  1. I wonder if they’ll bless us with an episode title before Sunday or if it will just be called Episode 66 in perpetuity.

“Death is the Enemy” according to my guide

  3. I thought that gold cloak looked familiar. I don’t think I could have guessed it was the same guy that played Camello with the mummers.

When the group left through the gate I wasn’t thinking so much about the lack of headgear as I was that they were walking rather than on horses. Was there ever a ranging party that set out on foot? They ended up on foot before after losing their horses, but to start without them… Jon’s arrival party obviously didn’t have horses and perhaps Tormund and the wildlings didn’t ride horses there from Winterfell (hard to believe), but wouldn’t Eastwatch have a stable full??

  4. Fire and blood poster is very good. Could have given Dany purple color eyes. Was that not a Targaryan trait in the books?

  5. Does it actually say Death is the Enemy on the TV preview info? I think WotW tweeted yesterday that wasn’t the title. HBO.com still does not say anything

  6. Ryan,

That’s what my on-tv cable guide has it as, along with the short synopsis. I think it would be unusual for them to have the synopsis but have the episode title incorrect. Possible I suppose. *shrug* I’m not at home and I don’t remember now what the synopsis says.

  7. I want The Hound to perish so that he can be the wight Jon Snow takes back to KL and then UNDEAD CLEGANE BOWL WILL HAPPEN IN THE FINALE and will also be the title of the finale.

    A man can dream, right?

  8. ManderlyPieCompany,
So you’re such a proponent of a Clegane Bowl that you want Sandor to die just so they can both fight as animated dead guys?
I’ve never cared one bit for Clegane Bowl, be they alive or undead. Two big dudes clashing swords together doesn’t excite me as much I guess.

I think you just confirmed it.

  10. We went to Eastbourne this year and whilst sitting by the sea having a beverage checking WotW saw an article about Eastwatch texted my son and told him next year we were going to Eastwatch by the Sea. He texted back and asked me was it near Eastbourne and he wasn’t joking lol😂

  11. Clob: “Death is the Enemy” according to my guide

That’s not the title, a good source confirmed it for me. HBO has not released the title. We’ll see what happens when they release the photos today (assuming they release the weekly photos when they usually do).

  12. Hilarious as always, nice job, Axey. I realized I’m very attuned to clothing comments, I loved the Cersei is wearing black bubble wrap, and the Who wore it better? tweet about Jorah’s cloak. I would go back and find the sources of those, but well … The whole thing had me laughing. There are some really funny fans of GoT out there.

Too much love for Arya getting on Sansa’s case, though. Sansa just doing what has to be done, WITHOUT cutting off heads. Sure she’s thinking about being in charge, Arya. She has to be, if Jon gets killed, WTF is she going to do if she hasn’t thought how to keep things together? I love Arya, but all you who thought Arya was totally right can stuff it. You want Sansa to NOT think about being in charge, or to cut someone’s head off right away? Yeah, cutting off heads worked so well for Robb.

Sorry, Axe, I hate when Sansa gets undeserved shit. LOVED the Gendry love and the Drogon-Jon stuff, and the Gilly Ragger moaning. I liked that you found people who noticed Dany’s look of despair when Jon said he had to go home. Then, Eastwatch – People, they aren’t going to kill ALL seven of those dudes out there in dead winter with no hats on. Just some . of . them. uh, I can’t stand thinking about it. No one mentioned Beric Dondarrion’s voice, though? After Jorah, I could listen to that man preach all day. But Hound was right, had to get moving. Wiggling wight to catch. (dumbest notion in the world)

ARTWORK amazing. Thanks for digging all that up, too, Axey. and the Ghost pics. I agree with the posters. He should have been at least shown trotting across the courtyard at Winterfell, or getting dinner in the kitchen, or SOMETHING.

I look forward to Wednesdays just this from you Axey. Thanks again.

Huh, well someone should inform my cable company. Not that I really care, but what’s the purpose for delaying the titles? They don’t typically give that much away anymore. It kind of feels like they are actually waiting until the last ‘minute’ to name them just so they can feel like there’s at least one thing not leaked. 😛

    Thronetender,

Arya has been my favorite character since I started reading the books, but I have to say that I’m not all that thrilled with what they’ve started doing with her. I realize they had to give her something to do once returning to Winterfell, but a ‘behind closed doors’ rift arc with Sansa isn’t my first choice. With what she’s been through, what she’s done and who she is she should be confident, not slinking around and chastising Sansa. She isn’t THE Lady in charge but she’s still A Lady Stark of the House and should be speaking her mind to the Lords as well. At least make her presense known. It took thirty seconds for her to earn respect from Brienne. A-holes with “flexible” allegiance such as Lord Glover that cower to little girls like Lady Mormont should be easily swayed by the likes of Arya.

Maybe I’m just a little miffed… Arya had her own storyline for 5+ seasons learning and training for something seemingly special. Then they take her back to Winterfell and she gets stuffed into the sub-plot of Littlefinger’s machinations. In other words, the storyline and character that most don’t care about and just want to be done with. Hopefully she can be a part of finally finishing him off so we can get her into more exciting things.

I’m hoping it is all a trap setup by Sansa and Arya similar to how Arya lured the waif to the room where she had hidden Needle and the lit candle. That had to be on purpose right? In my head it is.

I’m hoping whoever slits his throat says “I did tell you not to trust me.”

  15. Wonderful work as always, Axey. With all the meetups and improbable events, this episode was far more tweet-worthy than last week when Drogon made me forget Twitter even existed.
