Emilia Clarke talks about swearing in Valyrian; Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner chat about growing up on GoT

GrumpyDany

Emilia Clarke chats about her favorite Valyrian and Dothraki phrases, while Maisie Williams admits that being a teenager while starring in Game of Thrones wasn’t always easy. Sophie Turner visits with WSJ Cafe and GQ this week, as we near the season 6 premiere.

In part 2 of her interview with Entertainment Weekly (you can read our coverage of part 1 here) Emilia Clarke discussed her handle on Game of Thrones‘ fictional languages. Though her character speaks Dothraki fluently, Clarke can’t say the same of herself.

“Dothraki is this weird thing as it goes into your brain for as long as you need it to and then [whisper noise] – it disappears, gone … I was doing this scene with Joe Naufahu and the camera is on him. So my brain goes, ‘We don’t need Dothraki anymore because [the camera] isn’t on me, it’s not on my face, so you can just forget it.’ But annoyingly, I still need to speak even though it’s his close-up. So I found myself making it up and the hilarity that ensued was ridiculous. I looked at him dead in the eye said: ”All-la-tat-tat-tat-TAT-TAT!”

Though she said she doesn’t use Dothraki terminology in her daily life, she does find one Valyrian word to be a handy replacement for expletives: Dracarys. “You’re just like, ‘Dracarys’ and it makes you feel better and the other person has no idea what you’re doing. But in your mind, you’re setting them on fire. So there’s something beautiful about that,” she said.

Maisie Williams spoke to The Guardian about what it was like transitioning from childhood to young adulthood while starring in a hit TV show. Though it certainly had its upsides, she found media scrutiny frustrating to deal with.

“When I came into this industry, I was just a regular girl,” she said. “Now I know people can twist what you say. That’s really tough … It’s not something that really bothers me now … [but] for a long time [it did], particularly when I was 16 and people online were saying, ‘You can’t dress like that, you’re 12’ … So to have that and then everything else from being on the show was mind-blowing.”

Sophie Turner appeared on the WSJ Cafe and discussed her own experience growing up on a television set. She talked about “having a ball” auditioning to play Sansa age 13, the sense of camaraderie amongst the cast members and the blessing of not growing up with stereotypical showbiz parents.

While working on her GQ photo shoot, Turner took the time to play GoT trivia, identifying real vs. fake characters:

For Variety, Emilia Clarke fields fan questions from Twitter, talking about what Dany is up to in season 6 and who she’d love to see back on Game of Thrones.

  1. Love these ladies! They’re all
    Awesome

OT: someone at my dojo told me what I think is a filming spoiler. I was so mad!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I LOVE the Emilia Variety Q&A video! And great to know S6 Daenerys is quite different from Past Daenerys! No more Meereen Daenerys, please!

  3. Deesensfan,

By now, it’s probably gaining traction. Apparently, someone dun goofed in a Canadian (?) cable network, which allowed viewers subscribed to On-Demand Services to see the episode in its entirety. Though, I have to say, some of the descriptions sound wacky, so there’s a good chance that it’s incorrect. Avoid looser GoT sites like the plague.

  4. Hawk,

    Hmmm never heard of that
I am in Canada didn’t know!
    I agree!

Well she told me a filming spoiler. So annoying

  5. I loved Emilia’s answer to what’s different between Dany from S6 and Dany from past seasons, from the Variety video. This time she’ll just follow her instinct. Should be interesting to see what she’ll do when she doesn’t have any advisors. Also no more Meereen BS and compromising with those who just want to depose her.

  6. Heh, Sophie scored 100% in the GoT trivia. This is the second such game where she’s demonstrated her exceptional knowledge of GoT. I love that because most of the actors, at least from what I’ve seen, don’t know much of that universe outside of their own immediate storyline. Kudos, Sophie!

I may take a page out of Emilia’s book and say “Dracarys” when someone pisses me off. About 99% of the people in my life would have no idea what I mean anyway.

Which is weird because Beinoff and Weiss said they were being more careful with when they were releasing stuff to international partners.

  8. Jack Bauer 24: Which is weird because Beinoff and Weiss said they were being more careful with when they were releasing stuff to international partners.

They have to get things to international distributors with some time in advance. Otherwise, the opposite screwups will happen: distributors do not get the show in time. That would be much more damaging for HBO than occasional leaks.

  9. Right, let’s try that again with all the links in……There’s also a brief Richard Madden (Robb Stark) interview in the Guardian today. He’s taking about his new film Bastille Day and says a little about GoT, acting in general and his family/background. Best bit for me is where he said he had to keep up his (fake) American accent between takes on set because his natural Scottish one is so strong no-one could understand it 🙂 He was also on the Graham Norton chat show yesterday (haven’t watched it yet). There is a full length version of the show but it can’t be viewed in the UK for copyright reasons even though it’s a UK show 🙁

  10. I forgot to post earlier, that Sophie GQ video has a companion video which is less GOT-related, but very fun regardless:

  11. Does anyone else still have to keep deleting their history to view the latest posts? I have to do it every single time or else I don’t see updates.

  12. El-Bobbie,

For the last week when I was going to the home page the most recent update was from 4/16. I just updated Chrome and I don’t seem to be having that problem anymore.

  13. Lulus Mum,

So freaking hilarious! I love Graham Norton. And Joan Collins completely reminds me of my aunt: posh, eccentric, flamboyant, self-absorbed but adorable. Aunt Rubye says that there is this saying, but mostly it is she who says it, that “everybody who’s anybody knows Rubye.” I can see Dame Joan saying exactly the same thing of herself.

  14. Sean C.,

She seems rather sketchy in her Jean Grey needs archery bit. Will we see Sansa shoot some arrows? Clash of the Gingers. No, wait, gingers should stick together. Revenge of the Gingers.

  15. Hmmm – noticed that Dany didn’t ‘have’ to choose to bring back her very close friend Kit Harington when asked to name a character that had been killed off that she would like to have back on the screen.

  16. hexonx:
Man, that’s not a very flattering picture of Emilia.Looks like she has bitter beer face.

It is. It’s a regular feature on certain types of posts on other sites. 😉 It’s from the episode where Daenerys takes Meereen, so when I saw it used for this article, I thought that the Valyrian word in question was from that episode. Interestingly, that’s not the case. Also, the article from EW has a different picture.

The Mummers' Dragon: noticed that Dany didn’t ‘have’ to choose to bring back her very close friend Kit Harington when asked to name a character that had been killed off that she would like to have back on the screen.

Wouldn’t it be natural for her to name actors who shared scenes with her in the show? I thought it very sweet she mentioned Harry Lloyd. I wish he had played a different, longer role!

  17. El-Bobbie,

It’s still happening to me even though I’ve cleared and updated. I let the page load and then hit refresh and everything updates

  18. The reloading thing is affecting the countdown clock and story feed, too, at least for me; if I just open the site, the clock is set to the last time I closed the site and no new stories are posted. Then reloading sets the clock correctly and populates any new stories.

So there’s something funky with how the live site tells the browser cache that there’s a new version. I think. That’s about as far as my IT knowledge goes.

The fun part is how I noticed for the first time. About a week ago I just knew the day count on the countdown clock was wrong. I’m not one to do math quickly, and it took a good little break to work out that, yeah, I was right. So apparently I have an exact internal countdown clock.

No idea how I’m supposed to sleep tonight.

  19. Lulus Mum,

Thank you for the links! Richard Madden is adorable.

The NFL put out a mock draft using GOT characters and it’s pretty delightful. Ex:

    No. 1 — Jon Snow — Rams
The ultimate risk/reward pick. Best case scenario: He’s the savior of the seven kingdoms. Worst case: He’s dead.

    http://www.nfl.com/photoessays/0ap3000000654646/season-6-game-of-thrones-mock-draft

Sports Illustrated did one of their own:

    Brienne of Tarth, TE

Strong, loyal to a fault and determined. Oh, and just ask The Hound what she can do in the open field. A little worried about the lack of awareness she displayed toward the end of last season (Sansa lit the candle!!), but we’ll work on it.

    http://www.si.com/nfl/2016/04/22/game-of-thrones-season-6-nfl-mock-draft#

    Happy Sunday everyone!

  20. Her acting is better when she speaks all those made up languages. It’s weird.

Sophie looks beautiful in that GQ clip.

  21. Re: problems seeing posts

When I first visit the site, I don’t see new stuff but it works after refreshing the page once (I use Chrome).

  22. Dragonmcmx,

Same here! For a whole week I have had problems and not even chrome incognito works as it should be. I have to refresh it all the time! I mean of all the time it had to be the packed, thrilling final week…

  23. Ever since they did the site maintenance here, the clock stopped working and you have to reload the page to get the newest version. I have to reload the page even after navigating from the bookmark. Safari.

Edit: well, now my clock is working again…

  24. I have tried everything and still always have to reload my page to see updates or else i see the last reload I did

On another note, I am sooooooo ready for tonight

  25. Since iam in my phone I can’t see the clock

So just to make sure its 9 PM PST right or it is EST

  26. The Mummers' Dragon:
Hmmm – noticed that Dany didn’t ‘have’ to choose to bring back her very close friend Kit Harington when asked to name a character that had been killed off that she would like to have back on the screen.

    I noticed that, too!

    HotPinkLipstick,

Yep. We’re generally fucked all around. The problem seems to be getting better for me. Or maybe I’m growing used to it. The incognito window works when I first open it, but I had to keep opening it. Apparently it does keep some things.

  27. dragonbringer:
Since iam in my phone I can’t see the clock

So just to make sure its 9 PM PST right or it is EST

It’s the same time it always is, DB. 9 PM EST, 8 PM CST, and I guess 6 PM PST – if they play simultaneously, at least.

  28. Ginevra,

    Thank you ..
I wanted to make sure i guess am having last minute jitters since show is coming back today after a year
It will be 7.30 am for me anyways Excited and cant wait to read all the responses for the episode .

  29. Mihnea,

well she told me that this season Thoros of Myr is coming back and that LSH character from the books is going to be incorporated in show finally – I don’t know if she is right or wrong but now I’ll be waiting for this to happen – ugh!
  30. Deesensfan,

    She is always my favorite..

Her posts and tags are the best out there ..
Its sad she gets to play dany who is not got that much of funny scenes because Emilia is the most funny and joyful person for me in the cast

  31. Mihnea,

Am going to have to grab popcorn especially for what we are about to see especially in south if you know what I mean

  32. Deesensfan,

    Yeah me too .
Am looking forward to it too..i wish emilia gets to do more projects and shine in the big screen more and more in coming years

  33. Deesensfan,

When I wake up, tomorrow… I have HBO GO.

Then at 9PM is the ”official” release here, that’s when couple of my friends come to watch at my place, because they don’t have HBO.

  34. Dragonmcmx,

Same. Better on Chrome. On Safari, typing the URL kept sending me to a post from a few days ago.

    Deesensfan,

She told you this at the dojo…. Did you kick her ass?? 😉

    GAME OF MOTHERFUCKING THRONES!

  35. Mihnea,

So you’re going to watch it online before you go to work?
Hbo go is world wide ? Or is that the service that comes with your hbo cable service ?

  36. Are you going to watch on GO or NOW? I signed up for the free NOW trial and think I’ll use that tonight because I like the layout better. Was NOW stable for the premiere last year?

  37. Sister Kisser,

    Bahahaha
    I wanted to so badly
But my kickboxing coach was standing right there- or else…. Hahaha

Man you just hyped me up hard with that! GAME OF MOTHERFUCKING THRONES

  38. Deesensfan:
    Mihnea,

So you’re going to watch it online before you go to work?
Hbo go is world wide ? Or is that the service that comes with your hbo cable service ?

You have to have an HBO sub to use GO. Anyone can sub to NOW though and right now they have a free 30 day trial.

  39. Deesensfan,

    Yup. Work at 9.

I’ll wake at around 7, that should give me plenty of time.

I don’t now if it’s world wide, but we do have it here in Romania.

  40. Jack Bauer 24,

Yup bought a sub a month ago, I think.

First year I use it though…..Before I had to wait until Monday evening.
    Hope I don’t have problems with it..LOL.

  41. Deesensfan,

English isn’t my first language. Do you mean the live viewership?

If yes. Then I think it’s going to be around 9-10 mill. There where a lot of cliffhangers last year, and Jon’s fate ought to bump those numbers quite high.

  42. Mihnea,

Woah 9 or 10 Million! Hard to imagine, but you may be right, given the hype around this cliffhanger. So stoked. I have casually expected that we may not get much in the way of Jon’s “res”olution in EP1, but I am seriously hoping for it tonight. This reveal is actually 5 years in the making.

I have also been looking forward to seeing Davos become Jon’s homey. More and more, I am thinking Jon2.0 will be a drastically different man, perhaps needing somebody like Davos to do the negotiating for him.

  43. Isabelle,

Ha, thank you for those links! Since I’m obsessed with both Game of Thrones and football (all kinds – NFL, college, and the Premier League, or “real football” as those of you outside U.S. might say 😉 ), these GOT character drafts are one of my favorite things, silly though they might be. Always fun to read!

As a Cowboys fan, I’m hoping that they’ll be able to select Jalen Ramsey, Myles Jack, or one of the other elite defensive players at #4 overall. But if they somehow could add the Night’s King to their roster, as this mock draft suggests? I’d be on board with that! He’s got the highest potential upside of anyone still on the board! And if there’s any owner/GM who would be willing to make a move like that, it would indeed be Jerry Jones.

  44. Jared,

    Jerry loves his projects!

But you already have the Night’s King- his name is DEZ, and he’s unstoppable. Now if you could only get ahold of a real quarterback….

    Woohoo!

Okay, I’ve been antsy and writing. If you aren’t into Paul Simon, feel free to skip.

Fifty Ways to Raise Your Brother

The problem is all inside his head, she said to me
The answer is easy if you take it magically
I’d like to help wake him up again, you see
There must be fifty ways to raise your brother

She said it’s really not my habit to intrude
Further, I hope disrobing won’t accost or be misconstrued
But I’ll get naked at the risk of being crude
There must be fifty ways to raise your brother
Fifty ways to raise your brother

Just warg into a wolf, Arnolf
    Make a new Other, Brother
He could be a wight, Knight
    Let the man be born
    Give him a kiss, Thoros
Plop him onto a fire, Squire
Just kill off the boy, Roy,
And let the man be born
    Warg into a wolf, Arnolf
    Make a new Other, Brother
He could be a wight, Knight
    Let the man be born
    Give him a kiss, Thoros
Plop him onto a fire, Squire
Just kill off the boy, Roy,
And let the man be born

She said it grieves me so to see you in such pain
I wish there was something I could do to make him live again
Fans said, we appreciate that and would you please explain
    About the fifty ways

She said, why don’t we both just watch the show tonight
And I believe in the morning you’ll begin to see the light
And when she finished I realized she probably was right
There must be fifty ways to raise your brother
Fifty ways to raise your brother

Just warg into a wolf, Arnolf
    Make a new Other, Brother
He could be a wight, Knight
    Let the man be born

Plop him onto a fire, Squire
Just kill off the boy, Roy,
And let the man be born

  46. Sister Kisser,

I prefer to think of Dez as a firebreathing dragon that can stretch the field and soar as high as necessary to catch any ball thrown his way. But the Night’s King works as well! Either way, he’s a great and powerful wonder of the world who has been gone for a while, but is now ready to assert his presence once again and instill terror into all those who oppose him. Let’s just keep any and all Valyrian steel away from his ankles for a season, OK?

That quarterback comment hurts. Tony Romo’s got a few more years in him, right? Right? OK, probably not. Even as one of Romo’s biggest defenders, I must admit that it’s time to get a succession plan in place.

I’m just praying to the Many-Faced God that they don’t sign Johnny Manziel. I would rather have Grand Maester Pycelle running the offense than that guy.

  47. Jared,

LMAO Grand Maester Pycelle. Rolling. After that scene back in S2?, he might have it in him 😉 Here’s the thing about Romo. The guy’s got heart, so it’s tough to knock him, but I think he’s done, son. Or should be. That said, you have one helluva line to protect him. I watched him from 8 rows back defeat us in our house (Seattle). THAT was a shitty day. Also, the infamous botched hold. THAT was a glorious day (for us). So I may be biased.

As for Johnny, well, I said it before- Jerry loves his projects! (Maybe he can rez him)

  48. Tonights the night!! 10 months waiting for this very moment.

All the hype has prepared us for whats coming.

Valar Hypegulis, All Men Must Hype!

Hype gathers and now our Hype begins!!!!!

Sorry, I am just so excited 😀

  49. Deesensfan,

Everybody has been saying that! He dead. Deader than dead! He’s fucking dead, ok? Oh, wait, I’m mixing reality and fantasy again. I guess that’s really not so funny though, considering the state he’s in. I agree, he’s a lost cause. If I had a heart I would feel bad for the guy….

You are a Titans fan, yes? Looking forward to their draft? They made a helluva deal with the Rams. Things are looking up for your Braavosi

  50. Ginevra,

If it’s fury in the end
A battle for the iron throne
I’ll be fighting for the wolves
Drinking blood from a dying lion’s throat
MAY I REMIND YOU OF YOUR OATH

    GAME OF MUTHERFUCKING THRONES

  51. Sister Kisser: MAY I REMIND YOU OF YOUR OATH

This is Game of Thrones: no doubt one could recite 13 other Oaths telling me to do the opposite or stay out of the issue altogether!

  52. Incidentally, fans talk about “breaking the internet” all the time. Did anybody notice the Doctor Who fans doing that yesterday?

(Neither did I! But my fanboyishness has waned greatly since Matt Smith left the show….)

  53. Only about 8.5 hours from now! I actually think the first episode will be rather low-key, except for the culling of more cast members. 😀

dragonbringer: Its sad she gets to play dany who is not got that much of funny scenes because

Yes, Emilia does humor well. I love the trailer for “Me Before You.” Thinking of watching it this summer when it is released. Hope she gets to do some more rom-com. Daenerys Targaryen is not the most well-written or nuanced character, so she kind of got stuck with a character who is in a holding pattern till the end-game.

  54. Sister Kisser,

Ah, you’re a Seahawks fan! Thanks for reminding me of the single most painful loss of my entire life. 😉 Only time I’ve ever become the clichéd image of a frustrated fan and actually thrown the remote.

I have a lot of respect for your team and what they’ve accomplished over the past few years, however. I watched Richard Sherman and Doug Baldwin play at Stanford when I was there, and I’ve enjoyed watching them achieve such a high level of success in the league.

    Deesensfan,

I agree. Personally, I hope he gets his life together. But professionally, I don’t want him anywhere near my favorite football team. I just don’t think the skill set that made him such an amazing player in college translates to the NFL level.

  55. Sister Kisser,

Hahaha- that’s funny – he does need to be rezzed. Anyway I think Johnny football was overrated overhyped and now he has proven me right!

I sure am. For ONCE my team made a good decision. I just wish we had a better coach 🙁

Actually – second time we made a good decision. First one was Mariota!!

  56. Jared,

Exactly that. He was overrated going into the nfl. I wish him luck and hope he gets out of this phase but I definitely would not want him on my team.

    You’re a cowboys fan?

  57. Deesensfan,

I am, since I was five years old. I started following them in the middle of their run of winning three Super Bowls in four years, back in the halcyon days of Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, and Emmitt Smith (still my favorite NFL player ever). I was an impressionable kid, they were always on TV, and the city where I lived didn’t have an NFL team anywhere nearby.

That might have made me a bandwagon fan in the eyes of some (other than the fact that I was, you know, five). But I stuck with them through the days of Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson, Drew Henson, Vinny Testaverde, and aging Drew Bledsoe (to say nothing of Chan Gailey, Dave Campo, and all of JJ’s … eccentricities) before Tony Romo rose from undrafted free agent to starting QB and led the franchise back to something resembling competitiveness, if not quite glory. Since that stretch didn’t break me of my love for the team, I think I can safely call myself true blue, and a Cowboys fan for life.

  58. Jared:
    Deesensfan,

I started following them in the middle of their run of winning three Super Bowls in four years, back in the halcyon days of Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, and Emmitt Smith (still my favorite NFL player ever).

Emmitt! Our family were big fans of Emmitt, the champion of short people everywhere. And he was so freaking good. I loved Moose, as well, because he was surprisingly easy on the eyes.

  59. Hoyti Von Totiy:
Help me remember do we get “in the next episode preview” after Ep1 airs?

Yeah directly after the episode airs. Wonder if they will do away with it this year because of the spoiler lockdown.

  60. Jared,

    This a lovely story
That doesn’t sound bandwagon to me! The fact that you stuck through thick and thin is enough to say you’re a true fan.
Some could call me band wagon for being a Titans fan. I am from Canada so why Tennessee? I started following football when I started to finally understand the rules. It’s a complicated game. And I loved the Steve McNair and Eddie George duo. Who didn’t? So I stuck with them. And even the last few years of pure garbage display lol.
So I can relate to you!

  61. Ginevra,

    Ah, Moose! Good times.

    Deesensfan,

Glad to hear it! When you don’t have an obvious geographic or familial allegiance to a particular team, sometimes people can get judgmental. But we love the teams we love, and any reason that led us to them is valid as long as the passion is truly held.

Steve McNair was one of my favorite players when was in the league. Such a warrior. What happened to him was a shocking tragedy. Eddie George had a great run as well, becoming one of the few Heisman Trophy winners in recent years to have a long and successful NFL career. He was also on the Cowboys very briefly towards the end! He was largely done by then, but I appreciated having him on the team because of what he had accomplished with the Oilers/Titans before that.

I’ve got a feeling that Marcus Mariota will be a star for your team. He just needs to get healthy, and get some more pieces around him. The haul you got from the Rams for the top pick should help with that.

  62. Jared,

It’s nice to hear someone say nice things about the Titans. I usually get made fun of. And I don’t live in Nashville so I’m never around any titans fans.
Yup I remember George going over to the Cowboys. What happened to McNair was so messed up and Titans fans hearts were broken. I remember like it was yesterday. Still a legend.
Marcus needs an oline. He needs protection. We spent millions on the oline in the last year and it did nothing for us. What a waste. Marcus has so much potential, I just wish we hired a coach who I think could go long term. I don’t see mularkey lasting long and the worst thing you can do to a fresh QB is keep changing up the coaching staff.
I hope the trade with the Rams pays off. Imagine the Rams go 0-16 and get the first pick next year ? Means we get the first pick 😉 Haha

  63. I won’t try replying to everyone because my comment will just go into moderation for about 4 days. So:
    * You’re all very welcome for the links, glad you enjoyed them! 😀
    * I love that picture of Emilia, she really looks like she’s doing an impression of Muttley from the Wacky Races “rassumfrassumrickrastery!” 😀
    * Apparently the site recently switched servers and the problem is when your device links to cached pages from the old server (loads of people have had it). It should disappear soon, once new pages no longer contain any links from before the change 🙁
    * Ginevra hi honey, it’s almost that time again!! I’m going to swap over to the open chat thread now, I’ll catch up with you there 😀

  64. Ginevra,

Thank you Ginerva. Yeah, I wrote them. I recorded a friend’s “fun” band (i.e. not a serious project) a couple years ago and they asked me to put some vocals to it. I was in a deep Thrones state at the time, so all the lyrics reflected that.

I really liked your take on the Simon song above. Humorous, well written, and all very relevant to a very specific, yet unknown event… well done!

Some more lines from one of the other songs-

What is your weight in gold?
Tell me, are you worth your salt?
Would you imprison your son inside an empty vault?

You stabbed a king in the back
And pinned your palm to a cross
If you fell off your hand would you be better off?

    Blood
    Right
    Blood
    Bound

Tell me just what is right
    If not for your blood
Throw a boy from a tower to silence the truth he’s found
Tell me just what is right
    If not for your blood
Would you be honor bound to offer a sacrifice?

Tell me exactly what is honor
Have you no need for it now?
Tell me what of your gold, if not for the fear you arouse?
Tell me exactly what you wanted
Have you got time for that now
Why don’t you head back to your hills and make your father proud

    Head back to your hills
    Head back to your hills
    Head back to your hills
You’ll never make your father proud

There is another verse that for the life of me, I cannot remember.

  65. Jared,

That’s awesome. I saw a pic of them recently from their days at Stanford- Sherm was on the sidelines stoking out as Doug made a nice leaping catch.

I liked the glory days of Dallas- Emmitt was a powerhouse. Incredible runner. Your team will get back there. That’s the cool thing about salary caps and the draft- most teams oscillate, and the pendulum will swing back. It has been cool to finally enjoy some success in Seattle. I went to my first game when I was a kid… Steve Largent was fun to watch, but we had a long stretch rough, rough years as a team.

    Deesensfan,

Totally agree about Johnny being overrated as F$%&. Mariota and the Braavosi should do really well in a year or two if they build around him. 🙂

  66. Sister Kisser,

Cool! Awesomeness. These lyrics are beautiful. I imagine almost a metallic edge to the music – don’t tell Wimsey! Is it between hard rock and metal?

  67. Ginevra,

Hahaha you called it. Definitely not metal, but hard rock. “Oath” is the heaviest riff. I guess this stuff is kindof like QOTSA? I’ll be home in a couple weeks and will dig them up for you. And though he and I share some common ground musically, Wimsey would most definitely not approve 😉 And, thank you. 🙂

  68. Sister Kisser,

Awesome! I look forward to it. I enjoy hard rock (AC/DC comes to mind, 3 Doors Down) but it’s harder for me to appreciate metal. That’s the old man’s favorite music (Metallica). My girls were all, you have no idea what Daddy listens to in his headphones!
