatively new character with a lot of mentoring to do and may even become an antagonist, so I have a feeling he’s not going to sacrifice himself for Jon so early on. It’s a cool theory, though.
  56. Nymeria Warrior Queen,

Not really sure if BR has the power of resuscitation/resurrection without a red priest nearby. Or if his beliefs enable it. Are you suggesting that Mel would be encouraged to help BR help Jon or will BR go it alone? I’ve always wondered which one of the three dragonheads BR would support…they (J, D, and A) are all basically his great-grand-niece-and-nephews.

But I really like BR being involved with Jon somehow, for better or worse. Between BR, Benjen and HR…they hold the key for so much amazing revelations in ASoI&F.

  57. Nymeria Warrior Queen,

I trully think Mell will bring him back, simply because they bothered to make sure that she knows of Thoros bringing people back.

Sometimes the most simple answer is the right one.
In my opinion it would be pointless to go with all the trouble of getting him back with some complicated plan, when you have Mell there who knows that R’hllor can bring people back to life.

  58. Hodor’s Bastard: Lol!Maybe it failed the local WMD laws for non-government, private use?

I’m sure this is something that a sizable check from HBO made out to the local “widows and orphans” fund could fix.

    Dany’s catapults were functional…

  59. KG,

Northern Ireland has been extremely generous to GoT especially with the Tax Breaks.
A few concerns from the locals will not jeopardize that relationship.

  60. K Noelle,

What will be interesting to learn is just what the TreeGods can do. Is it just a vast memory storage? If so, then obviously that can have a lot of uses. (And on reflection of HB’s idea, maybe they do have memories of the agreements between the Others and humanity, or perhaps they have the information, but nobody has put the facts together properly; and, of course, maybe the Children do know, but they would rather that the truth be forgotten!)

To a degree, we are operating on negative evidence: we simply have not seen the Tree Gods given much actual opportunity to do anything. I suppose that I will be surprised if they, too, can raise the dead: their power seems based on warging and “sight” using Weirwoods to hugely enhance that power, and to allow the humanoid symbiont to retain him/herself for decades instead of rapidly fading into beasts or trees.

But I really would like to know if they have a past with the Red Church, too.

  61. K Noelle,

It’s a good theory and it makes sense in a way. Walking around battlements of Winterfell and meeting Arya. Although it would kinda go against my theory because Jon and Arya will never meet again. Nobody confirms it about big female character dying in the season premiere. Interesting option. Jon if R+L=J is right you need R’hllor and Old Gods or might be BR with Bran doing something about it for it and not just Mel as servant of R’hllor. Jon is not only Fire guy.
  62. I have always assumed that there are no actual Gods pulling the strings. There are individuals with certain spiritual powers for sure – but I think those individuals are ascribing those powers to higher deities and are therefore the founders and authors of the various religions (in the same way we have been IMHO).

Either way, I don’t think we’ll get a definitive answer.

  63. SlayerNina: Dany’s catapults were functional…

Hah! I wish. It would be great to see a 40ft functional trebuchet (one of the Six Sisters or Three Whores) that could be used to fling 1 ton stones or a flock of diseased corpses during a filmed siege…instead, I have only seen catapults suitable for pumpkin tossing. :/

Furthermore, why are trebuchets always female?

  64. A complaint? Really? Give me a break. The show is making them a ton of money I’m sure, along with hotel, restaurant and other shops getting a big boost, and tourism when people go to look at locations and they complain about a built structure that will be torn down afterwards? Silly silly people!

  65. Hodor’s Bastard: Furthermore, why are trebuchets always female?

Um… wow, why would that be? There is nothing very feminine about them. Perhaps the lobbing of stones is viewed as birthing?

OK, back to the Weirnet and what information is there. (Sorry, cannot help myself!) Here is, I think, a resolution to your idea and my concerns with it: what is the Children’s angle? They do not always get along with humans, although they did side with Humans against the Walkers.

So, is this the out: the Children did not like the agreement between the First Men and the Others? So, they are not advertising it? Alternatively, the agreement has subsequently worked out poorly for the Children due to circumstances unforeseeable 1000s of years ago. That leaves them in the same position.

Because they are vaguely “elvish,” we might be seeing them as good guys: but like everyone else, they are just “guys” (and “gals” to keep the lingo even). They want to survive and thrive just like everyone else, but between the Humans, the Others and goodness knows what else, that has gotten to be difficult.

  66. No Delay:
Almost 6pm over there. What’s the deal with the inspection?

The article states that today would be the earliest that an inspection would occur. Therefore, it may not occur today.
