Oreo Game of Thrones Cookies Revealed, with Game of Thrones-based Title Sequence

Game of Thrones Oreo 2

You read that right. Nabisco is introducing Oreo Game of Thrones cookies just in time for the final season of the show! This is a crazy world we live in. A tasty one, too.

In what’s expected to be one of Oreo’s largest limited-editions ever, this new cookie is described as a “playful new take on the original cookie.” Each pack features four unique embossments: one of them spotlights the Night King, while the other three feature the main Great Houses still battling for the Iron Throne (sorry, Tyrells and Martells—you’re extinct; sorry, Tullys, Arryns, and Greyjoys, you may as well be. No cookie for you!)

Where does your loyalty lie? Fans can pledge their fealty for House Lannister, House Targaryen, House Stark or The Night King (if you’re a nihilist) by visiting Oreo’s website, Facebook and Twitter – using #GameofCookies and #ForTheThrone. Oreo will surprise select fans throughout the season with a special treat for participating.

Additionally, to announce the new cookie, Oreo and HBO collaborated with Elastic – the VFX creators of the Game of Thrones opening sequence – to conceive an Oreo version of the same, featuring an animated landscape built entirely out of 2750 Oreo cookies:

That’s just amazing. Anyway: these new Game of Thrones-themed cookies are available for a limited time starting April 8, wherever Oreos are sold in the US, while supplies last.

  1. that was a very detailed cute animation! they put a lot of effort into it, more than Mountain Dew…..

    I’m tempted… and I don’t even like Oeros

guess clever marketing really does work! lol

  2. So now that Jack has rolled in, I can finish my post……

Can anyone give a summary on how the licensing fees etc for all these joint efforts would be handled etc? How much money is changing hands? How much is HBO recovering from its super budget for S8 etc?

I have not eaten an Oreo in over a decade years. Well, I am going to the store this week to try to get a packet of these calories bombs.

    • Now THAT was the way to do a tie-in! 😀

    • I just know that my local supermarkets will be sold out as soon as they stock these. ☹️

  4. The only thing about this news that I find truly upsetting is that Nabisco and HBO passed up an amazing opportinity to rename these type of Oreos into “Aryas”. Such disappoint.
