Kit Harington stops by the Tonight Show for charades and stories

Kit Harington appeared on last night’s episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, playing a game with other guests and chatting about superstitions and keeping the secret of Jon’s death/rebirth. Now that Jon Snow’s resurrection is out of the bag, Harington can speak freely about what it was like keeping the secret all this time. He does admit to letting a few close family members in on it though…and a random policeman.


Kit has a somewhat odd superstition that he shares with viewers. So that’s a fun visual for us all.

He also joined Jimmy and fellow guests Rose Byrne and Blake Shelton for a friendly and very funny game of Charades.

    5’8 is not average height, but even me being 6’0 Blake Shelton would make me look tiny.

    I Googled him for you. He’s 6’5″, which is really freaking tall. If you want him, you should start a successful singing career because his second marriage was to Miranda Lambert and he’s currently with Gwen Stefani. I would never have pictured Gwen with a country music singer.

    Yep, Blake’s huge, and I don’t think 5’7-8 is tiny, but Kit rips into himself for being “short”. He’s joked about being mistaken for a hobbit from LoTR, and how he was confused about why so many of the actors/extras at Castle Black were short – until he realised it was because D&D wanted *him* to look tall. I remember during “hairwatch” there were pictures of him at Wimbledon with his brother, who is well over 6 ft. If I know siblings, he’s probably been taking shit for his height for years 😉

    P.S. The woman you’re referring to is an awesome Australian actress, Rose Byrne. Quite delightful and a better charades player than Kit, it seems!

    well Iwan Rheon who plays Ramsey is around the same height as Kit and it wasnt a problem. And Brienne and Sansa have always been some of the tallest characters on the show they tower over almost everyone lol.

    I am Italian, and I can confirm that there are indeed a few superstitions for when you hear an ambulance and see it coming. Some people touch, indeed, their private parts, others touch something made of metal, others have their own favourite good-luck charms. This does not mean everybody in Italy follows those superstitions, of course, but there are still many people following them! It is funny to know Kit learned of it! I would be curious to know how he picked it up!

    There are a few edits in that scene, so we didn’t see Melisandre cut all of it, but the implication is that she did. Kit himself must have had a proper cut, and hasn’t touched it since. This would be consistent in the show verse, where no one (except Bran!) has time for personal grooming. On average, hair grows about 10-16cm (4-6 inches) per year I think? It must be about 9 months since he filmed that scene, so his current length isn’t out of the ordinary. I know it looks like a lot, but that much growth on a guy with wild curly hair is pretty noticeable.

    Another Italian here, and yes, some people…well, tbp male people, use to touch their Dornish parts in a variety of ‘ill omened’ situations ranging from any reference to death to a black cat crossing their path. Kinda deep rooted apotropaic tradition lol

    It would be wonderful if GOT was the start for the next generation’s theatrical power couple. Seriously, they look good together, they act very well together, and I suspect they’re probably pretty decent people. I could see them doing some serious Shakespeare or Noel Coward and doing stage productions that would have Broadway and London stage producers swoon at the prospect of serious box office, as in really, serious serious box office.

    That line was almost lost because Jimmy Fallon has a habit of not letting his guests talk. I like Fallon, he’s a talented guy, and everyone knows it. He doesn’t have to keep proving it by hogging the limelight. Let your guests talk, dude, you have lots of other chances on the show. People tune in to see your guests, too. Let them shine.

    In the meantime, Kit was absolutely adorable, both personality-wise and looks-wise. His hair is fine, long or short. They had to slick it back for this appearance; you wouldn’t want him fussing with stray hair in his face like some giddy girl. would you? There’s just something about the way he speaks that makes everything that comes from his mouth sound especially endearing or important or worthy, as the case may be.

    Everyone was ecstatic to see him open his eyes and take those breaths. I guess the question as to whether or not people would care if Jon Snow died has been answered for you, eh Kit? Carry on, Lord Commander. The world is better with you in it. Stay wise and grounded and do well with our blessings.

    Oh don’t get me wrong, I think the boy’s gorgeous! And that he seems like a genuinely decent guy only makes him even more swoon-worthy. It’s just, well, I do like the fussy, fly-away hair. I don’t know why, because I also love the man bun, and the fake short hair look he had in the Jimmy Choo ads – I thought that really suited him. All a bit of a contradiction, really, but such are the fickle ways of personal taste. I didn’t mean to come across as hypercritical! Bad fangirl, bad.

    Yeah, I find him irritatingly enthusiastic, like a lot of of US Talk show hosts. I guess in Australia (where I’m at) that kind of over-the-top eagerness is considered rather cheesy, haha. The interviews with the guests are usually O.K. though, and his music parodies *are* great (though that’s thanks the guests usually, not Jimmy himself)…
    Now, back to hibernating ’til the next episode!

    Im wondering how many ppl the policeman told? I mean he wasn’t under any contract to keep it a secret.. Im sure he wasn’t blabbing his mouth to every Tom, Dick and Harry but Im sure he must have told a few peeps?     I don’t watch Fallon but tuned in for Kit and don’t really care for Jimmy’s style either. My husband watched Leno all the time and when it changed over to Fallon I caught an episode or two and thought he’s too hyper, try-hard and immature, but I’m sure he’s a nice guy and all.

    I was wondering whether it’s a true story, it’s too funny. On the other hand, sometimes life gives us some moments which, put in a book or a film, would sound totally fake.
    Anyway, fun interview and Kit is adorable, I’d like to see him in a comedy although he is not interested in them.

    We also scratch our privates when we see a hearse or a black cat crossing the road… 😀
    It’s just a superstitious gesture you learn when you’re a child and you keep doing it even if you don’t believe in such things… It just becomes a habit. 🙂

    It’s the equivalent of “knocking on wood”. In Italy, we touch iron or we touch our balls – at least those who can do it; Varys and the Unsullied would just touch iron… 😀
